That was a Winston Churchill quote. But I don't think Trump supporters can really qualify as conservative. Trump is a different breed. Nixon, Reagan, The Bushes, Romney, even McCain, they seem more like strange, wounded church deacons. Even if they had private and public nefarious agendas you got the sense they were trying to bring order, their version of, out of chaos. Trump is the chaos kid. Trump is the guy who seems like he's into prisoners fighting tigers while he eats his steak. And your an idiot, if you don't think that's fabulous, just great, did you see how he swiped his head off, just amazing. I'm mean really great.

Probably. I don't mean to troll any good-hearted liberals like yourself, just the angry ones like Angry Jack. I know it's too soon that I could say anything really consoling. If you could only meet the conservatives I know, you'd realize they're not evil caricatures. Your country is in the hands of people who love it very much.

Funny. The country they love is in their hands now, but do they love the people?

I've noticed that RI is anti-establishment until a true anti-establishment candidate has a chance of winning. Then the script flips to 100% mainstream Democratic talking points. I understand the point you're making about Trump being a wildcard. But he's really not. He's pretty transparent about his values and priorities. And more importantly he's the type who can get things done. Excuses don't fly in the business world, it's all about results. He's already under budget and ahead of schedule with this election. Betting against Trump to get things accomplished, after what he just pulled off, is not a bet I'd want to make. The man just wins. And now he's going to win on America's behalf.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I'm pretty sure you called Trump supporters racist nazis more times than I could count. I'm perfectly willing, and always have been, to have a civil conversation with anyone who doesn't call me a racist nazi.

Trump isn't anti-establishment. He is the establishment. Politics often is the screen the establishment uses to put a pretty front on what is happening behind the scenes. I'm not going to tunnel through all the threads, but look up my post where I lay out how Trump is an elite. And it's not great investigative reporting, its just a list. By any criteria he is. That a white man given all the privileges in the world chooses to be a racist, misogynistic, bullying xenophobe whose only policy is to blame others only to increase his publicity, wealth and control is somehow as seen as an outsider is nuts. He had a show where he humiliated those from the lower class so they could win the privilege of being his daily serf. A billionaire tyrant born to money and has done nothing but increase his wealth through corruption on the backs of the poor now wants to destroy two political parties and bring in ideologues who are all about authoritarian and rapacious programs is seen as an outsider to the establishment, is laughable. And Stalin got shit done, Hitler got shit done, those guys were efficiency experts.

Trump is the establishment figure who said, fuck this telephone game of going through lobbyists and politicians to get what I want. I'll just throw them all out saying they are crooks and then I can just get what I want directly. The plebes will think I'm a hero by destroying the process because I'll destroy it with little truths that add up to one big lie. The lie that I'm an outsider. When I'm more inside than most of the politicians. An oligarch was just made Caesar and you are clamoring for him to get things done?

You are confusing winning, with "winning". That is the same mistake Charlie Sheen made.

Trying to figure out at what point Donald Trump became the 45th President and most powerful man in the world.

Was it the moment Seth Myers and Obama roasted him in 2011? The moment Anthony Weiner started sexting a minor leading to Comey's October surprise?
Was it Michael Moore's decades of being a voice to hurting middle America who at the last moment turned on the Democratic party?

One thing Im surprised Im not hearing...as much as protestors are changing "She won more votes", Im not hearing much discussions of the possibility
the election was rigged for Trump. Or is it because much of the conspiracy world online has turned pro Trump? Such a brave weird new era
when Alex Jones, Milo, Roger Stone and company are now in the White House.

Of course I voted for Trump*. Me and my friends and family all support Trump. Trump has never been the lesser evil to me, I actually want the man to be President. Have I not been transparent about that? So when you call Trump supporters racists, you're calling me a racist, someone you've never met. I live in a state businesses are fleeing in droves due to the tax/regulatory burden combined with soaring costs of Obamacare. I've seen first-hand the socialist utopia leftists want to build and I want no part of it. I've experienced first-hand PC University thought police; I know which side really acts like Nazis. (Thank God I have a science degree and my exposure to the social engineering was minimal.) Anyway. So yeah I feel like you've implied that I'm a racist innumerable times.

*I didn't actually. I had every intention to but wasn't sure where to vote because I changed addresses and blah blah blah and I live in California so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

That's tongue-in-cheek, I presume. You actually don't subscribe to that fairy tale narrative, correct? This is RI, right?

He's clearly an outsider as in, he's not a career politician. You can't just gloss over that. That's not how things usually work. A non-politician does not normally win Presidential elections. (I did read your entire comment, I'm not just seizing on this one small part.)

Of course he's wealthy and has connections, I mean, what would a true outsider look like? A farmer from Peoria nobody's ever heard of? There are barriers to entry to the Presidency that few outsiders are positioned to overcome, and he is one of the few.

Anyway. I am indeed hoping he gets things done because I agree with what he proposes to do.
