Well, OK. It only took me years to determine that I was wasting copious amounts of time on Faceberg to learn about shit. I let myself get sucked into the "immediate gratification" of interacting on that platform.

I feel like my head has been stuck inside a 55 gallon drum while people beat on the outside of the barrel with tire irons.

Just to be clear, I’m in full solidarity with human carbon based bipeds. I don’t care whet y0u identify as, as long as no one is hurt emotionally, spiritually or physically. About ,my last post, I have never experienced the second page to be empty of threads before...maybe I clicked something the wrong way, But in all the years I’ve been here, that's never happened before.

As to heaven swan, et al... I appreciate the discussions and topic ,,, hence adding the beautiful if haughtily introspective music above. I often link music when I can't think of or engage due to time restrictions or other various things in life. I find art says more most times anyway. And being as the clamp down has started, on most platforms, my fear was it had started here,,, but maybe I jumped the gun, Though I hate that saying...lol

I’m suing Twitter—here’s why.

Youtube is censoring channels that involve children in any way, even minimally or periferally. I’m 100% in favor of them doing what they can to protect children—as far as going after child traffickers and pornographers—go Youtube, it’s about time.

Unfortunately though, it sounds like they’re, as usual, shutting down comment sections and demonetizing in a heavy-handed way, without communicating with the channels.

This channel, which is about China, was targeted because the father of mentioned his two daughters in a couple of videos.

You’d think a big and successful company like YouTube could a lot more resources to communicating with their users...

One would think.

Even for publishers that have signed contracts with YouTube and special deals for advertising face the same faceless boilerplate responses. I was reading through some of our violation warnings from Google after their autobot had demonetized some content that was high school sports. The bot called the content "adult sexual material." What a joke.

For anybody that is relying on generating any sort of income other than what you could put into a change jar you have to be careful. YouTube shouldn't be your only video provider, best to pay for your own hosting and not live in fear of getting your content pulled. If the content is good enough people will eventually find it.

Vimeo's quality AND options for revenue generation are lightyears ahead of Youtube's anyway. The only thing Youtube has going for it are panopticon-like surveillance wedded to a 1984-style, unresponsive, totalitarian diktat system of enforcement for their forever-changing set of what often appear to be randomly generated rules and regulations.

Oh! And I almost forgot to mention the fact that they are home to an audience that is made up almost exclusively of the absolute WORST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

Amazon has removed all anti-vaccine documentaries from their streaming Prime service.

Etsy has removed all anti-vaccine merchandise from their website, citing new guidelines against "prohibited medical claims" — whatever those are!

Welcome to the Pharmacracy.

^^Good. Seems like people are finally getting sick of all the disinformation coming from anti-vaxxers now that they're starting to see that it has consequences out in the real world.

If they're so desperate to peddle their goods they can set up their own websites and announce it to the true believers at one of their closed Facebook groups.

"Prohibited medical claims" probably means "claims that are wrong".

YouTube is an amazing repository of music. Among the other things. (Some people never even see the political and weirdo stuff.)

A cooperative video hosting site might be the way to go. Could come with a modest, self-imposed fee to offset costs.

Before there were any video hosting sites, I urged my coder friends to create one. They didn't see any point, or the potential. :wallhead:

The worst people in the world also use the Internet. Yikes! We better stop using that now. Heeeeee. I have no control over shitting people doing dumb things and if they use whatever service it matters not on iota. The amount of "how to" and practical videos are YT are endless and very practical. Plus, if I get really bored I can always go back and find the videos 911 conspiracy videos. Bwaahaa. Of late I've found some really interesting stuff on ancient aliens and pre-Sumerian artifacts. Some really wild stuff.
