Highly recommended radio piece that illustrates exactly this just beautifully (horrifically)
JULY 28TH 2017: BARBADOS EXAMINED (Latino Media Collective)
On this episode, the LMC speaks with Jason Opal, the assoc professor of History & Classical Studies @ McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He will tell us about the extraordinary brutal history of slavery and the struggle for social justice in Barbados. The slave state of Barbados was so horrific, the future USA took notes.

I don't see people apologizing for the USA

I see a whole lot of criticism
We are protectors not protesters fighting N Dakota Pipeline

Dear god...

The question is not, "Has anyone ever criticized America, on RI or elsewhere?" Hope this helps.

As a citizen of the United States, I apologize for my country's violent imperialism.

Why? I'm not rationalizing or excusing my country's bad actions around the world, but rather, I'm ashamed to be part of it.

I support the good guys and gals, but maybe I haven't done enough? Really, I know I haven't done enough. Anyway...sorry.

oh ...now I see we are being asked to apologize for the government of the USA for the wrong it has done in our name....OK I can do that sorry for the misunderstanding of the OP...... maybe Mac could have made that clearer

As a citizen of the United States, I apologize for my country's violent imperialism.....I try very hard to oppose the violent imperialism but I am but one individual

I will take the apologize for my country's violent imperialism oath

Evidence? Shmevidence. Jerky must be telling the truth, because [cue drumroll...] Jerky asserted that it was the truth.
Mac, this isn't a trial, and you aren't a judge. You are not my employer, nor are you my student. I owe you neither an explanation, nor an education. My time on this planet is running short, and I just don't have the patience I used to.

However... if you honestly believe that "Iran" has never engaged in "bombings" or "sabotage" outside its borders, then you're simply mistaken.

For further clarification, I point you towards whichever historical resources you deem trustworthy on such matters, which hopefully isn't restricted to meme graphics you found on r/CapitalismSux.

Sincerely,
J

Beyond belief, literally. Just jawdropping.

I hope some people can still see what is happening to this former Discussion Board, and why it is being allowed to happen, and by whom.

Then just go already. Go burn down a Starbucks or whatever it is you REAL Warriors for Truth and Justice do when you're not polluting discussion boards with your bullying snark and cant.

If ever a poster demonstrated the point of this thread, you do. You are, literally, The Voice of America. "Yes, we made some mistakes, though our intentions were good, but, Fear the burgeoning Iranian Empire!"
I owe you neither an explanation, nor an education.
I.e., You don't have an explanation. Good to have that made clear. Nor do you need one: you're an American, after all. You have them nukes instead, plus that education of yours.

In entirely unrelated news, Nikki Haley is now taking names. This would all be very funny if it weren't so murderous.
