So in other words youre actually not sure that they know what theyre doing, or why theyre doing it ? Youre just throwing out an opinion based on a youre percieved model ?Simulist wrote:Maybe, but they would not include me; because while I understand that people very frequently act according to their own perceived self interests, I have no more of a complete idea about how "the world really works" than you do.slimmouse wrote:Would those wearing that lofty mantle of understanding how the world really works include those attributing money power and prestige as the real reason that Obama and Bin know what theyre doing ?
Well thats funny, cos thats all that I was doing. I guess the difference is that my percieved model is different.
In my model of reality, these people are not in their right mind.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, but I appreciate your interest.

All we have are our opinions (and a few facts to back them up) — until new facts emerge, changing the picture for us entirely.slimmouse wrote:So in other words youre actually not sure that they know what theyre doing, or why theyre doing it ? But I appreciate your interest.
(If we can remain tentative-enough about our opinions to let them.)

Responding to your edit:
This does not preclude culpability, however.
In my current model of reality, the world system itself is deranged; the more a part of the system one becomes, the greater the derangement.slimmouse wrote:In my model of reality, these people are not in their right mind.
