I say we ban all Canadians from rigorousintuition.ca. Well, she never bothered me and I don't agree with this decision. She should have been given one last ONE LAST warning, not banned.
I 86 people from a "brick and mortar" place and to me I've always felt bad about it too. But this is still the Internet and not a physical place. She wasn't racist, fascist, misogynist etc. She was and is a good painter, outspoken and quarrelsome. She never did it with me. But she was a member and to cut her off to me, seems cruel. I see people argue all the time in real life and do what I have to do. It's not like RI is a bar overserving, it's an Internet forum. While I agree some need attain some perspective of their Internet lives and the "real" ones, I do not agree with any kind of banning of anyone. We have a built in immune defense and like all members, long term members, I again, disagree with this decision and thumb in the eye to a real human who interacted with us. To cut her off from this interaction is akin to "fascism". I've felt the same way about all members who get banned and/or suspended.
If I was a mod, I would be the dissent. As a member and lover of all of our genuine and unique personalities here, I do still dissent. She is who she is and I refuse to see her go and that also goes to SLAD and C2W and whatever the squabble is. C_W did get, I agree, too personal with things. I zone out on the personal things when they pertain to expressing anger.
I suppose that it's the recognition that we all have our crosses to bear and I am used to surly people and deal with in kind as in being kind. To cut her off, to me, is unkind. Not in agreement and she never did nuthin' to me.
There is no me. There is no you. There is all. There is no you. There is no me. And that is all. A profound acceptance of an enormous pageantry. A haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love. -- Propagandhi
