POLITICO Illinois Playbook: Students heckle EMANUEL with ‘16 shots’
chant -- FOXX’s new support -- FBI praise for ALVAREZ

1.

Good Thursday morning, Illinois. Mayor Rahm Emanuel is still
struggling to regain his political footing more than three weeks after
the release of dashcam video showing a Chicago police officer fatally
shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.

Story Continued Below

On Wednesday -- the same day officer Jason Van Dyke was indicted on
first-degree murder and official misconduct charges -- the mayor was
reminded how very real public anger remains over his administration’s
handling of the case. When he stood before a typically friendly crowd
at the Urban Prep campus in Englewood to students suddenly began
chanting “16 shots!” Elsewhere in the city, Department of Justice
officials were meeting with Chicago police brass as it dissects the
department’s practices.

Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez is facing the same kind of
issues and her March primary opponents are seizing on her
vulnerabilities. Today, the clout-heavy Thornton Township Democratic
Committee is expected to formally endorse Kim Foxx, former chief of
staff to Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.

Critics have slammed Alvarez for taking more than a year to indict Van
Dyke and she has strenuously defended her role, say

Congress added some of the most controversial parts of the latest
cybersecurity bill to its gigantic end-of-year “must-pass” omnibus
spending package, including mandatory sharing of any consumer data it
collects with the Internal Revenue Service, FBI and the National
Security Agency.

Civil liberties experts said they were dismayed that Congress had used
the late-night bill to pass some of the most invasive parts of the
Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (Cisa).

“Once again, members of Congress are using the government funding bill
to pursue their extremist agendas,” said Anthony Romero, executive
director of the American Civil Liberties Union. “Sneaking damaging and

FBI Official: The President Is Very Interested In Flooding This
Country With People From The Middle East For Some Reason
December 14, 2015 ·

James Kallstrom, a former assistant FBI Director, blew the “Obama’s a
secret Muslim” dog whistle on Fox News last night. There wasn’t a peep
of challenge from host Jeanine Pirro.

In a discussion about terrorism on Justice with Judge Jeanine,
Kalstrom announced, “I think Donald Trump had it largely right” about
barring Muslims from entering the country. “I mean, we need to take a
pause because it’s a joke,” Kallstrom said about our vetting process.
“We don’t have any idea who these people are.”

Host Jeanine Pirro interrupted to make the criticism more about
President Obama. “But the president knows this,” Pirro said pointedly.

And Bingo!

KALLSTROM: The president is very interested in flooding this
country with people from the Middle East for some reason.

PIRRO: Do you believe that?

KALLSTROM: Well, for some reason. I’m not gonna say what the
reason is but there’s some reason why this is happening. And why
aren’t the Christians coming into this country? And why aren’t some of
the others, you know, who are being massacred, not that the Muslims
aren’t being massacred, they are. And we have a lot of great Muslims.
Look at all the Muslims on the New York PD…

Pirro has an unhinged hatred for Obama, so it’s no surprise that she
would not challenge this outrageous statement.

FBI lawyer helped destroy
TWA Flight 800

http://www.cashill.com/twa800/top_fbi_lawyer.htm

In August 2003, a former U.S. attorney in the Clinton administration,
Valerie Caproni, was appointed to the top legal job within the Federal
Bureau of Investigation – that of general counsel. As such, she
provides legal advice to the director and other FBI officials and,
among other duties, coordinates the defense of civil actions filed
against the United States for the official acts of FBI employees.

"This is the coolest job in the world," the 5-foot-tall Caproni
recently told Robert Vosper, author of a 4,000-word profile on Caproni
in the Corporate Legal Times titled, "The Chosen One." "I can be doing
national security stuff in the morning, a Patriot Act issue after
lunch and an employment problem in the afternoon."

Caproni, however, has a clouded legal past that provides an
unfortunate study in how the national security apparatus can function
if placed in the wrong hands. Working in the Clinton Justice
Department, Caproni did not need the Patriot Act to go awry.

The co-author of this article, James Sanders, learned about Caproni
early in his investigation into the crash of TWA Flight 800. Within
days of the crash, it was she who illegally took the investigation
away from the National Transportation Safety Board and gave it to the
FBI.

The relevant law [Title 49, section 1131(a)(2)] reads as follows: "An
investigation by the Board ... has priority over any investigation by
another department, agency or instrumentality of the United States
Government." The "Board" in question is the National Transportation
Safety Board. In other words, a "parallel" FBI investigation is by law
inferior to the NTSB investigation.

Caproni, as head of the Justice Department Criminal District, Eastern
District of New York, knew the law. She knew that the FBI was the
subordinate agency. She knew that the NTSB could not legally be
restricted in its pursuit of information. Still, in spite of the law,
she used the full weight of the Justice Department, and the
intimidating presence of the FBI, to order the NTSB witness group to
cease and desist all of the critical eyewitness interviews.

"As for the charges that she and the FBI took over investigation,"
writes Vosper casually, "Caproni says she is guilty." The FBI never
did declare TWA Flight 800 a crime scene, the only possible
justification for Caproni's intrusion. An NTSB document reveals that
Caproni and the Justice Department took over the investigation to
ensure that only one story emerged from the witness interviews, the
official story, their story. In this, she fully succeeded.

Caproni, alas, was just warming up. Her second major transgression was
to place herself in charge of a grand jury investigating Sanders and
his wife, Elizabeth. Sanders had received a residue sample from a
source in the TWA Flight 800 investigation in his attempt to expose
potential criminal misconduct by the same FBI that Caproni herself had
illicitly imposed on site.

In the course of her investigation into the Sanders, Caproni crossed
over the line into criminal territory [USC Title 18, section 1001].
She did so by declaring in writing that she did not know Sanders was a
journalist, thus making it possible to seize his phone records and
ultimately his computer and the information contained within its hard
drive.

Caproni's purported ignorance of Sanders' profession defies belief.
She, in fact, first learned about James Sanders from an account of his
investigation in the Riverside Press Enterprise, March 10, 1997.
Sanders' name was easy to find. It was on page one, above the fold,
second paragraph of the lead story. To the immediate left of "James
Sanders" were two words that challenge Caproni's innocence . The two
words were "Investigative Reporter." Indeed, even the Corporate Legal
Times' profile on Caproni describes Sanders as a "freelance
journalist."

It was Sanders' reporting that first alerted Caproni to the problem at
hand, namely that a journalist was probing into potential criminal
acts within the TWA 800 investigation – acts likely committed by
federal officials. These officials, she knew, included herself and the
FBI head of the investigation, James Kallstrom, who had been coerced
into cooperating. The conflict of interest here should have caused
Caproni to recuse herself. If not Caproni, her supervisors in the
White House, Jamie Gorelick and Janet Reno, should never have allowed
Caproni to pursue a case against her own potential accuser. But then
again, it was the future 9-11 commissioner Gorelick who had leaned on
Kallstrom.

When Sanders first met with Caproni in April 1997, he had no idea of
the hornet's nest he was walking in to. Escorted by Jeff Schlanger, a
former New York prosecutor, Sanders sat across from Caproni and a
senior FBI agent. A large video taping system recorded the entire
meeting. As part of the federal system used for video meetings during
times of crisis, it was hooked up to other systems in Washington, D.C.
as well as at the FBI's New York City headquarters. The Clinton
Justice department had its first look at the retired cop turned
journalist who threatened its grip on power.

At this meeting, Caproni told Sanders he would become the "target" of
a Justice Department/FBI investigation if he did not immediately turn
over the names of those inside the investigation who were assisting
him. Sanders refused. His attorney argued for Sanders' First Amendment
rights as a reporter. Caproni was not impressed.

The only words that count in a criminal case are those in the trial
transcript, spoken under oath. Sanders' attorney at the April 1997
meeting, Jeff Schlanger, was placed under oath at the Sanders'
criminal trial two years later. These are the relevant words from the
trial transcript:

Q: Did the government indicate at that meeting what, if any, actions
they were prepared to take with respect to Liz Sanders?

A: At the very end of that meeting there was a change in the status of
Mrs. Sanders from being just a subject in the investigation, to a
possible target in the investigation. And that was communicated
directly to myself and Mr. Sanders.

Q: And when you say [it] was communicated directly to you, what was
your understanding if she did not cooperate?

A: That the government would at least attempt to seek an indictment
against her as well.

Q: Now ...

A: It wasn't if she did not cooperate. It was if Mr. Sanders did not
cooperate."

The feds had a complete audio-video tape of the meeting. An FBI agent
at that meeting was in the courtroom, available to rebut this sworn
testimony. The Justice Department declined to engage further in the
issue. Why? The testimony accurately reflected what the Justice
Department video contained.

At that point the trial should have been over. The judge was certainly
aware that Caproni had crossed the line once again into unlawful
territory. Her threat against Elizabeth, now revealed in open court,
constituted "vindictive prosecution." Worse, it violated the civil
rights of the Sanders as no evidence was ever produced to validate
Caproni's rationale for targeting Elizabeth. Caproni had simply
exploited Elizabeth, holding her hostage to Justice Department
chicanery, in a last-minute gambit to get her husband to identify his
source.

But the trial did not end with this revelation. Caproni had stacked
the federal deck against the Sanders. Both were convicted of
conspiracy to steal airplane parts – a law designed to protect crash
sites from scavengers. The mainstream media, so seemingly keen on
constitutional rights in the Ashcroft era, mocked the Sanders as
"conspiracy theorists" and generally applauded their conviction.

In the years that followed, as Sanders served out his three-year
probation, he often wondered why Caproni and her allies had hammered
him so. A summation of her arguably illicit acts defies easy
explanation. These include:

Illegally turning the TWA 800 investigation over to the FBI.

Leading a grand jury investigation of a reporter who was
investigating her own misconduct.

Denying in writing any knowledge that he was a reporter so she
could seize his computer and phone records.

Threatening the vindictive prosecution of Sanders' wife to force
Sanders to cooperate.

Making this threat knowing there was no evidence against Elizabeth
Sanders.

Overseeing the Sanders' conviction on irrelevant and gratuitous
charges, thereby silencing her most dangerous journalist critic.

Only recently, upon discovering another reason beyond the obvious, did
Sanders begin to understand Caproni's behavior. This reason, recently
revealed, is a jaw dropper. In that ill-fated summer of 1996, Caproni,
Kallstrom and other senior FBI agents may well have unwittingly
assisted Islamic terrorist Ramzi Yousef in his effort to destroy an
American commercial airliner.

At the time, Caproni was involved in an ongoing sting operation
against Yousef. While being tried in federal court for his role in
Operation Bojinka, Yousef's diabolical plot to destroy American
targets through the air, Yousef operated under the illusion of having
a safe telephone within his New York City jail

Yousef thought he was routing messages to the outside world through a
phone controlled by the New York Cosa Nostra. Five-time Emmy-winner
Peter Lance documents this thoroughly in his new book, "Cover Up." In
fact, mob informant Gregory Scarpa

Defense Lawyers Claim FBI Peddled Child Porn in Dark Web Sting
January 8, 2016 // 12:00 PM EST

On Tuesday, Motherboard reported that the FBI had carried out an “unprecedented” hacking campaign, in which the agency targeted at least 1,300 computers that were allegedly used to visit a site hosting child pornography.

While it looks like several of those already charged will plead guilty to online child pornography crimes, one defense team has made the extraordinary step of arguing to have their client's case thrown out completely. Their main argument is that the FBI, in briefly running the child pornography site from its own servers in Virginia, itself distributed an “untold” amount of illegal material.

“There is no law enforcement exemption, or statutory exemption for the distribution of child pornography,” Colin Fieman, one of the federal public defenders filing the motion to dismiss the indictment, claimed in a phone interview earlier this week. Jay Michaud, a Vancouver teacher arrested in July 2015, is also being represented by Linda Sullivan.

“THE GOVERNMENT'S OPERATION OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST ‘HIDDEN SERVER’ CHILD PORNOGRAPHY SITE AND ITS GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION OF UNTOLD NUMBERS OF PICTURES AND VIDEOS IS OUTRAGEOUS CONDUCT THAT SHOULD RESULT IN DISMISSAL OF THE INDICTMENT,” a court filing dated November 20, 2015 reads.

Fieman and Sullivan reason that if the methods of the investigation that supposedly identified his client “cannot be reconciled with fundamental expectations of decency and fairness,” then the indictment should be dismissed.

Re: THE INMATES ARE RUNNING THE ASYLUM

Postby fruhmenschen » Sat Jan 16, 2016 7:51 pm

yes our taxes funded these military officers at Fort Benning

Twelve of the Eighteen Former Military Arrested in Guatemala are SOA graduates

Last week, eighteen former military officials were arrested on charges of genocide and crimes against humanity in one of the largest mass arrests of military officers Latin America has ever seen. Twelve of them were trained at the SOA. The arrests happened one week before the January 14th inauguration of newly elected President Jimmy Morales, of the National Convergence Front (FCN).

Morales, whose party has close ties to the military, faces pressure in the face of the current developments. Morales' right hand man, Edgar Justino Ovalle Maldonado, who is also the FCN party co-founder, newly elected congressman, and retired colonel, is also facing similar charges, though he was not arrested because of his immunity as a congressman. Guatemala's Attorney General, however, has requested the Supreme Court look at the case to strip him of his immunity. Ovalle Maldonado, who is also an SOA graduate, is linked to massacres and disappearances during the 1980's.

The officers arrested last week are (see below for a list of notorious SOA graduates among those recently arrested):

Ismael Segura Abularach (SOA, 1976)
Pablo Roberto Saucedo Mérida (SOA, 1970)
César Augusto Ruiz Morales (SOA, 1970)
Manuel Antonio Callejas Callejas (SOA, 1962 & 1970)
Colonel Fransisco Luis Gordillo Martínez (SOA, 1961)
Carlos Humberto López Rodríguez (SOA, 1970)
Edilberto Letona Linares (SOA; 1970)
José Antonio Vásquez García (SOA, 1970)
Manuel Benedicto Lucas García (SOA, 1965)
Carlos Augusto Garavito Morán (SOA, 1984)
Luis Alberto Paredes Nájera (SOA, 1960)
César Augusto Cabrera Mejía (SOA, 1967)
Juan Ovalle Salazar
Gustavo Alonzo Rosales García
Hugo Ramiro Zaldaña Rojas
Raul Dahesa Oliva
Edgar Rolando Hernández Méndez

The arrests are linked to two cases in particular, both of which have gone before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. The first case concerns the operations that occurred at the military base in Cobán. In 2012, exhumations by forensic anthropologists led to the uncovering of at least 550 victims disappeared between 1981 and 1988. The second is for the disappearance of Marco Antonio Molina Theissen, a 14-year-old boy disappeared by the G-2 military intelligence forces on October 6, 1981.

Read more about the operations in Cobán:
http://www.cipamericas.org/archives/18204

A pretrial held before a District Court this week in the case of the disappearance of Marco Antonio determined that four of the former military officers accused - three of whom are SOA graduates - will go to trial, facing charges of forced disappearance and crimes against humanity. The retired officers - Fransisco Luis Gordillo Martínez, Edilberto Letona Linares, Hugo Ramiro Zaldaña Rojas, and Manuel Antonio Callejas Callejas - remain in custody pending ongoing investigations by the public prosecutors.

It remains to be seen if newly sworn-in Morales, whose party is backed by the darkest structures of the Guatemalan military, will allow for these cases to run their course. The struggle for justice in Guatemala is still as much a challenge today as it was in the past. Given the recent mass mobilizations that brought down the former President and SOA-graduate Otto Pérez Molina and his Vice-President Roxana Baldetti, Morales faces a citizenry that has lost much of the fear that created a culture of silence. In a recent National Catholic Reporter article, Fr. Roy Bourgeois stated that "there will never be any justice or reconciliation until there is accountability and the perpetrators start going to prison". The people of Guatemala are hungry for justice, and they have memory on their side.

LESSONS FOR THE U.S.

History has shown us that we cannot count on the government to hold itself accountable. We know from experience that the power we need to makes the changes we so desperately need will come from us, the grassroots. Vice-President Biden, who attended President Morales' inauguration, also had a meeting with the northern triangle Presidents yesterday regarding the ill-named Alliance for Prosperity, which supposedly addresses the root causes of migration. This conversation comes at the same time that ICE is carrying out raids and deporting Central American refugees that have fled US-sponsored state violence. Instead of actually addressing the root causes of migration by changing its destructive foreign policy in Central America, the U.S. continues to create the conditions that make people flee their home countries through violence and economic exploitation. This was the case during the dirty wars of the 1980's, and unfortunately it is the case now.

There is no question that there was absolute complicity by the U.S. during the 36-year-long armed conflict that marked Guatemala for generations to come. For Guatemalans, this is a decades-long struggle to break down the wall of impunity and the culture of silence and fear, and the steps being taken by survivors to bring cases forward have been nothing short of brave and courageous. For the U.S., what has unraveled over the past few days serves as a sobering reminder that the U.S. fully backed - covertly, directly and indirectly - the Guatemalan military through training, fund ...

Secret police? Virginia considers bill to withhold all officers’ names. - The Washington Post

It started with a reporter’s attempt to learn whether problem police officers were moving from department to department. It resulted in legislation that is again bringing national scrutiny to the Virginia General Assembly: a bill that could keep all Virginia police officers’ names secret.

In a climate where the actions of police nationwide are being watched as never before, supporters say the bill is needed to keep officers safe from people who may harass or harm them. But the effort has drawn the attention of civil rights groups and others who say police should be moving toward more transparency — not less — to ensure that troubled officers are found and removed.

If it is made law, experts say the restriction would be unprecedented nationwide.

Plea deal reveals details of case against former DEA agent

http://www.tbo.com/news/crime/plea-deal ... -20160301/

March 1, 2016

TAMPA — When a drug importer’s brother gave a retired federal agent a shopping bag stuffed with $223,000 in hundred-dollar bills, the agent counted the money and asked the man how much was in his wallet.

The man showed retired Drug Enforcement Administration agent Samuel Murad the wallet with $800 in cash, and Murad took that money too.

He then warned the man to tell his brother — who was in federal prison — to “shut up” on the phone.

Murad, who was trying to help the drug importer get his 30-year prison sentence reduced, knew agents were monitoring the drug trafficker’s phone calls.

Details of Murad’s involvement with the drug trafficker and his family are contained in an agreement Murad, 62, has signed to plead guilty to federal charges, including tax evasion and witness tampering, which carry a combined possible sentence of 25 years in prison.

“We hope this puts this unfortunate incident to rest and allows everyone to go on with their lives,” said Murad’s lawyer, Greg Kehoe. “Sam was a great servant to the federal government and gave decades of service to the American people and to this community.”

Murad also admits he enlisted the help of a friend, Rober Quinn, who was still a DEA agent at the time, but has since retired. Quinn pleaded guilty in Novem

With prosecutors' blessing, a jailhouse informant tied to the Mexican Mafia gets leniency
March 5 2016

http://www.latimes.com/local/orangecoun ... story.html

The snitch who helped federal authorities decapitate Mexican Mafia operations within the Orange County Jail, and who is at the heart of allegations that the district attorney's office misused informants, was rewarded Friday for his cooperation with a break on potential prison time.

Under California's three-strikes law, Fernando Perez — a career criminal who went by the name "Wicked" as a member of the 18th Street gang and later as the mysterious "Inmate F" in court papers — was facing 40 years to life on a conviction of being a felon with a firearm.

After state and federal prosecutors said they would not object to leniency, Orange County Superior Court Judge Gregg Prickett on Friday gave Perez 21 years. Counting more than 13 years of time served, Perez has a little more than seven years left on his sentence and could be out sooner with good behavior.

NEWSLETTER: Get essential California headlines delivered daily >>

At a sentencing hearing last week, FBI agent Anthony Garcia told the judge that Perez, 34, had provided valuable information about associates in the Mexican Mafia. It included which inmates were on the gang's "hard candy" list — those marked to be killed — and which were on its "green light" list for beatings.
See the most-read stories this hour >>

The agent said that Perez had supplied about a dozen "kites," or surreptitious notes passed among inmates, providing a rare glimpse into the gang's inner workings.

"It's good to get one, but to get them on a regular basis is fantastic," Garcia said.

Had members become aware of Perez's cooperation with authorities, Garcia said, they would have killed him at the first opportunity. "I have no doubt about that," Garcia said. "The gang culture here is very clear on that. If you rat, you're dead."

Assistant U.S. Atty. Joseph McNally described Perez as a low-level Mexican Mafia member who had helped convict more than 25 people targeted by an FBI-led task force called Black Flag.

Around 2010, McNally said, a war was raging between factions of the gang, and "ground zero … was the Orange County Jail."

Deputy District Atty. James Laird called the Mexican Mafia prosecutions "a huge win for law enforcement."

"The jail was running amok in 2010," he told the judge. "Things are back in order there."

Perez, accompanied to court by U.S. marshals, pleaded for leniency in a cracking voice.

"I'm no longer the person that I was when I was involved in the gang life," he told Prickett. "I have changed beyond words."

He also said he did not regret his decision to cooperate with authorities, even though it made him a marked man. "It has been nearly nine years since I held my children," he told the judge. "Please let me go home."

Prickett denied media requests to photograph Perez — a diminutive man with a shaved head and glasses — on the basis that it might endanger his life.

In the federal witness protection program as he serves his time, Perez is being held at a location secret even to his lawyer.

"I don't know where he is, I don't know where he's been, I have no way of contacting him other than relying on him to call me," Richard Curran said. When Perez is released, Curran said, he will be given a new name and go into hiding.

Perez's work as an informant was the catalyst for a controversy dogging the Orange County district attorney's office.

In 2011, well into Perez's career as a snitch, Orange County jailers put him in a cell next to Scott Dekraai — the former tugboat crewman who pleaded guilty to murdering eight people at a Seal Beach beauty salon.

Prosecutors hoped to use what the killer told Perez, during hours of secretly recorded conversations, to put Dekraai on death row.

The district attorney's office said the proximity between snitch and killer was mere coincidence. Dekraai's lawyer, Scott Sanders, insisted Perez had been planted — part of a widespread pattern of violating the rights of defendants who already had lawyers.

The controversy has caused numerous homicide cases to unravel. Last year, a judge ruled that prosecutors had improperly withheld informant-related evidence and threw the district attorney's office off the Dekraai case.

As a result of the ongoing controversy, the American Civil Liberties Union on Friday asked the Orange County district attorney's office and Sheriff's Department to detail their policies regarding the use of informants.

"We know that Orange County officials have failed to play by the rules," Brendan Hamme, an ACLU staff attorney, said in a statement. "What we don't know is

LaVoy Finicum’s Family: New Video Release Shows Police/FBI Shooting
Was “Murder”

The release last week of video footage taken from the cellphone of a
passenger inside the pickup truck driven by Arizona rancher Robert
LaVoy Finicum provides dramatic new evidence of the final minutes and
seconds before he was shot to death at a roadblock near Burns, Oregon,
on January 26.

It also shows, for the first time, the tense situation for the
survivors huddled inside the pickup, as the shooting by the FBI and
Oregon State Police (OSP) continued.

The video, which was released by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office
at a press conference on March 8, shows the new footage as an inset
within the already well-known FBI footage taken from an aerial camera
and released by the FBI on Ja

Schuette: Dunnings paid for sex 'hundreds of times'

http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/stor ... /81758756/

LANSING - Stuart Dunnings III paid for sex "hundreds of times" between
2010 and 2015, state and county law enforcement officials said Monday
as they announced charges against the long-serving Ingham County
prosecutor.

Dunnings was arrested Monday morning outside a Lansing coffee shop,
officials said.

Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings, III at a 2015 news
conference.

He is facing a total of 15 criminal charges in Ingham, Clinton and
Ionia counties, the most serious being a felony charge of
prostitution-pandering for allegedly using his position to coerce a
woman who came to him for help with a child custody case to have sex
with him for money, according to court records.

The other charges are misdemeanors for engaging in the services of a
prostitute and willful neglect of duty, which stems from his failure
to report crimes, according to court records.

According to an affidavit from an Ingham County detective, Dunnings
solicited prostitutes from websites such as Escort Vault and Backpage,
paid for sex for sex as often as three or four times a week and was
videotaped by one of the prosti

Can the Fort Dix 5 channel the power of the Camden 28?

It was freezing cold outside — so cold that you wanted to wrap the
stiff banner material around your hands for a little warmth. We —
members of Witness Against Torture — were standing outside a Camden,
New Jersey courthouse in early January to support the Duka brothers,
three Albanian-American men who are now serving life sentences after
being found guilty of conspiracy to commit terrorism and other charges
in December 2008. Our banners said, “Innocent until proven Muslim” and
“Islamophobia convicted the Duka brothers — Free them now.” Many
believe the men are categorically innocent, and — on that cold day in
January — they were finally getting a chance to present a motion for a
retrial based on incompetent representation. Family and friends of the
brothers crowded the courtroom, craning to glimpse their loved ones.

As the judge in the Duka brothers case considers the motion and
prepares to deliver a ruling later this week, there’s another trial
from Camden’s past that may offer a small ray of hope. More than 40
years ago, in the spring of 1973 — in the same courthouse (in the same
court room even) — 28 women and men stood trial. They were the Camden

Former White House official and counterterrorism expert Richard Clarke
said Monday in an interview on NPR's Morning Edition that he believes
that if the FBI asked, the National Security Agency “would have solved
this problem” of opening the encrypted iPhone of the San Bernardino,
California, shooter.

When asked by NPR anchor David Greene what he would have done if he
was still in government, Clarke said he would taken the San Bernardino
shooter's iPhone, which is at the center of a national debate over
encryption, to NSA headquarters in Fort Meade, Maryland. Clarke
believes the FBI is holding out in an attempt to set a legal precedent
to facilitate decrypting smartphones in the future.

“Every expert I know believes the NSA could crack this phone,” Clarke
says. “[The FBI and the Department

Ten Civilizations or Nations That Collapsed From Drought

By: Jeff Masters, 3:15 PM GMT on March 21, 2016

Drought is the great enemy of human civilization. Drought deprives us
of the two things necessary to sustain life--food and water. When the
rains stop and the soil dries up, cities die and civilizations
collapse, as people abandon lands no longer able to supply them with
the food and water they need to live. While the fall of a great empire
is usually due to a complex set of causes, drought has often been
identified as the primary culprit or a significant contributi...

Speaking of candidates. Here’s a little Hillary trivia for the

DO YOU KNOW THIS MAN?

http://100percentfedup.com/wp-content/u ... DINLAW.jpg

He is Edward “Ed” Mezvinsky, born January 17, 1937. Then you’ll
probably say, “Who is Ed Mezvinsky?”

Well, he is a former Democrat congressman who represented Iowa’s 1st
congressional district in the United States House of Representatives
for two terms, from 1973 to 1977.

He sat on the House Judiciary Committee that decided the fate of
Richard Nixon.

He was outspoken saying that Nixon was a crook and a disgrace to
politics and the nation and should be impeached.

He and the Clintons were friends and very politically intertwined for
many years.

Ed Mezvinsky had an affair with NBC News reporter Marjorie Sue
Margolies and later married her after his wife divorced him.

In 1993, Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, then a freshman Democrat in
Congress, cast the deciding vote that got President Bill Clinton’s
controversial tax package through the House of Representatives.

In March 2001, Mezvinsky was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31
of 69 counts of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud.

Ed Mezvinsky embezzled more than $10 million dollars from people via
both a Ponzi scheme and the notorious Nigerian e-mail scams.

He was found guilty and sentenced to 80 months in federal prison.

After serving less than five years in federal prison, he was released
in April 2008 and remains on federal probation.

To this day, he still owes $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.

About now you are saying, “So what!”

Well, this is Marc and Chelsea Mezvinsky.

http://100percentfedup.com/wp-content/u ... hment.jpeg

That’s right; Ed Mezvinsky is Chelsea Clinton’s father-in law.

Now Marc and Chelsea are in their early thirties and purchased a 10.5
million dollar NYC apartment (after being married in George Soros’
mansion).

Has anyone heard mention of any of this in any of the media?

If this guy was Jenna or Barbara Bush’s, or better yet, Sarah Palin’s
daughter’s father-in- law, the news would be an everyday headline and
every detail would be reported

over and over.

And yet say there are no double standards in political reporting.

And people are already talking about Hillarious as our next President!

And then there is possibly Chelsea for president in our future!

Chelsea Clinton earned $600,000 a year when working for NBC and now
works for the Clinton Foundation and sits on many boards.

The cycle never ends!

Lying and corruption seem to make some candidates more popular.

government fears the people, there is liberty. ~~ Thomas Jefferson

Merrick Garland, Richard W. Roberts, and the Kenneth Trentadue Murder:
The Deep State Takes Care of Its Own

Not a suicide victim: Kenneth Trentadue's brutalized body in his
open-casket funeral.

“You have to trust the government,” Justice Department attorney
Richard Roberts unctuously told Jesse Trentadue. Seeking to understand
why his younger brother Kenneth had died while in federal custody,
Jesse, a trial attorney in Salt Lake City, had asked to see the
findings of a federal grand jury investigation of the case.

In an incandescent response to Roberts’s patronizing dismissal,
Trentadue reminded the Justice Department functionary that the proper
relationship between citizens and the government is not one of
“trust,” but rather of “accountability from that government to the
citizens.”

“The Department of Justice has yet to account to the family for the
death of my brother,” Trentadue pointed out. “There is no love between
us, and there certainly is no trust.”
By the time Jesse had sent that October 16, 1997 letter to Roberts –
who was Chief of the Justice Department’s Criminal Section – more than
two years had passed since his brother Kenneth had died in a federal
prison cell in Oklahoma City. In the August 22, 1995 phone call
notifying Kenneth’s mother Wilma about her son’s death, the warden
casually mentioned that the body was scheduled for cremation within
hours.

Wilma demanded to know if Kenneth’s wife had authorized the
disposition of his body. The warden replied that she hadn’t been aware
that Kenneth was married. After making it clear that her son’s remains
were not to be cremated, Wilma joined Jesse in Oklahoma City, where
they took custody of Kenneth’s body.

After carefully scraping away several layers of ineptly applied
makeup, Wilma and Jesse understood why authorities had been determined
to dispose of Kenneth’s body. The official story was that he had
committed suicide by hanging himself in what was described as a
suicide-proof cell. This wouldn’t explain why his face and torso were
mottled with bruises testifying of a severe beating inflicted by
several people, or why his throat appeared to have been cut and his
scalp was split open.
"Trust the government": Judge/prosecutor/rapist Roberts.
By the time Kenneth’s family had collected his body, all of the
evidence in the crime scene had been destroyed. In violation of
Oklahoma state law, the floors and walls of the cell had been
sanitized, erasing fingerprints and wiping away blood and DNA
evidence. The victim’s clothing and bedding had been confiscated by
FBI Special Agent Jeff Jenkins, who kept this evidence hidden in the
trunk of his car until putrefaction set in, rendering it useless to
the FBI Crime Lab.

One witness in a nearby cell testified that he heard the sounds of a
struggle shortly before Kenneth’s lifeless body was “discovered” by a
guard. Several other witnesses reported seeing bloody riot gear,
uniforms, and batons belonging to the facility’s SORT (Special
Operations Response Team) unit.

The Bureau of Prisons designated “suicide by asphyxia” as the cause of
Kenneth’s death, insisting that his other injuries were
“self-inflicted.”

Dr. Fred Jordan, Oklahoma’s Chief State Medical Examiner, was
pressured to validate the official story that Kenneth was a suicide
victim, despite the fact that his body was “covered in blood … soaked
in blood, covered with bruises,” as Jordan would later recall. He was
forbidden by federal officials to have access to the death scene until
five months after the death. An application of Luminol, a blood
reagent, left the cell “lit up like a candle because of the blood
still present on the walls after four or five months.”

Rather than acceding to federal demands, Jordan listed the cause of
Kenneth’s death as “unknown.” Kevin Rowland, chief investigator for
the ME’s office, filed a complaint with the FBI describing the
incident as “murder.” He also consulted with Col. William T. Gormley
of the United States Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, who
concurred with Dr. Jordan’s findings.

Rowland, intriguingly, was recently subjected to the pointless torment
over a “sexual battery” charge arising from an incident in which he
allegedly twisted a male co-worker’s nipple. That alleged incident,
furthermore, occurred decades ago. Bear in mind the nature of that
charge, and the institutional memory that led to it being filed
against this whistleblower; this will become relevant anon.

All of the pertinent facts about Kenneth’s murder were exhumed by
Trentadue and his colleagues long after the Justice Department had
concluded what Criminal Section Chief Richard Roberts claimed was a
“flawless” and “thorough” investigation – one that began on August 21,
1995, and was closed the following day. The findings of that one-day
“investigation” were submitted to a federal grand jury – not one on
Oklahoma City – which ratified the Justice Department’s official
story.

When Trentadue requested access to the federal grand jury’s findings,
Roberts parried that petition with a patronizing admonition to “trust
the government.” The following year, Roberts was selected by Bill
Clinton to serve on the District Court for the District of Columbia,
an appointment that could be seen as a reward for his role in
consummating a vital cover-up.
Kenneth Trentadue, Jesse learned from an anonymous caller shortly
after his brother’s death, was “murdered by the FBI” in a lethal case
of mistaken identity. In appearance, body type, distinguishing
features (including, however implausibly, tattoos), age, and criminal
background, Kenneth was a near-twin of Richard Lee Guthrie – who was
in the custody of the federal prison system when Kenneth was arrested
for an alleged parole violation shortly after the April 1995 Oklahoma
City bombing.

For several years, Guthrie was involved in an FBI-protected gang
called the Aryan Republican Army (ARA), which staged bank robberies to
fund white supremacist activities across the country. The ARA was an
asset of the FBI’s PATCON (Patriot Conspiracy) program, which seeded
“radical right” groups with informants and provocateurs.

The Oklahoma City bombing was the result of a PATCON operation – most
likely a security theater production that went badly off-script.
Guthrie is one of several very good candidates for the enigmatic “John
Doe #2” whom many witnesses saw in the company of Timothy McVeigh on
the morning of the bombing – and whose identity the government has
sought to conceal ever since. Just a few months after Kenneth’s
traumatized body was “found” dangling in a cell at the Federal
Transfer Center in Oklahoma, Guthrie died in a similarly unconvincing
“suicide.” Shortly before he was killed, Guthrie had somewhat
imprudently announced his intention to write a memoir disclosing
critical secrets regarding the Oklahoma City bombing.

Implacably pursuing justice: Jesse
The source who told Jesse that Kenneth had been killed by the FBI
described the murder as “an interrogation gone wrong.” Before his
parole, Kenneth had been a bank robber, albeit one not affiliated with
the alpha gang of the criminal underworld, the FBI. He couldn’t answer
any PATCON-related questions, and so he was tortured to death. His
captors may have really believed that he was Guthrie. They may have
realized that he wasn’t, but decided that it would be compromising to
let him live. In either case, the objective was to tie up a loose end
quickly. Fortunately, enough of a thread was left dangling for Jesse
to find it. He has been tugging on it for more than twenty years.

Learning the identity of “John Doe #2” is necessary to solve the
mystery of his brother’s murder, Jesse believes, and the identity of
that PATCON asset remains a protected state secret.
In response to a July 2009 Freedom of Information Act request by
Jesse, the FBI turned over six DVDs that supposedly contained all of
the video recordings collected after the bombing. Missing from that
collection – and pointedly ignored in the FBI’s response to Jesse’s
request – is a video captured by the exterior surveillance camera
located on the Regency Tower
Apartments near the ill-fated Murrah Building.

In May 2011, a federal judge ordered the FBI to conduct additional
searches and turn over all video records collected, from whatever
source, of the Oklahoma City bombing. The bureau has refused to
comply with that order, claiming that if the video exists it is
irretrievably lost in a long-forgotten evidence vault.
The existence of that video is proven by the testimony of FBI Special
Agent Jon Hersley during McVeigh’s April 27, 1995 preliminary hearing.
Hersley, who was among those agents tasked “to further identify and
locate other individuals who may have been involved in the bombing,”
testified that within “two or three days” of the bombing he had been
shown “still photos” culled from a the video captured by the Regency
Tower surveillance system. The film itself, he explained, was in the
control of other agents within the bureau.

During cross-examination, defense counsel John Coyle, challenging the
foundation for video evidence implicating his client, asked Agent
Hersley, “who are those agents that are tasked with the responsibility
of reviewing photographs and film footage?”
That entirely reasonable question prompted an objection by the lead
prosecutor, a Justice Department attorney named Merrick Garland. The
objection being overruled, Hersley identified the agent in question as
Walt Lamar. As Coyle continued to pursue this line of inquiry, Garland
objected a second time, protesting that “we are going in the area of
discovery now.”

The second objection was sustained, the matter was dropped, and
potential “discovery” of evidence that could have revealed the
identity of John Doe #2 was foreclosed by the man who, two decades
later, would be chosen to fill a critical vacancy on the Supreme
Court.

Assuming that the Senate holds confirmation hearings on the Garland
nomination, some senators reportedly plan to ask why he recused
himself in a judicial misconduct case involving a colleague – none
other than Richard Roberts, who resigned a few days later for “health”
reasons. Roberts was under investigation by the Utah Attorney
General’s Office and both the House and Senate oversight committees
regarding allegations that he had raped a 16-year-old witness during a
civil rights case in Utah in 1980.

At the time, the 27-year-old Roberts was an attorney with the Justice
Department’s civil rights division. He was dispatched to Salt Lake
City to head the federal civil rights prosecution of Joseph Paul
Franklin, a white supremacist serial killer who murdered two
African-American joggers, Ted Fields and David Martin from an ambush
in August 1980.

Terry Mitchell (whose last name at the time was Elrod) had accompanied
the two men and a girlfriend during the jog. She was hit by shrapnel
but survived. Two months earlier she had been raped by a man named
Philip George Moore, which was merely the latest of several such
assaults she had endured since childhood. As if the cumulative trauma
of those events hadn’t been sufficient, Terry and her family were
subjected to hostility and suspicion owing to the fact that the father
was involved in a local motorcycle club called the Barons, a fact
seized on by some to suggest that Terry had lured the victims into an
ambush.
Terry Mitchell in 2016.
A few weeks after the shooting, Terry fled to Arizona to live with
grandparents. She returned the following October to testify in the
trial.

During the following January and February, the 27-year-old Roberts
sexually exploited the 16-year-old, beginning with an episode in which
he lured her into his office on the pretext of reviewing her
testimony. Once he had separated the teenager from her mother, Roberts
quickly disposed of the fiction that they were going to discuss the
case and invited her to dinner.

While Terry was puzzled and concerned, and wanted to go home to fix
dinner for her younger sisters, “she complied because … Roberts was an
authority figure and she had learned to comply with those in positions
of authority,” recounts a lawsuit she recently filed against the
former judge. With the practiced, methodical patience of a veteran
sexual predator, Roberts lured the intimidated girl into his hotel
room, where he compelled her to service him sexually, “then raped her
twice.”

While maintaining the pretense that he and his victim were engaged in
a consensual “affair,” Roberts made it clear that Terry couldn’t
disclose what was going on. A mistrial would have resulted, and
Franklin – who had yet to be tried for the murders – may have been let
loose. If this were to happen, Roberts told his victim, it would be
her fault.

After securing Franklin’s conviction, Roberts left, and Terry rarely
heard from him again. In 2013, after the serial killer wasexecuted for
a murder committed in Missouri, Roberts contacted Terry anew. Terry
recorded the phone call and submitted it to investigators for the Utah
Attorney General’s office, which verified the substance of her story.

Roberts has admitted to preying upon the then-sixteen-year-old
witness, but continues to characterize the matter as a “consensual”
affair and a regrettable “lapse in judgment.” Under current state law,
the conduct to which Roberts confesses would be statutory rape or
perhaps even child molestation. At the time, however, the age of
consent was sixteen. Roberts never faced the prospect of serious
criminal charges arising from his calculated exploitation of a
traumatized and vulnerable girl.

Today (March 22) Roberts has learned that the misconduct case against
him has been dropped, meaning that he will be able to enjoy his
tax-subsidized pension without being haunted by the specter of
personal accountability. This is to be expected: Two decades ago,
Roberts performed a valuable service to the Deep State by suppressing
evidence of a murder committed on its behalf. Roberts’ behavior in
raping a terrified child demonstrated that he possessed the proper
disposition to carry out such a task, and those whose secrets he kept
have duly rewarded him.

This week's Freedom Zealot Podcast also discusses the repellent
Richard W. Roberts and his role in the OKC cover-up:

The agenda was amended to allow Andy Steele time to respond to Dave
Slesinger’s comments about AE911Truth. The amended agenda was
APPROVED.

Dr. Mary’s Monkey presentation
Cat McGuire announced our guest speaker for the call, Ed Haslam, the
author of Dr. Mary’s Monkey. Haslam gave a fascinating presentation on
the contents of the book.

Expansion of debate length
It was agreed that the April 27 debate between Barbara Honegger and
Craig McKee/Adam Ruff on what happened at the Pentagon on 9/11 would
be the only item on the agenda for that call. The decision was made to
increase the time for the debate itself to up to one hour with
questions and discussion of up to 30 minutes.

Survey regarding teleconference
Facilitator Ken Freeland asked teleconference participants to respond

on the subject of whether changes should be made to the scheduling or
frequency of future teleconferences.

Debate topics
Ken Freeland raised the possibility that other topics could be debated
on future calls. Dave Slesinger proposed a debate on whether
AE911Truth has become an “encrusted bureaucracy.” As of this writing,
no one has offered to take the negative position.

Aviation details
Because of the length of the call, Robin Hordon agreed to postpone his
presentation on aviation issues related to 9/11 but he was given a few
moments to introduce the topic.

Complaint about AE911Truth
Dave Slesinger offered critical comments about AE911Truth’s policy of
denying others access to the contact information of petition
signatories. Andy Steele responded on behalf of AE911Truth.

Announcements
* Dave Slesinger asked if anyone would be willing to work with him in
approaching Professor Zdeněk Bažant of Northwestern University who has
written papers supportive of the 9/11 official story. Wayne Coste said
he is trying to get the American Society of Civil Engineers to retract
four papers that are not scientifically valid, and he would also like
help with this.
* Cat McGuire asked that participants support Newsbud, a new
alternative news outlet being started by Sibel Edmonds, James Corbett,
and others. Newsbud can be supported financially by going to the
Kickstarter fundraising page.
http://houston911truth.us5.list-manage. ... 91763ac879

supermarket on the outskirts of Hudson, two hours north of Manhattan,
made it clear: The legendary whistleblower is still driven by the same
inner rage that has always guided him.

A police officer in Brooklyn, he caused a sensation in the 1960s and
1970s by officially denouncing — a first — the rampant corruption
inside the New York Police Department. Faced with the silence of his
hierarchy, he refused to remain quiet. When his accusations made it on
the front page of The New York Times in April 1970, the then mayor,
John Lindsay, decided to launch an enquiry: the Knapp Commission.

Among his own, Serpico is seen as a traitor. In Feb. 1971, he was
struck by a bullet in the face during a drug bust that went wrong for
reasons that are still obscure. His colleagues refrained from calling
for help; a resident of the building next door had to call in an
ambulance. In 1973, director Sidney Lumet, in Serpico, immortalized
him with an Al Pacino who would later receive

Former Israeli Intel Operatives Run Security at Brussels Airport

March 23rd, 2016 by Kevin

But wait, there’s more.

Via: sott.net:

The aviation and general security services firm ICTS handles security
operations at Brussels airport, the scene of a bomb attack yesterday
morning.

This will not, however, be the first time that ICTS has come under
scrutiny for possible security lapses leading to a ‘Muslim terror
attack’.

As the provider of security services to Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport
and United Airlines and US Airways, the firm’s security system was
criticized for somehow allowing erstwhile ‘underwear bomber’, Umar
Farouk Abdulmutallab, to “slip through” and board Northwest Airlines
Flight 253 to Detroit with explosive materials on Christmas day 2009.

But ICTS’ security faux pas’ don’t end there. In December 2001, they
somehow managed to let deranged shoe bomber Richard Reid, onto his
Miami-bound flight in Paris, and this was after ICTS had cleared Reid
through security at Amsterdam airport on a flight to Tel Aviv in July
2001 for what was apparently an all-expenses paid week-long trip to
the Israeli city.

ICTS also somehow missed several of the alleged 9/11 hijackers who
allegedly flew out of Boston’s Logan airport on September 11th 2001.
ICTS also handled security for London’s bus network during the July 7,
2005, ‘suicide’ bomb attacks. In fact, two of its subsidiaries, ICTS
UK and ICTS Europe Systems, are based at Tavistock House, Tavistock
Square in London, scene of the London Stagecoach bus bombing that day.

That’s quite a record, all in all.

‘Mason’ Present at Brussels, Paris and Boston Terror Attacks

March 23rd, 2016 by Kevin

Don’t look at me. I just work here.

Via: Metro:

A teenager who survived the Brussels airport attack was a block away
from the Boston Marathon finish line at the time of the bombing and
was in Paris on November 13 last year.

Mason Wells, 19, was hit by shrapnel when the bombs, which were hidden
in suitcases, detonated. He ruptured his Achilles tendon and suffered
second- and third-degree burns on his face and hands.

Remarkably, Mason, a Mormon missionary, also survived the Boston
Marathon bombing on April 15, 2013, and the Paris attacks last
November.

Argument ‘over nothing’ led to FBI employee’s gun arrest

March 24, 2016

An argument “over nothing” between two women at a Hingham restaurant
erupted into an armed confrontation this week as the FBI employee
sitting between them put a gun to one of their heads, according to
court documents.

A police report filed in Hingham District Court describes how the
Tuesday night incident at Gourmet Garden restaurant unfolded, leading
to the arrest of James M. Doyle of Duxbury, who told police that he is
a supervisor at the federal agency and a friend of the victim.

He acknowledged that he had pointed the gun at one of the women, the

FBI Got Its Man, But Family Seethes
(it was the Kentucky State Police who
solved the crime and arrested Putnam)

POSTED: August 12, 1990
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Before depositing the nude body of his pregnant lover and informant in a weed-covered ravine, FBI agent Mark S. Putnam kissed her on the cheek.
But this single expression of tenderness toward 28-year-old Susan Daniels Smith, whom he later confessed to strangling in a fit of "uncontrolled rage," did not deter Putnam from hiding his crime.
By his own account, instead of turning himself in, Putnam called his wife, Kathy, methodically cleaned the blood out of his blue Ford Tempo rental car and then lied repeatedly to Kentucky State Police investigating Smith's June 8, 1989, disappearance.
A year later, after failing a polygraph test, this churchgoing former soccer champion became the first FBI agent to be convicted of homicide. Putnam, 30, pleaded guilty June 12 in Pike Circuit Court to first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
For Smith's family, the year between crime and punishment was an emotional roller coaster of frustration, hope and despair. Within two weeks after Smith disappeared, Smith's sister and an FBI agent had provided state police with evidence pointing to Putnam's involvement.
Now, angered by the plea agreement and the reluctance of state and federal authorities to focus on Putnam as a suspect, family members are accusing the FBI of helping to cover up its agent's misdeeds.
"They used her and they killed her and they dumped her out like a bag of garbage," said Shelby Ward, Smith's sister, who said that even Putnam's latest version of the incident is "filled with lies."
Ward, 35, who has filed a wrongful-death suit against Putnam and a similar claim against the FBI, said in an interview that she believed that her sister's killing was a "cold-blooded murder" and that a more zealous investigation would have led to Putnam more quickly and netted him a stiffer sentence.
The FBI has launched an internal review of its handling of the Putnam case, said Bill Cheek, an FBI spokesman in Louisville. "Your questions are premature," he said. "Obviously, it's very easy for a relative to criticize what we've done."
Capt. John Lile, a spokesman for the Kentucky State Police, said that it was unfair to "Monday morning quarterback" the investigation. "The bottom line is, it's the same result: He's in jail and we put him there," Lile said. ''We did what we had to do. We got our man."
*
Susan Smith grew up poor in the Tug Valley, best known for the legendary 19th-century feuding between the Hatfields and the McCoys. Ward said that their great-grandmother's uncle was "Devil Ance" Hatfield, so called for his meanness.
Smith, the fifth of nine children raised by coal miner Sid Daniels and his wife, Tracy, lived in an isolated, wooded creek hollow in Freeburn, an old coal camp near the West Virginia border.
Tracy Daniels remembers her daughter as a good student and a cheerleader. Against her family's wishes, Susan left school after eighth grade and, at 19, married Kenneth D. Smith of Vulcan, W.Va.
The Smiths had a son, Brady, and a daughter, Meranda, and were divorced about six years ago. But, Ward said, Kenneth Smith stuck around his ex-wife, refusing to leave.
They were an odd couple, prone to violent fights, her relatives said. Kenneth Smith, who declined to be interviewed, worked infrequently and had occasional run-ins with the law, including traffic violations and a misdemeanor drug possession conviction. Meanwhile, Susan Smith began operating as a police informant.
One of those she helped was Bert Hatfield, chief sheriff's deputy for Pike County. It was Hatfield who, in September 1987, introduced her to a young FBI agent whose diligence had impressed him.
"He was really everything that you expected of a police officer," Hatfield said of Putnam. "He enjoyed his work. . . . He wasn't a clock- watcher."
Putnam, originally from Connecticut, had co-captained a championship soccer team at the University of Tampa. After completing a training program at the FBI Academy at Quantico, Va., he was given his first assignment in Pikeville.
The father of two, he attended Catholic church and coached soccer at the YMCA. "He was great with the kids. He was really patient with them," said Nancy Short, who was then the YMCA's program director.
From the start, Ward said, Smith's family had warned her against becoming involved with the FBI. "She had all of our lives in danger" because "people don't like rats around here," Ward said.
But, Ward said, "she told me she had to. . . . It was like she was in something that she couldn't get out of, like she knew too much. She told me that she knew things on Putnam and the FBI that could ruin them all."
Putnam's relationship with Smith appeared professionally productive for both of them. Smith helped Putnam convict a one-time friend of hers, Carl ''Cat Eyes" Lockhart, of bank robbery and claimed to have assisted him on other robbery and drug cases. The FBI paid her $9,000 for her troubles, a healthy sum for a woman on welfare.
But Smith wanted more than money. "When she met Putnam, she thought that was the handsomest man she'd ever seen in her life, and she fell in love with him," Ward said.
In his nine-page sworn confession, Putnam said he had sex with Smith no more than four or five times, always in his car.
But Billy Joe Daniels said that his sister gave him $100 or $150 once or twice a week for two years to drive her to what she said were romantic trysts with Putnam in Pikeville, an hour from Freeburn. Ward said that the two made love in motel rooms, an abandoned airport, mountain strip mines, even Putnam's house when his wife was away.
"She would do anything for Putnam. . . . I'd never seen nothing like it in my life - anybody that would fall in love and get so possessed over a guy like she did," Ward said. "And the way she talked, he filled her head that he loved her, too."
Bert Hatfield suggested, however, that much of the affair may have taken place in Smith's mind. "Susan Smith would have said that she was having an affair with President Bush," he said. ". . . She thought every guy was crazy about her."
At the time she died, Smith may have felt she had lost Putnam. "He wanted out," Ward said. Smith had had a miscarriage in January, Ward said, but was again pregnant in February with Putnam's child. Ward said that Putnam's FBI partner, Ron Poole, and probably at least one of his superiors, knew about the pregnancy.
By April, though, Putnam had transferred to Florida. Before he left, Ward said, her sister told him of the second pregnancy. "She said he tried to shove her out the car door then - and the car still running," Ward said.
A worried Ward began to fear for her sis

Armed FBI agents raid home of researcher who found unsecured patient data
Prosecutors allegedly say he exceeded authorization in viewing unsecured FTP server.
May 27, 2016 2:30pm EDT

FBI agents, one armed with an assault weapon, reportedly raided the home of a security professional who discovered sensitive data for 22,000 dental patients was available on the Internet, according to a report published Friday.

Justin Shafer, who is described as a dental computer technician and software security researcher, reportedly said the raid happened on Tuesday at 6:30am as he, his wife, and three young children were sleeping. He said it started when his doorbell rang incessantly and someone banged hard on his door. According to Friday's report:

“My first thought was that my dad had died,” Shafer told Daily Dot in a phone interview, “but then as I went to the door, I saw all the flashing blue and red lights.”

With the baby crying in fear from the racket, Shafer opened the door to find what he estimated to be 12 to 15 FBI agents. One was “pointing a ‘big green’ assault weapon at me,” Shafer told Daily Dot, “and the baby’s crib was only feet from the door.”

The agents allegedly ordered Shafer to put his hands behind his back. As they handcuffed him, his 9-year-old daughter cried in terror, Shafter said, and his wife tried to tell the agents that there were three young children in the house.

Once handcuffed, Shafer was taken outside, still in his boxer shorts, still not knowing what was going on or why.

Over the next few hours, the agents seized all of Shafer’s computers and devices—“and even my Dentrix magazines,” Shafer said. “The only thing they left was my wife’s phone.” The seized property list, a copy of which was provided to Daily Dot, shows that federal agents took 29 items.
Enter Eaglesoft
A FBI agent told Shafer the raid stemmed from an incident in February, when Shafer discovered a file transfer protocol server operated by Eaglesoft, a provider of dental practice management software. The FTP server reportedly stored patient data in a way that made it easily accessible to anyone. Shafer contacted DataBreaches.net and asked for help privately notifying the software maker, and once the patient data was secured, the breach notification site published this disclosure. In a blog post of his own, Shafer later discussed the FTP lapse and a separate Eaglesoft vulnerability involving hard-coded database credentials.

The FBI agent reportedly told Shafer that

WATCH Secret Service Agents May Be Facing Suspension
A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) investigation into the U.S. Secret Service’s disclosure of the personnel files of Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) has resulted in discipline for 41 agents.

The leaker has also resigned, according to a statement by DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

The conduct of 57 Secret Service personnel was reviewed, including 11 in the Senior Executive Service level, the highest levels of government. Of those, 41 are receiving some level of discipline, according to the statement by Johnson.

The discipline ranges from a letter of reprimand to suspensions from duty without pay for periods of up to 45 days.

The person who was found to have disclosed the private information the Washington Post, has resigned from the Secret Service, said Johnson.

"Like many others I was appalled by the episode reflected in the Inspector General’s report, which brought real discredit to the Secret Service," said Johnson.

In Oct. 2015, the Inspector General of Homeland Security found that agents dug into the confidential personnel files of Chaffetz, who was leading an investigation into a string of security lapses and scandals at the Secret Service.

The Congressman, who is is chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, had applied for a job with the Secret Service years before he was elected to the House and agents were looking for something that might embarrass him, according to the IG report.

The IG found that the internal agency data search was launched just 18 minutes after a hearing chaired by Chaffetz slammed the Secret Service for lax discipline and poor performance.

"This should have never happened and should not happen again," Chaffetz said in a statement in response to

New York, New York - Every year in New York, leftists gather for the Left Forum. This year, the Left Forum took place May 20-22 and included several hundred workshops on an array of topics - from Venezuela to the current electoral climate.

Jess Sundin, a longtime member of Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) and the Committee to Stop FBI Repression spoke on a panel regarding political prisoners called, “What Has Happened to Leftist Theology and What Has This Got to Do With Political Prisoners in the Day of the & 'trumpocalipse’?” and another panel entitled “The Trump/Clinton/Obama Triumpherate?” She was joined by important speakers, such as Lynn Stewart and Pam Africa.

Sundin spoke about her experience facing political repression and the ongoing case of Rasmea Odeh. Odeh is a Palestinian American leader who is challenging her unjust convicted on a trumped-up immigration charge. Sundin stated, “When the government arrested Rasmea, you know their plan was to have her locked up or deported by now. But they failed. We made them fail. And each day that Rasmea is running around free in Chicago, they fail again. And again we turn their repression into a stage, where we stand with Rasmea, waving the Palestinian flag, advancing the struggle for a free Palestine.”

Sundin speaking about Odeh couldn’t have come at a better time. Odeh’s next day in court will be June 13 in Detroit, Michigan. The Committee to Stop FBI Repression has put out a call to action for folks to go to Detroit and stand in solidarity with Odeh. In New York, there will be a rally around that date.

Inspector General’s office violated protocol by conspiring with the FBI to punish Binney and his cohorts.

"They attempted to prosecute all of us," he says. "They fabricated evidence…They attempted three times to indict us."

Binney had authored his own analysis program, known as ThinThread. Invented to monitor individuals suspected of terrorism, Binney’s algorithms included a number of safeguards to insure that the privacy of Americans remained intact. The NSA, however, was not interested in these precautions.

"They used our software and corrupted it and turned it against the people of the United States," he says. "That was fundamentally a violation of the First, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments of the Constitution. So they were scrapping the Constitution, they were doing this all in secret."

Consumers Demanding Online Privacy in Light of Snowden Leaks
The motive behind the mass collection of raw data may have less to do with security and more to do with budgetary concerns.

"It commits the government and We the People to more taxing to keep increasing the budget of NSA to keep up with the volume of material being passed around the world," Binney says. "In other words, it’s an ever-increasing amount of communications occurring year after year, which means they have to have an ever-increasing capability to collect it all and store it all, which takes more and more money year after year."

"It’s like a self-licking ice cream cone that keeps going on and on and on…"

The NSA justified its actions as necessary to protect American citizens. But for Binney and other NSA whistleblowers, that defense is far too reminiscent of those made by Nazi Germany.

"The president can declare anyone a terrorist threat and have the military take them off the street, anywhere, and incarcerate them indefinitely without any due process. Those are violations of fundamental rights of the Constitution," he says.

Fired Pentagon Official: DoD and Obama Retaliate Against Whistleblowers
"That’s exactly what Special Order 48 issued by the Nazis in 1933 did, right after the Reichstag fire. It says almost exactly the same thing."

The US intelligence apparatus is detailed by Binney as acting exactly like a police state.

"They are now basically declaring openly that they are going to use the NSA collected data to prosecute people internally in the United States," Binney says.

"It’s not just inside the US, it’s worldwide. [The NSA] gives them power and evidence to use to intimidate and manipulate members of parliament in any government in the world. Any commercial company that’s doing things [the US] doesn’t want to happen, they’ve got data on them to."

"It gives them a great deal of power. Knowledge is power.

CHIEF OF THE CIA’S ‘BIN-LADEN’ UNIT TELLS THE WORLD THAT AL-QAEDA
NEVER EXISTED
ARJUN WALIAMAY 30, 2016

The number of ‘whistleblowers’ that have emerged over the years
regarding the ongoing ‘war against terror’ is truly eye-opening.
Unfortunately, many remain innocently ignorant given the fact that
mainstream corporate media will not touch this stuff. They are,
however, very quick to jump on the ‘terrorist’ bandwagon when an
alleged attack is carried out, supposedly by ‘The Islamic State.’

As prominent author and Canadian economist Dr. Michel Chossudovsky
said, a statement that’s been used in several articles here at
Collective Evolution:

We are dealing with a criminal undertaking at a global level…The
global war on terrorism…is fake, it’s based on fake premises. It tells
us that somehow America and the Western world are going after a
fictitious enemy, the Islamic state, when in fact the Islamic state is
fully supported and financed by the Western military alliance and
America’s allies in the Persian Gulf. They say Muslims are
terrorists…they’re not the product of Muslim society, and that should
be abundantly clear…The global war on terrorism is a fabrication, a
big lie and a crime against humanity.

The statement above was spoken at the International Conference on the
New World Order, which was organized and sponsored by the Perdana
Global Peace Foundation. The idea is called ‘false flag
terrorism,’—the idea that powerful people are involved in supporting,
perpetuating, and fabricating terrorist attacks, like 9/11 and what
recently happened in Brussels, in order to create a heightened
national global security state to justify the infiltration of other
countries for ulterior motives. This motive, many believe, is for the
creation of a New World Order. Don’t get me wrong, these attacks do
happen, and people do die, but the story behind them is, I believe, as
do many others, a lie.

Again, this idea has been expressed numerous times. Another great
example comes from former British foreign secretary, Robin Cook ,who
told us that:

The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called
Al-Qaeda, and any informed intelligence officer knows this. But, there
is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of
an intensified entity representing the ‘devil’ only in order to drive
TV watchers to accept a unified international leadership for a war
against terrorism.

The list is long one. Below is a video of Michael Scheuer being
interviewed by RT news. Scheuer is a former CIA intelligence officer
of 20 years. He is also an author, foreign policy critic, and a
political analyst. Currently, he works as an adjunct professor at
Georgetown University. One of his assignments during his long career
was serving as the CIA’s Chief of the Bin Laden Issue Station.

Washington’s enemy is an enemy that doesn’t exist. It didn’t exist
when Bin Laden was alive, it doesn’t exist now.

Another alternative viewpoint you don’t hear from mainstream media.
Someone with a background like

You are going to love this.

Ten years ago, an illegal alien named Angilo Freeland shot and killed
a sheriff’s deputy and his dog in Lakeland, Florida, which led police
on a manhunt that resulted in another officer being shot.

The cop killing illegal ended up dying in a hail of gunfire. He was hit
68 times by the SWAT team members’ shots! Hell yeah!

Looks like Florida has a sheriff like Arizona has, “You kill a
policeman it means no arrest… no Miranda rights… no negotiations…
nothing but as many bullets as we can shoot into you- period,” said
Polk County Florida Sheriff, Grady Judd.
