So are we doing another year of suspending contributors like Nordic and JackRiddler roughly once a month for behavior they won't change? I'd like to change that, myself.

Maybe put it up for a vote. Sticky it at the top and let it run for a month.

Democracy.

I'm not being fascetious. Serious proposal.

But add a couple of more people. Like the terrorist supporter AD. Perhaps the masses are sick of his shit too.

Biggest reasons I'm "Leaning In" on this one:

1) I want to see more actual discussions here.

2) Most of the arguments here at RI are between ~10 people who have been arguing the same points for, in some cases, a decade. In both theory & practice, this is very boring to read.

3) No community enforces all their rules. We're no exception. Under a more rigorous regime, many long-time members everyone really likes would have been gone by now. I don't aspire to be SkyNet, though.

4) Punishment is not discipline. Discipline changes behavior, punishment reinforces it.

Maybe it's time we gave serious consideration to making AD a moderator. He's selflessly given more of his time here than anyone else. There's little doubt he would keep a very tidy ship here at RI. It could become The Premier antifa site on the internets - as it's original founder had so yearned for, according to the scriptures of the Board Rules. A good moderator needs to be even-handed, unbiased and personable - traits that AD clearly has in abundance. Relieve Wombat of sole duty. It must be lonely up there.

Let's just get real here

Mac Nordic and coffin dogger have been on a full blown tirade for about 4 months now....they are the problem and with their behavior they have only given a couple others the idea they had the right to do the same occasionally and three of those members have been banned now cause they just weren't clever enough to slide under the radar.

I am really glad I made my peace with AD posting here about 2 years ago now before this latest self absorbed bullshit and I came to regret dogging him for so long. Having witnesses those three attack attack attack over and over and over again the last few months made me realize how insensitive cruel and stupid I had become. Really glad I stop complaining about AD before these three started their tantrums. I really regret doing that now watching those three gang up on me, AD, Iamwhoiam, brekin and a couple others. Every member here has the right to post what they want how they want and when they want as long as they follow the rules. Of course people are going to disagree but they have gone over the top repeatedly recently and suspending them has done no good, they just can't contain themselves. They are know-it-alls and it is getting really tiresome.

These three have decided they are all knowing and should be the arbiters of what belongs here, how it belongs here and when it belongs here.

It seems since I stopped posting my opposition to AD's posting all of a sudden those three decided cleverly to combine my name with his since now the gang of three concluded we were the enemy. ...seemslikeanamericandream....how clever

you three need to get a grip and figure out this place does not belong to you......we all do not have to think like you

nope not at all just saying like I see it....oh and yea I HAVE the right to do that

I actually admitted my wrongs unlike you who keep denying your part in all of this

and you are the worst ..pretending to be a friend of mine just to fuck with me

see you can't even take responsibly for your own actions

do you want me to pull up all the crap you have posted in the last few months cause I have screen shots of everything?

bullshit baby name calling

I am not the one running around this board attacking members

and with this ..it will be the last time I interact with you ...I have found no value in anything you have posted here in a very long time and I have no desire to communicate with you further

I think what it comes done to me is post election it seems there is:

1. A little too much killing the messenger here.
&
2. Forcing the message down peoples throats.
&
3. People are losing their sense of humor and perspective.
&
4. Terminal bad romances, toxic pair bonds that should just ignore each other.
(I know some try and them the other tries, ad infinitum, but its amazing what silence does.)

Nobody here has any answers.

There is one thing that you know better than anyone: the answer to one question. Go with that. It's all you need to know.

The focus of the forum needs to return to the subject matter we are all trying to rigorously intuit accurate analysis and answers to. It needs to shift away from personal antagonisms towards people posting, their personalities and their pet peeves. A focus on content would curtail characterizations of the contributor.

While all of us grew through schoolyard bullying, some became addicted to it as a means of compensating for arrested intellect, maturity and compassion. It has become the only attention-getting power for their own imagined persona online. What they fail to realize is that this transparently childish conduct is annoying, not impressive, nor inhibiting, nor at all relevant to the common purpose of the place.

I try to ignore the idiots but get upset when they discourage the real contributors like Seemslikeadream from her valued role in providing a wealth of content, since that is what we are here to read and react to. The negative noisemakers only detract from intelligent, topical and informed interaction here. I would support a ban on the bullies and allow them time to attack their own inadequacies offline.

A New Users Guide to the R.I. for 2017

This is a board where each of us start threads and posts whatever we want in them.

You can then read them or not, it's up to you.

If you don't like what you read, you can go and read something else or start your own thread.

If you don't like what you read, that doesn't give you the right to post anything negative about either the post or the person.

A member's threads are their own safe space.
They can post anything they want within them, whenever they want. Examples of this are their own thoughts, sharing articles without comment (CopyPasta), sharing articles with comment, images, repeating articles posted before and repeating articles posted by others or themselves whenever they see fit.

If a member posts something negative in another's thread, this is a personal attack microaggression and may be reported.
If you post something negative along with *another* person's negative comment, this is bullying and will result in suspension or banning.

Asking repeated questions under a guise of 'clarification' can make a person feel intimidated - and will be treated as a microaggression.

There are four major themes suggested for 2017
The Far Right
Fuck The Trump Presidency
Russian Imperialism
Fuck Trump and The Far Right and Russian Imperialism

Micro-aggressions include inappropriate references, phrases, and unsought interactions, negativity and questions.

If you post something positive and relevant in a person's thread that's great but don't *expect* a response.
Do not talk over voices that are being silent by choice.

This board is a space where members can be safe in their own threads and in others.
If the subject of the thread contains triggering content, the thread must have a trigger warning. Threads which violate this will be deleted. If you have been triggered by content in any thread, the Mod will delete it.

Metaconversations about other posters psychological conditions, posting patterns and motivations are prohibited.

This is *not* a discussion board.
