Percival

Post by Jeff »

I didn't ban him outright, but rather deactivated his account. He's very anxious to return, and I'd like a return to normalcy and less drama for the members. Thoughts?

Do you trust him? I don't have a problem with second chances, but if I read that thread correctly he acted in a deceptive manner towards you privately, and then changed his tune in the thread.

He's been suspended since last Thursday. Let him back. I haven't really felt he was too far off the beaten path, which is pretty wide around here.

He does, however, have the characteristic point of view which defines the trouble around here - issues surrounding legitimacy around MC/RA. I can't fault him too much for that, though, for you know I've had my own contentiousness there.

Finally, it has been implied that he would be reinstated. Refusing now would raise questions again that're pointless. Reinstate.

I wouldn't say I trust him. But if I opened the board to only those I trust, it would be a pretty small crowd, and it wouldn't include me.

Thanks for the advice. I've reactivated his account.

When I wrote him, I asked that he not revisit the reason for his suspension. I don't want the board subjected to another round of that agony.

I would have advised reinstatement as well, but he's itching for trouble.

Oh, that.

I deleted a post from Trifecta which was just a quote of Mac's last. Funniest thing is he then alerted on Percival's response. I've talked to Trifecta and he seems cool about it now. Well, cooler.

And BTW: fuck. If there's any comedy in a burning house, the Percival's not a troll but breezes is contention is getting hilarious. And you'll love this I received last night:
Give Percival the floor! Finally, finally someone of the jewish community speaks with some true sense of what the jewish people have to live with. This has been a long time coming and i'm damn glad Percival has enough sense to speak intelligently about the situation. If there were more like Percival this situation might get solved. I know he got banned in the past but god bless his little heart for being so patient and writing so well. Its damn hard to have his perspective when you have been raised to believe that the whole world wants to kill you. Go Percival!!!! I'm not saying that the whole world wants to kill the jew because I don't believe its true. I think it is a mind set that is false, but none the less it exists. If it exists, then ITS REAL in the minds of the believers yes? Of course it is. Fear of death is fear of death, be it a real threat or not. They feel every day is only another day they didn't get killed by assholes. Understood by me, perfectly. Percival, and his ilk, possibly, could slowly over generations, calm this down........I hope it happens. Go Percival!!! I support him 100%. May not agree with his paranoia, but if someone like him does not intelligently express it, nothing will ever get solved. Please let this man speak. He is the anti 17 breezes.

I think that qualifies as a contrary indicator.

I am pretty much on a hair-trigger with regards to Percival. He has at least two strikes against him from his previous "work" on this forum, including the "PC in crowd" thread, and his last suspension. That fucker better not look at me cross-eyed again.

i want to ban him so bad it hurts.

I've perversely enjoyed his efforts today, but I think he has an enforced absence coming.
