Harris Co. Sheriff's sergeant recovering after touching Fentanyl-tainted flyers

Authorities continue investigating who placed the Fentanyl-laced flyers on patrol vehicles.

So who distributed these flyers, and why?

It appears the origin of the flyers came from Targetedjustice.com, a website that delves into conspiracy theories and claims that the government is targeting and controlling individuals psychologically through microwave beams.

One link on the website even allows anyone to download the same exact flyer that was found all over the deputy vehicles.

Flyers Found on Texas Police Cars Test Negative for Fentanyl

One officer reportedly became ill after coming into contact with a paper printed with information from a group alleging covert government mind-control operations.

Update: On 29 June 2018, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office provided this update regarding what had been widely reported to be fentanyl-laced flyers found on cars parked outside of their station:

Lab tests on flyers that were placed on vehicles belonging to Harris County Sheriff’s Office employees on Tuesday have yielded no evidence of Fentanyl, a dangerous synthetic opioid, according to The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences (HCIFS).

Final results of all testing were provided to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on Friday morning. In addition to testing the 13 flyers, the HCIFS also tested clothing items, and blood and urine samples collected from a Sheriff’s Office sergeant who reported symptoms consistent with Fentanyl exposure. Those tests also were negative for the drug.

#SecondCivilWarLetters: Alex Jones conspiracy theory sparks viral joke

Jones, who regularly promotes false conspiracies theories on his InfoWars show, claimed without evidence over the weekend that Democrats were plotting a civil war on Independence Day to overthrow President Donald Trump. That helped spark the hashtag #SecondCivilWar, which then morphed into mockery with #SecondCivilWarLetters.

Jones has been claiming for years that "elites" or the "establishment" will push the country into an imminent civil war. He wrongly predicted that particular events, such as the 2016 militia standoff in an Oregon wildlife refuge, would start it.

Member of violent men-only fraternal organization Proud Boys goes on Infowars to recruit

Image

Proud Boys is a self-described “Western chauvinist” men-only fraternal organization. While McInnes has included a disclaimer (“We are not a violent group”) on the organization’s website attempting to distance the group from the violence its members somehow keep involving themselves in, violence is in reality ingrained into the group’s ethos. To earn a low-level membership (or “second degree”), prospective members have to subject themselves to continuous punches by other Proud Boys while naming five breakfast cereals. The highest membership level, the fourth degree, is earned only if the member has engaged in violence with anti-fascists. McInnes has also attempted to add “clarification” around what that entails, but his hedging is at odds with his record of glorifying violence. He’s on the record saying he “cannot recommend violence enough. It is a really effective way to solve problems.”

On its site, Proud Boys also displays its affiliation with the violent organization Fraternal Order of the Alt Knights (FOAK), which, essentially operates like a “fight club” and which Proud Boys refers to as its “military arm.” As recently as June 22, McInnes introduced his CRTV show CRTV Tonight with a bizarre montage glorifying violence and fighting in which he claimed, “What's the matter with fighting? Fighting solves everything. The war on fighting is the same as the war on masculinity.”

Nordean used his appearance with Jones to recruit for an upcoming rally, saying "As long as there’s 50 to 100 of us, we can take on a thousand of them ... [I]f you want to get involved there is no better time than now.”

Facebook Said Alex Jones' Threatening Rant Against Robert Mueller Doesn't Violate Its Rules

Jones accused Mueller of participating in child rape and pantomimed shooting the special counsel. Facebook said the rant did not violate its community guidelines.

Image

With his latest accusations of pedophilia, Alex Jones and Infowars continue to test the limits of Facebook's rules. And Facebook continues to allow it.

On his Monday afternoon show, Jones issued a prolonged rant against special counsel Robert Mueller, accusing him of raping children and overseeing their rape, and then pantomiming shooting the former FBI director. The show was streamed live on Jones' personal, verified Facebook page, which has nearly 1.7 million likes.

In the clip, Jones baselessly accused Mueller of having sex with children. "They'd let Mueller rape kids in front of people, which he did," he said on the show.

Jones also suggested that Mueller enabled pedophiles. "I mean, Mueller covered up for a decade for [Jeffrey] Epstein kidnapping kids, flying them on sex planes, some kids as young as 7 years old, reportedly, with big perverts raping them to frame people," he said. "He's even above the pedophiles, though. The word is he doesn't have sex with kids, he just controls it all."

Originally used as a straw man to discredit identity politics, the subject of pedophilia has become a favorite area of online investigation for Jones and pro-Trump media figures. In 2016, Jones and Infowars participated in the Pizzagate conspiracy, which accused the Clintons and John Podesta of being affiliated with a child sex ring in a DC pizza parlor. Last week, James Gunn was fired as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after far-right activists surfaced old tweets in which he joked about pedophilia.

Following the pedophilia accusations, Jones then pantomimed shooting Mueller "politically, at high noon" in an Old West–style shootout. "Make the move first, and then it's going to happen. It's not a joke. It's not a game. It's the real world. Politically. You're going to get it, or I'm going to die trying, bitch. Get ready."

Alex Jones says Infowars platform bans are first step in globalist plot to carry out violent false flag attacks against CNN and MSNBC
Blog ››› August 6, 2018 8:31 PM EDT ››› TIMOTHY JOHNSON

Image

Hours after YouTube banned him, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones repeatedly claimed that globalists and the media will orchestrate mass casualty attacks at CNN and MSNBC which will then be blamed on Jones and President Donald Trump.

This irresponsible and unfounded claim gives anyone who wants to carry out violence against members of the media a preconceived cover for their actions.

Over the last two days Jones and his Infowars outlet have been banned from YouTube and Facebook for violating content policies while Apple and Spotify have removed some of Jones’ content from their platforms, citing similar reasons.

Jones made the “false flag” claims while guest hosting the August 6 edition of Infowars program War Room. At the top of the show, Jones said “false flag” attacks would be staged against CNN and MSNBC in order to cause civil unrest, or even a civil war, and that the motivation behind the Infowars platform bans is that “they don’t want me on air on big viral platforms so that I can respond when they do it”:

ALEX JONES (HOST): But here’s the big issue: They are coming for you, they are now going to launch their operations, they are going to launch their civil unrest, they are going to launch their calls for civil war, which they’re now doing, they’re going to launch their events. And then they’re going to persecute Infowars, lie about Infowars, build us up as this villain, keep hyping that I’m going to send people to people’s houses to shoot people. I’ve been saying for years, and I never said it, but for years I’ve been saying, “No, don’t go out and self-investigate stuff with firearms,” because they’re going to set you up, they’re going to set somebody else up. But they’re gearing it all up to stage the false flags against MSNBC, CNN, you name it. To stage false flags against universities, to stage false flags against antifa, to make the villains the good guys and they don’t want me on air on big viral platforms so that I can respond when they do it. So they’re strangling us and absolutely banning us 100 percent ahead of staging massive events as we’ve been predicting into the late summer, early fall to create so much civil unrest they can implement the 25th Amendment and stampede enough cowards inside.

Later in the show, Jones said that “the next step in their censorship plan” would be that “they’re going to stage false flag terror attacks, they’re going to stage events against the media.” Jones said that the media itself would be involved in plotting the attacks, claiming, “They’re going to say that Trump criticizing their lies is going to cause the violence and they’re going to directly, though, pin the probably mass shooting and bombing attacks on Infowars”:

ALEX JONES (HOST): What’s the next step in their censorship plan? Well, I can tell you. They’re going to stage false flag terror attacks, they’re going to stage events against the media. And we told you this was coming. They’re going to say that Trump criticizing their lies is going to cause the violence and they’re going to directly, though, pin the probably mass shooting and bombing attacks on Infowars. Now, I’d already been getting this chatter. I could see CNN and others hyping it up that I’m going to cause violence, that Trump’s going to cause violence. I could see [CNN’s] Brian Stelter yesterday -- and let’s make sure we have that clip for the next segment where plays the segment off C-SPAN and says, “Oh, everybody’s coming to try to get me,” whole thing sounds staged -- this is all they have left now is to say our speech is bad and that we have to be taken down.

Jones later compared himself to a victim of the Holocaust, claiming, “They always censor someone like the Jews in the Nazi Germany or the Quakers in Nazi Germany before they absolutely rob them and then kill them.” He went on to say that false flag attacks will target CNN, MSNBC, Google, and Facebook and that the perpetrator -- on orders from their globalist superiors -- will “say they did it for internet freedom and sell the idea that see Trump was wrong, Alex [Jones] was wrong, we do have to censor, it’s their fault.” Jones also sold the false flag attacks as an attempt to cause Trump-backed candidates to lose their 2018 midterm election races:

ALEX JONES (HOST): That’s what’s critical here is that they always censor someone like the Jews in the Nazi Germany or the Quakers in Nazi Germany before they absolutely rob them and then kill them. So people are pissed; they see what’s happening. And the intel I got was they’re going to build this to build anger at CNN, MSNBC, Google, Facebook, they’re going to pick a campus, or some side group, or some live event and they’re going to have people they’ve wound up they’re protecting attack it. They’re going to then say they did it for internet freedom and sell the idea that see Trump was wrong, Alex [Jones] was wrong, we do have to censor, it’s their fault. And they’ve got their folks then ready to activate as soon as that happens to go shoot up the next congressional baseball game. So it’s happening, they’re moving, they’re not going to let Trump win the midterms.

On August 5, shortly before his YouTube account was deactivated, Jones posted a video where he claimed that a recent death threat made against CNN’s Brian Stelter and Don Lemon on C-SPAN was a “false flag.”

“The Empire strikes back”: Right-wing media defend Alex Jones after Infowars is banned from several major platforms
Research ››› August 6, 2018 4:42 PM EDT ››› BOBBY LEWIS & ZACHARY PLEAT

Image

After Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes all removed conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and Infowars pages from their platforms, several right-wing media figures leapt to the extremist’s defense. Jones’ defenders responded by criticizing and threatening “the entire rotten tech machine” and invoking a wide range of comparisons to support him, including Star Wars, George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, reality TV star Kylie Jenner, and the Holocaust.

TO HELL WITH ALEX JONES. HE GOT WHAT HE DESERVED

Image

People who defend Alex Jones against his banning from various social media are either clueless or part of the greater inverted Gramscian metapolitical cultural infiltration that the far-right via their Russian and Israeli handlers are perpetrating and normalizing far and wide. Alex Jones was not banned from assorted social media platforms because of "free speech." He was banned because he was openly and consistently engaging in unequivocal criminal incitement against a range of his political adversaries. In other words, he was repeatedly shouting fire in a crowded theater. There are a whole bunch of cases in the US court system at the moment by the families of the victims of Sandy Hooks who have sued Jones for years of public harassment that has gone unpunished. The list goes on and on. The guy is a public criminal and a public menace and finally got the axe -- and too late, as far as I am concerned.

Now, those American libertarians who keep harping on about Alex Jones' "free speech" really have shown their hands this time around. Had Jones been a black or brown man instead of a white hick Texan, these same people would have been screaming for his lynching decades ago. But because Jones is a white man the fact that Jones has repeatedly broken the criminal law in multiple jurisdictions just gets shelved as either secondary or irrelevant. The crocodile tears for Alex Jones by the controlled alt-media crowd is one of the most blatant cases of white privilege on display I have ever seen. It also demonstrates the extent to which this warped, internet based estate is a fifth column. Now, none of this is an endorsement of the MSM -- the other side of the false dialectic -- but it shows the ways in which white supremacy constantly seeks to validate itself and normalize its own criminality while getting complete scheisters and utter braindead fools to beat their chests for it rallying behind it.

F*ck Alex Jones. He deserves what he gets, and he should get more of it.

The Strange True Story of the Godfather of Conspiracy Theories

From Ol' Dirty Bastard to Alex Jones and Donald Trump, William Cooper's deranged ideas have been felt insanely far and wide.

Image
Photos of William Cooper and alien sketch via The Hour of the Time Photo collection. Photo of Ol' Dirty Bastard by Scott Gries/Getty Images. Photo of Alex Jones via Wikimedia Commons. Image composite by Lia Kantrowitz

On the darker side of our culture, though, do you think it's fair to argue Cooper's radio show The Hour of the Time set the stage for Alex Jones?
Alex Jones was growing up in Texas listening to William Cooper on the radio. A lot of people just know the book, they don't know the radio show. When he was on, it was hard to beat him. He really had great delivery, his voice was good, and sometimes if he had a couple of drinks he could be fantastic. It's spellbinding. Really good. When Alex Jones first got his show, he would have William Cooper on every so often, and Cooper's a total paranoid. He's against anybody that has a radio show, it doesn't make a difference if it's good or bad. He didn't like Alex Jones.

There’s a long list of his programs on The Hour of the Time website, and [in one] called "Alex Jones, Liar," he just goes off on Alex Jones. That's 17 years ago, he's calling Alex Jones a liar. When he knows that he's Alex Jones's hero. Yeah, [Jones] got a lot of his stuff from him, but I don't think [Jones] really followed through on William Cooper's ethic, so to speak. If you look through his programs every once in a while, you can see he trashes William Cooper sometimes. [But it’s] pretty clear that he actually admires William Cooper.

Is it fair to say Cooper also facilitated Trump's rise?
Trump is a product of a narrative that comes out of both conspiracy and religious feelings. The idea that Hillary Clinton is part of the Illuminati, as Bill Cooper always claimed, might be cracked, but it carries a lot of force. Conspiracy always wages war against the establishment. That is one of the best things about conspiracy, which might as well be called parapolitics. It would be hard to find someone who seemed more establishment than Hillary. So it makes sense for someone who sees the Clintons as the elite to vote against them. The crazy thing is that many people saw Trump, the billionaire, as not part of the elite. The religious reasons to vote for Trump seem more interesting to me. The idea that he is some chosen person whom God has taken from the life of real-estate huckster and philanderer is in keeping with notion of the born-again sinner who is given another chance through the grace of Jesus. It makes no sense to secular people, but it is compelling to believers. What is left to decide is whether this kind of religious thinking falls under the same tent as conspiracy.

How does a situation like Sandy Hook and the deniers out there—who insist the tragedy didn't happen as we know it did—fit into Cooper's modern conspiracy theory and impact his legacy?
One of Cooper's most quoted paragraphs from Behold a Pale Horse predicts the rise of school shootings by people exactly like Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook gunman. What Cooper said was the excessive prescription of drugs like Ritalin to young children would inevitably create these incidents. That was a legitimate argument against big pharma and indifferent schooling, both of which Cooper attacked. As for the next stage conspiracy stuff, the crisis actors, etc., the stuff Alex Jones is in trouble for now, I cannot in a million years imagine Cooper saying that. To me the Sandy Hook stuff comes down to sheer cruelty. And even if Cooper said many harsh things, he loved his children (even the ones he abandoned) and revered the family. He might have supported Jones on First Amendment grounds but he would have denounced the thoughtlessness of these claims. Cooper was a conspiracy guy, a desperate man in search of some skewered version of the truth, [but] he wasn't a sicko. He never intentionally hurt anyone just to make a buck.

Alan Berg in Denver too had good delivery on the radio and he was assassinated by what would become Jones' side. I dunno for myself though, just speaking through my grandma who loved him. I was too young to know shit about this back then.

System Shock: Alternative Media, Censorship and Systematization

BY MALIĆ · 17TH AUGUST 2018

Image

We’re taking a brief look back into the world of alternative media, reason being recent wave of removing some alt media content creators from social networks and hosting platforms.

We argue that, although ideological censorship is omnipresent and indiscriminate – if you dare to discriminate, of course – taking down of alternative media would be not only small loss, but quite an opportunity for their creators to regain their grip on reality.

Alt media are text book example of the creation of virtual identities that are defended with almost servo mechanism efficiency by their owners, as we demonstrate with some examples from personal experience in this shady, virtual space.

Also, we point out the dialectical fulfillment both ideological mainstream and its Russian influenced alternative find in their hateful embrace.

We conclude with some remarks in “what’s to be done?” department, pointing out to real life challenges we can take on which are far more difficult and, consequently, fulfilling, to oppose the mental engineering we’re all being exposed to.

In unusual alliance, Infowars, Joey Gibson teaming up for ‘street army’ teams

August 31, 2018

Brett Barrouquere

Infowars and Patriot Prayer’s Joey Gibson haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, with Gibson once calling the creator of the show, Alex Jones, “crazy.”

But politics — and conspiracy theories — make strange bedfellows. Gibson, who garnered 2.3 percent of the vote in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Washington, and Jones, an online and radio conspiracy junkie, appear to be forming a new alliance.

Gibson’s far-right Patriot Prayer group has hosted more than a dozen “freedom” rallies —mostly on the West Coast, and often marked by violence — since early last year. Their next event is a “Free Alex Jones” rally in Austin, Texas, on September 22, to protest Jones being booted from Twitter and YouTube. The rally will also feature far-right internet personality Laura Loomer, who has spread a variety of conspiracy theories, many of which were anti-Arab and anti-Muslim.

The rally comes as Gibson has started to make more appearances on Infowars, including as a repeat guest on the “War Room” show on the online channel, since fizzling out in the Senate campaign.

Gibson and Jones have found common ground on the issue of free speech, with both seeing themselves as embattled warriors fighting against a perceived threat of rampant leftist violence that aims to silence conservative voices. Jones has even said that the left intends to start a civil war. Though Gibson usually prefers to spread his message in the streets and Jones in the studio, it seems that their theaters are beginning to overlap.

On Monday, “War Room” host Owen Shroyer announced the start of an Infowars “street army” — fans and listeners wearing pro-Trump garb to non-political and non-Trump events and behaving provocatively on camera when possible, then photographing or video recording the reactions, whether they turn violent or not.

In exchange for the videos and pictures, Shroyer is promising to promote people through the “ranks” in his “street army” ranging from private on up. While the group will initially depend on the creativity of individuals, Shroyer says they will eventually carry out coordinated actions.

“We go out in the real 3D realm to show how popular Trump really is,” Shroyer said.

Shroyer also pitched an idea he calls “university wars,” encouraging college students to wear “Make America Great Again” hats and T-shirts to classes as schools return to session in the coming weeks.

Shroyer also pushed students to film their professors being “anti-American, racist, communist, anti-Trump, whatever it is.” The idea is similar to the “professor watch list” crowdsourced by conservative student group Turning Point USA.

Along with recording professors, Shroyer encouraged followers to drop large banners bearing the Infowars name at college football games, particularly at some of the largest stadiums in the country and schools that have been targets for racist “alt-right” front man Richard Spencer and other activists — the University of Michigan, Penn State and the University of Tennessee.

“It’s time to get active,” Shroyer said in a recently broadcast show. “It’s time to push the pedal to the metal.”

Patriot Prayer rallies have turned violent in recent months, with police in Portland, Oregon, firing off flash-bangs at an August 4 gathering that included the Proud Boys and a rally two months earlier that devolved into a series of fights and people throwing objects at one another.

Gibson, on an episode of Infowars, said Patriot Prayer rallies started because “we saw people beat up in the streets during the Trump election.” Neither Jones nor Gibson offered any evidence of such activity, but both harped on the idea that counter-protesters were responsible for any violence at Patriot Prayer rallies.

“It’s really important that we unite,” Gibson said. “We come together and have each other’s backs.”

Will Johnson, who created Unite America First, a group that considers the Democratic Party to be “domestic terrorists,” told Gibson and Jones that people shouldn’t be afraid to go out wearing Trump paraphernalia.

“We are in a civil war,” Johnson said. “It’s not a hot civil war, but we are in a war.”

Whether the Gibson-Infowars alliance is one of convenience or the making of a long-term partnership is unknown.

But for the moment, the strange bedfellows appear to be getting along.

Alex Jones Claims He’s A Super-Duper Secret Agent

By Jared Holt | September 4, 2018 1:56 pm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byS9wufaCAk

Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist host of Infowars, informed viewers yesterday that he is part of a secret network of undercover agents put in place whom the Army can activate to destroy the supposed rise of communism, should it rear its head in America.

Since Jones was booted off nearly every major online platform last month, Infowars web traffic has fallen and the broadcasts have idled on a handful of time-tested Infowars talking points. In a video uploaded yesterday, Jones tried to spice things up and said that he has been “on the phone with the Pentagon” and a group given the vague description of “the patriots.” Jones said that although he is not personally a part of a “stay-behind network” that militaries created in the 1950s to fight off a potential Soviet invasion, Infowars is a part of that network and that he seamlessly merges “right into it.”

“Yes, I’ll just tell you. We are a stay-behind network for America. It’s the big secret. That’s what we are. That’s why they’re after us. It’s true. The stay-behind network support[s] me. I am from a stay-behind network. Most of my family was in stay-behind networks,” Jones said. “That’s why they hate me. I’m an American. I’m a stay-behind network for America. I’m fighting the Chinese globalist takeover.”

Later in the broadcast, Jones informs his viewers that they are also part of the secret network.

“When I say I’m a stay-behind network, you are. We believe in free market, we believe in the family, we believe in the Second Amendment. You are an agent of America, of George Washington, of liberty,” Jones said.
