Re: Jill Stein is Seriously Dangerous
I'll be voting for Stein for one simple reason:
When either Trump or Clinton end up in office and inevitably start dropping bombs and shooting missiles at brown-skinned people overseas, I will be able to look myself in the mirror and say "I never condoned these deaths with my vote."

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Re: Jill Stein is Seriously Dangerous
I have children. I have a wife. I have responsibilities beyond my ideals. It'd be easy to say "fuck the man!" and not pay taxes . . . but when I'm thrown in prison, it's my children who suffer. If I want to be part of my children's lives, to teach them and raise them, and send them out into the world having been cared for and loved, then I have a responsibility to stay out of jail. Yes, that's selfish of me, I suppose, but no less selfish than protecting progressive social values by sacrificing brown-skinned people overseas.
Hey, thousands of Middle Eastern families have been destroyed by Hillary Clinton's bombs, trade deals, and neo-con intervention . . . but at least trans people can choose their own bathrooms here in the U.S. Hey, I'm all for trans rights, minority rights, gay rights, etc, etc, . . . but I'm not willing to sacrifice foreign civilians because I'm scared a fake-right-winger like Trump will scale them back. I guess that's selfish of me.

Re: Jill Stein is Seriously Dangerous
your bombs you paid for them
your life.... your choices..
you pay for this.... you pay for that...
but don't clear your conscience but filling in a oval...that's way too easy and doesn't really count
then how are your ideals real.... if you are not living them?
just thoughts in your head
at least keep it real
you know how not to pay taxes?
don't make enough money to have to pay them
I have thoughts in my head too....but I don't use them to make me feel better about myself ...

Re: Jill Stein is Seriously Dangerous
So let me get this straight, progressives are frauds if they pay taxes, but they are not frauds if they vote for Hillary Clinton to protect progressive ideals . . . which are, of course, enforced and protected through tax funds... ?

did I ever say the word progressive?
I am saying one can not pretend just voting for Jill Stein is a conscience clearer....that's just too fucking easy and pretentious
I have already said many times ...there is no political solution ....that's my story and I'm sticking to it
I am not the one pretending that I am virtuous for just voting for someone
I've already alluded to drinking the poison
btw what have you done to promote the Green Party besides deciding to push a cleansing pencil? I may have missed it
it takes decades of hard work and sacrifice to create a viable third party..if that's your goal

Re: Jill Stein is Seriously Dangerous
Voting for Jill is super easy and I agree that it will change absolutely nothing. It will clear my conscience to a degree, but not fully. In the end, we only have control over our immediate environment and our own actions. I can do absolutely NOTHING to stop the spread of heroin across the United States, but I choose not to buy it myself. Is that pretentious?
No, I haven't lifted one finger to help the Green Party. There isn't a political solution to the mess this country is in. There's nothing "wrong" with America from a political and economic standpoint, everything is "working as intended". I might as well not vote, but I want to be part of that 2% that sends a middle finger to the DNC and says, on record, that they can fuck off. It's the least I can do.
Literally, it's the least I can do . . . because I'm not trying to change this world, I'm just trying to sleep at night and knowingly voting for a candidate that will drop bombs on people overseas would keep me awake.

i happened to flick on Al Jazeera today, whilst looking for some decent sport to watch ( my only reason for turning on the tube these days) and had to smile my usual wry smile when listening to our so called leaders.
Apparently the US commander in chief has just vetoed a bill that requires compensation for the 9/11 victims from the Saudis.
Turkeys dont vote for christmas.

Don't worry, never was. I'm trying to illustrate the unseen stresses which are creating the altering stances or leading discussion. For example this is the first thread on Jill Stein @ RI as far as I'm aware. We echo the mediated environment.
Judging by most of the comments above y'all have nothing to lose in voting for Stein and perhaps everything to gain. Am I wrong?
This was the main Stein 2016 thread I believe.

Re: Jill Stein is Seriously Dangerous
I got all these former Bernie supporters trying to urge me and others to consider voting for Hillary Clinton. Fat fucking chance.
Obama today vetoed a bill allowing 9/11 victims from suing Saudi Arabia. As the US continues to help, under Obama, Saudi Arabia commit mass war crimes in Yemen.
Fuck Obama/Clinton, its no wonder the Bush neocons support them.
100% supporting Jill Stein

Re: Jill Stein is Seriously Dangerous
Jill Stein all the way.
My stepdaughter wil be voting in her first election. Last night she saw that horrible video of Hillary ranting at the camera "why am I not 50 points ahead of Trump?!" She was horrified and couldn't believe what she was seeing. Then, entirely on her own, she started reading about Jill Stein and had the opposite reaction -- she couldn't believe what a great candidate she was -- and a woman. She's super smart, she's in college, she knows hundreds of people very similar to herself, and they have no interest in whatsoever in Hillary or Trump or either of the old stupid parties that people our age think you HAVE to vote for. They're young and think outside of the box.
Meanwhile turnout for Hillary is going to be a record low.
I don't care if Jill "can win" or not, it doesn't matter, but she might have a huge influence in this election and shake people out of this weird fucking binary thinking "it's just the way it is" bullshit.
The country is stuck. Spinning its wheels in the mud. Young people might actually give the car the push it needs to get some traction.
And if you're completely hopeless, what's the point of anything? Might as well start a heroin habit and watch tv.
