Wild fruit

Post by blankly »

Apologies if this has been discussed before. Is it possible to make a tea from the leaves of wild strawberries and/or wild blackberries? I have a hillside full of them just outside my door, and like the commercial red fruit tea, but wonder if it doesn't see much actual fruit in the manufacture.

You can make "tea" from leaves of those berries and others like blueberry and raspberry. They have lots of anti-oxidants. Dry and crush the leaves to make steeping easy. I don't know what red fruit tea is, but many fruity teas are flavored with hibiscus or rosehips for a little tang. You could make a fruit syrup and add some to your leaf infusion for sweetness.
