I'm concerned by the tone of Harvey's post, and I'm trying to establish that's he hasn't harmed himself. So I'm going to lock this thread.

Unlocking, because I received an email from Harvey and he's okay.
But a general note to all: please take care with your language, so we don't mistake a post for a suicide note. I wish I'd heard from Harvey before I called his local constabulary.

Glad to hear that, Jeff. Thanks so much.

Harvey, your presence is a big reason to visit here. No exaggeration. All the sadder to see you go as it became more clear to me in recent days how much I value your insights. (By chance I added this just yesterday!) Your big picture musings make sense, I just wonder how it fits in to your leaving; not that you shouldn't if it so strikes, but your note confuses me. Farewell!

Very much so, Jack. I agree.

Relieved to hear this. I started a PM to Harvey and couldn't formulate it so that it didn't sound either slightly hysterical or fakely casual.
But jesus, Harvey! (and everyone else): Please don't formulate a farewell to the board that is brief and cryptic and includes the words "I would rather die.".

WOAH! I had no idea. Harvey, these are amazing. I didn't know you were an artist too.JackRiddler wrote: Has everyone realized the significance of Harvey's sig line link to Joker?

I was just thinking of you since you're another visual talent here.Project Willow wrote:WOAH! I had no idea. Harvey, these are amazing. I didn't know you were an artist too.JackRiddler wrote: Has everyone realized the significance of Harvey's sig line link to Joker?

I got the opposite lesson in December. I used very vague language and hardly anyone took notice. I thought that meant I should go ahead and get it over with already.MacCruiskeen wrote: But jesus, Harvey! It's not the most rational place to be, and I hope Harvey is far away from that place.

There are lots of artists here, but some are very shy, and I have a big mouth.JackRiddler wrote:

Well, I'm glad you didn't. For the record.Project Willow wrote:I got the opposite lesson in December. I used very vague language and hardly anyone took notice. I thought that meant I should go ahead and get it over with already.
