Don't you think suspicion is more warranted than keen acceptance when considering things that "make you feel much better", such as belief in an afterlife?

Yes I do. People should question all beliefs--especially those they hold most dear.

Of course the question is only the beginning of discovery, not the end.

But what happens when you realise there's simply no evidence for reincarnation?
