and so what is the United States on the road back to?Except that for the Soviets and for China, it doesn't end at state-capitalism, state-capitalism is just a remedial transition on the road back to Communism. Different script.

State-capitalismBoth Russia and China are dominated by monopoly capitalist and state-monopoly capitalist enterprises. In Russia, state-monopoly capitalism has been a reality since the Khrushchev reforms of 1957, which changed the Soviet Union’s economy from socialist to a state-capitalist mode of production, while China, from the days of Mao’s ‘New Democracy’ to Xi Jinping today, has always pursued varying forms of state-monopoly capitalism.
The very term shows Theyre one and the fukn same when you get right down to it.
With the usual suspects writing the scripts.

It was refreshing to see him write something critical of Russia.seemslikeadream » 08 Mar 2016 01:41 wrote:but how can someone who is bought and sold by Russian press say such a thing
and now that AD has finally starting to become a more reasonable person here I guess you have to channel his old warn out mantle?Still don't agree with his channeling The Protocols of the Elders of Zion either.
I agree he's toned it down a bit, but the basic tune hasn't changed at all:seemslikeadream » Tue Mar 08, 2016 1:55 pm wrote:he hasn't said anything yet about the pyramids in Egypt or the moon landing so who knows

In his defence, I will admit that he is an equal-opportunity witch burner, even Wombat has come under the microscope lately. It seems there must be more than one bad-boy around though in order to give the toxic fungus (yes, he really said that) meme some bite, and here I am sharing the Satanic throne with Tapitsbo.American Dream » Sun Mar 06, 2016 3:05 am wrote:Without a doubt, characters like jakell and tapitsbo would have been shown the door long ago, back when Jeff Wells was a more active presence here.
Nasrallah had fallen for Zionism’s great deception, for we have proven since 2011 that the Arab Spring was a well thought-out, well executed geostrategic project to design a New Middle East in accordance with Israeli hegemony.
He's absolutely correct. Nasrallah did fall into the trap, just as too many of us did. He and Hizbullah had their own, unforgivably narrow reasons for wanting Mubarak and Qadhafi to be overthrown, and these blinded them to the reality of what was really going on. In that way, we all fell for the deception, each of us driven by our own opposition to Mubarak, Gadhafi and Bin Ali and the rest, but neglecting to look at the bigger picture, and we saw only what we so badly wanted to see, and what we were allowed to see, of course.
As for Iran, that's a totally different story. Iran indeed has big plans to be an empire, and the "Arab Spring" was the great opportunity it's been dreaming of. Iran's pattern is to exploit instability and fragmentation -- it doesn't cause them, but they provide the ideal conditions for Iran to penetrate and grab a foothold in countries that would have otherwise been closed to it. This is true even when the instability and fragmentation are caused by Iran's mortal enemies, as part of their own plans.
I strongly disagree with those who dismissively describe Hizbullah as merely "Iran's proxy". This is not true. Hizbullah is highly dependent on Iran for money and arms to defend Lebanese territory, but its agenda is very much an Arab nationalist one. That is in direct contradiction to Iran's agenda, for whom Arab nationalism is anathema. Saudi influence has literally forced Hizbullah into Iran's arms, and Saudi blindness and stupidity (if not insanity) keep it there. Nasrallah has all but spelled it out, in one memorable speech when he described how Iran's help was crucial in liberating and defending Lebanese territory from Israel's repeated invasions and 18-year military occupation, and asked when the Arabs had ever offered to help and been refused, or offered to help, and the Iranians had been chosen instead? Basically, the choice presented by the Arabs (led, of course, by Saudi Arabia) has been either to submit to Zionist occupation and enslavement, or to accept Iran's help.
By the way, I really enjoyed the whole article, which I found enlightening.

Actually, I don't claim to be an 'anti-fascist'. This is part of a theme that I started to develop when you used to throw the term around pretty carelessly, have reinforced a fair bit and revisited yesterday in connection with that 'Dover' article of yours.American Dream » Tue Mar 08, 2016 3:58 pm wrote:Yes- jakell is your friend, he is an anti-fascist, and he would never, ever attempt to manipulate you.
