What?
The real issue is that there is extremely low likelihood that the speculations of the untrained, on a topic almost pathologically riddled by dynamic considerations and feedback effects, will offer anything new.

So, somebody calling himself "freemason", who chooses as his avatar a photo of the Supercool Smokin' Leader Obama, and whose tagline says:
Quelle surprise!
Presumably what they're lacking is a Worshipful Master.
...is sceptical about an "untrained", unmanaged, collective, embodied effort by the Great Unwashed?freemason9 wrote: The real issue is that there is extremely low likelihood that the speculations of the untrained, on a topic almost pathologically riddled by dynamic considerations and feedback effects, will offer anything new.

He's right. Everyone lets meet up at the hideout tonight around midnight

Re: WE HAVE TO GET OFFLINE
But the revolution is being tweeted.
And I did get off line and go outside but it doesn't feel real unless I come home and put it on Facebook, because there's no one else at home, which is abnormal for our species, IMO.
I'd love to go the Hideout!
Mac, why are you in a bad mood?

Yeah, that guy is a total tool and a troll, never offering anything positive and just being a petty annoyance whenever the opportunity presents itself to make snide one-liners. Basically what you would expect from someone with that name.MacCruiskeen wrote:So, somebody calling himself "freemason", who chooses as his avatar a photo of the Supercool Smokin' Leader Obama, and whose tagline says:...is sceptical about an "untrained", unmanaged, collective, embodied effort by the Great Unwashed?freemason9 wrote: The real issue is that there is extremely low likelihood that the speculations of the untrained, on a topic almost pathologically riddled by dynamic considerations and feedback effects, will offer anything new.

Re: WE HAVE TO GET OFFLINE
I hear you, Mac. I'm trying to find the right balance. I'm mostly off-line. I'm excited to have a new local activist "affinity group" that's raging right now. But everyone might not have such a community in person. And, obviously, nothing beats the internet for pure information exchange and memetics.
So how about two parts off-line, one part online? Something like that.

solidarity forever

Wireless, maybe, makes a good metaphor.
Linked, but no attachments. (Not tangled, but entangled?)
Maybe the revolution will be podcast, but we can't just be the audience.

Excuse me, who's trolling? Or is this just a personal attack?

Re: WE HAVE TO GET OFFLINE
Well, Willow, I cannot tell a lie: fact is, I got led astray, with vodka. Not my usual tipple at all, and I had decidedly too much of the stuff, in harmless-tasting cocktails, yum yum. So then it suddenly seemed very important to go online and tell people (online), in all-caps and in no uncertain terms, how important it is to get offline. Made perfect sense at the time.Project Willow wrote: Mac, why are you in a bad mood?
Mea culpa, and apologies all round.
