You got that right evil. I used to live in a place very much like that. I enjoyed it so much. Mountains, trees, and water. It is very healing to the soul too.

Beautiful, Puf. I just spent Christmas in Eureka. The whole area is magnificent. I want to figure out a way to move up there.
And the coffee. You can get Humboldt County "Black Irish" coffee up there, which might be the best coffee I've ever had.

Aw, Chump. Taking me back. Is that "Highland" there? It looks like Denver is trying to emulate SF.
Or I guess it's "The Highlands" or something. Do you remember "the building" there in the Platte River Valley? Near Paris on the Platte. We used to explore that place, hop and trains and whatnot.

I remember that empty and stripped concrete behemoth that sat empty - down by the Platte by the RR tracks for so many years. I have some friends who talked about hopping the trains and exploring the empty buildings there - when they were in high school, back in the 70's; maybe before Paris on the Platte was even there?? There was also a tall, tall, tower, that made for a scary adventure.
Here is what the behemoth looks like now:
The pic I posted is further south, locally known as Graffiti Falls, just west up Ute Pass from the Springs.

Good lord Denver has changed. And the very mention of Paris on the Platte!
I wish I could go back, but also in time. It's the only nostalgia of that kind that I know.

Yeah there was something quite unique back then about Denver. Same with Seattle. It's all been decimated. I was in Denver last year and you wouldn't believe the huge sprawl there now.

Re: Pictures of your locale
You might dig this, Chump and Nordic as far as Denver. Just happened upon it on Westword.
