Maybe Shakespeare—upon the advice of his astrologers, who could see far into the distant future—concocted the
Hamlet play as a collaborative effort with accomplices in the Twenty-First Century, knowing (without a shred of doubt) that
Hamelt 2 would one day be released to less than stellar critical and public acclaim. That way, Shakespeare was ingeniously able to back-engineer the past by peering deeply into the future, plagiarizing something centuries ahead of its time. (Which was also terrible.)
Or maybe not.

So you can't answer-
If you can just buy a Pepsi, why would Coke spend money advertising?
Of course I can answer. 1) To increase their market-share by luring away customers from Pepsi. 2) To make profitable use of money that might otherwise go to the taxman.
All this is ballsachingly obvious. But what the fluck does any of it have to with your truly insane* belief that the CIA financed a movie called
Hamlet 2 so that no one would ever
dare to compare John McCain to Hamlet?

I've never asserted anything so absolute as what you wrote - "so that no one would ever dare."
Same deal with Coke and Pepsi. That's why I made that analogy that so pained your private parts.
Much effort is put into affecting those who can be affected not to have total control of the market which isn't even possible.
Heck, lots of potential voters don't know anything about Hamlet 1...!
But the dangerous info about McCain as Hamlet is
online. And that could get out of control fast.
And one thing that movie advertising is good at is taking up lots of spots in searches for keywords and phrases.
So there's a high value to pre-emptively staking out that online phrase to make sure nobody can gain and keep too many high visibility online search results using it against McCain who is being marketed as the NEXT DECIDER.
The DECIDER thing is more critical to protect, I think, than the reminder of his Keating Five corruption but they meet at that very dangerous keyword, "Hamlet."
I just did a search for "McCain as Hamlet" and got only four responses.
BUT one of them is a referrence to PRECISELY the Keating Five quote by William Black (Deputy Director of Federal Savings and Loan Corp.) I cited as dangerous to McCain.
And it was deleted from Yahoo Answers and had to be restored according to the link-

Heck, lots of potential voters don't know anything about Hamlet 1...!
Which is precisely the point I was making. And therefore it is now easier rather than harder for people to compare McCain to Hamlet - should they be so boringly inclined, for it is in any case profoundly uninteresting, grotesquely irrelevant, and of truly minuscule political importance whether they do so or not.

Shouldn't your theory predict a John Wayne movie? A biopic or something? And I'm curious, since Bush has been compared to Hamlet,
here and
here, is he off limits? Is Obama off limits? Or do you have to be from Arizona?
Another Obama as Hamlet link. Can we say that
Hamlet 2 was released on the first day of the Democratic convention to put the idea of Obama as Hamlet the Second in the mind of America? (It was a limited release but that got the press talking about it and the commercials have been on tv at least since then.)

I saw a CNN.com headline describing Palin as a "
pioneer, maverick, changer."
Definitely playing up her Western tags, shooting animals, etc. Reagan odors.
Killing things is a pre-requisite for taking office.
I first thought of the gun-slinging hero in the old TV western, 'Have Gun Will Travel,'
Paladin, when I saw the name
Palin.
Earlier this year a movie came out called 'Jumper' that included a...
paladin...as part of the plot blurb. Priming? Perhaps.
Can we say that Hamlet 2 was released on the first day of the Democratic convention to put the idea of Obama as Hamlet the Second in the mind of America?

Just that gawdawful poster of 'evil hippie' Dennis Hopper with long hair looking demented is enough to evoke a halo around Commander Buck McCain as the antidote to the 1960s once and for all.
Dennis Hopper's movie roles all make me hostile to him, like when he played uber-drug smuggler, Barry Seals or the evil hippie school teacher in CIA-Disney's movie, 'My Science Project.'
And making the evil hippie be 'Hamlet 2' for those who know who Hamlet 1 just extends the framing device up into the literate demographics.
BTW, go pick up a copy of the September 1, 2008 issue of Time Magazine.
Every one of the 80 pages is optimized for negative framing of Obama and African Americans using the ads, the articles, and the layout to synthesize them.
There's even a running theme of Obama as a vampire and urgings to White Power to rise up and lynch Obama using sequenced pages of ads for the heuristic page-turners.
I'm not kidding. This is high time for psyops reinforcement of hero/anti-hero memes used for social control and recruiting.

Hugh, what on earth are you on about? Dennis Hopper is an old man now, and he is not even in the film, never mind on the poster.
Here's the cast-list.
Dennis Hopper hangover illustrates conditioning.

DOH. Quite right. Brain fart.
I've seen so many damn movies with Hopper as 'evil hippie' that citing him while posting on several different threads stuck him in my mind for a spell.
That illustrates how these stereotype images can move right in and stay when a place has been repeatedly carved out for them in one's mind. Especially when you're multi-tasking.

Take a rest, Hugh, please. Anyone can make silly assumptions, and anyone can free-associate, but few people feel the need to publish the results of these trivial mental operations as if they were paradigm-altering hard science (much less lecture others on their allegedly absymal ignorance of culture, language and psychology).

Hugh, wouldn't it have been easier for the all-powerful CIA to have simply used their total control of the media to just not report anything about McCain having been compared to Hamlet in the firstplace?
Also, just stop posting forever.

Having just read a few scathing reviews of this POS movie, it sounds like a 'Springtime for Hitler' treatment of 'Waiting for Guffman.'
Asbestos, alcoholism, and child abuse are all used to try for laughs.
Just in time for the beginning of the final campaign season, Hollywood actors (frequently Democratic supporters) are discredited as pathetic and disgusting.
Isn't Al Franken campaigning for the Senate?

Brand-name recognition perhaps?
So anyone who sees the advertising for this crap movie called 'Hamlet 2'
So you've seen the movie and didn't like it? Because it's currently getting
61% on the Tomato-Meter and I must say that I thought it looked like it would be a great movie ever since I saw the trailers for it (though I'm waiting for the DVD. With the price of the theatre these days, I only watch action and special-effects movies on the big screen anymore).
