There was clear violation of the rule on making agent accusations. Too bad. A counter view of OWS is actually interesting and scarce on a board like this.

Is doubting your claims of where you've lived in the past the same as calling you an agent, though? Or did I miss the accusation elsewhere?

Lupercal has spent some little energy on the theory that I am a British agent, as an element of his LaRouchian construct of current events, and, of course, there's really no evidence that might convince otherwise, which is why we have have such a rule in the first place.

I agree, though lupercal's cryptic argument ("Based on what I know it's fake.") isn't exactly what I'd consider a thought-provoking deconstruction. But it is an effective troll.

Give him three days.

BUT SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE YOUTH MOVEMENT STOOGES...I mean....stalwarts...

I see what you mean.

edit: factually true. Several of my high school friends got radicalized in graduate school (Harvard, in one case) and are now part of a national movement I'd only known about through Mae Brussell and Robert Anton Wilson, and thus, until 5 years ago, considered to be a fossil rather than an ongoing mistake.

I unbanned him in the moderator control panel on Tuesday morning. Did it not work?

It should have, if I hadn't also deactivated his account. Which I did just so I could be reminded by seeing his username on my list of unactivated accounts to raise him from the dead. And which I'd nearly forgotten to do, anyway. So my fault.

I responded to lupercal's reports on the anderson cooper newtown thread. I told him via PM that I do not see Baracuda's posts as ad hominems, but that they could have been more polite.

^^Well said and agreed.

(Honestly, the exent to which we agree freaks me out, but I think our "consensus" is really an extended proof that Laissez-faire only works with groups of people who can't stand Hayek.)

Loopy's skin is getting thinner than my hair these days.

Cuda's a wind-up artist extraordinaire, but I don't see anything reportable in any of the reported posts.

FYI, got a strange message for Lupercal this morning, saying the mods have been ignoring his request to lock some thread he'd flagged. Found no threads flagged in sight, responded asking which thread he was referring to.

Anyone know what's up with that?
