'even the neocons don't want trump with the nuke codes' is undoubtedly true but as a statement it masks an actual fact: he was never going to be let anywhere near them in the first place

the clintons have carried and indeed will continue to carry water for them and their transnational brethren in the near future

the only thing left to speculate upon is whether she'll be tolerated for eight years at the idiot switch instead of four

Trump asks why US can't use nukes: MSNBC

Donald Trump asked a foreign policy expert advising him why the U.S. can't use nuclear weapons, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said on the air Wednesday, citing an unnamed source who claimed he had spoken with the GOP presidential nominee.

"Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can't we use them," Scarborough said on his "Morning Joe" program.

Scarborough made the Trump comments 52 seconds into an interview with former Director of Central Intelligence and ex-National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden.

Scarborough then asked a hypothetical question to Hayden about how quickly nuclear weapons could be deployed if a president were to give approval.

"It's scenario dependent, but the system is designed for speed and decisiveness. It's not designed to debate the decision," Hayden said.

Hayden was CIA director from 2006 to 2009 during the George W. Bush presidency. He was the National Security Agency director from 1999 to 2005, spanning the presidencies of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

CNBC reached out to the Trump campaign via email and was awaiting a response.
Trump Allies Plot Candidate Intervention After Disastrous 48 Hours
by CHUCK TODD and HALLIE JACKSON

Key Republicans close to Donald Trump’s orbit are plotting an intervention with the candidate after a disastrous 48 hours led some influential voices in the party to question whether Trump can stay at the top of the Republican ticket without catastrophic consequences for his campaign and the GOP at large.

Republican National Committee head Reince Priebus, former Republican New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are among the Trump endorsers hoping to talk the real estate mogul into a dramatic reset of his campaign in the coming days, sources tell NBC News.

The group of GOP heavyweights hopes to enlist the help of Trump’s children – who compromise much of his innermost circle of influential advisers – to aid in the attempt to rescue his candidacy. Trump’s family is considered to have by far the most influence over the candidate’s thinking at what could be a make-or-break moment for his campaign.

Hayden has said a lot of things over his career, and occasionally even spoken the truth.

I'm pretty dubious about the whole nuclear suitcase kabuki myth dance.

No shit. And if it's really possible for a sick man to do this on personal whim (as a bankruptcy fraud scheme, perhaps?) then who set up such a situation in the first place? That's seventy years of system-level insanity, if so, and obviously calls for an immediate President Chomsky to disarm it.

Since seeing this pdf, I have been wondering if the Atlantic Council isn't the PNAC of 2016.

http://www.atlanticcouncil.org/images/p ... b_0719.pdf

Read to the end and see the list of supporters.

Also at the general website there are a number of recent articles lauding Trump as serving Russian interests.

The group definitely supports and influences Hillary Clinton and differs minimally from PNAC.

Michael Hayden is one of the names on that Atlantic Council pdf regards Russia.

I'm starting to wonder whether nuclear incineration is now the optimal Elite plan to preempt methane clathrate/permafrost meltdown predicted by Guy McPherson, Malcolm Light, Sam Carana et. al., and avoid the subsequent societal shitstorm through useless eater elimination. Nothing beats global warming like nuclear winter!

August 26th, 2015.

Anyone else think this thread will hit 200 pages before November? Trump's ability to monopolize the news cycle was commented upon frequently while he was putting down the entire GOP field, but that...that was nothing.

August 3rd, 2016 and the news cycle is basically Donald Trump. The entire thing, not just the political commentary and campaign coverage. It's stunning to witness, no matter how cynical I try to be.

Nobody's even made a serious assassination attempt yet (although perhaps someone tried recently.)
