One way to do that would be to instigate a passive-aggressive bitch-fest with no clear purpose, for those who care about whether this place is undermined. Personally I'm glad to not know exactly who / what this thread is referring to. Evidently, it must be a drag to care so much about this place.

Not really. I think all communication is information, and information has varying quality or at least utility, to sender & receiver. And that improving the utility of information is good manners, its why we're here (online).

I don't think this is about speculation per se, or politeness, or trying to determine anyones motivation. Its about persistent egregious pissing in the information stream.

I'd far prefer people err on the side of inclusion than silence, I honestly don't read everything (while trying to meet out my scarce attention to all who bring some words) - we can't know what will be "just the thing" someone might need to hear, I don't think anyone should feel like self-censoring - it's too easy to not pay attention if it's something I'm not at a point to deal with in a moment, perhaps I'll come back to it and find it enlightening.

That actually is the way it is in real life. There ain't no information stream other than what you decide to put into it. Quit being such a melodramatic asshole. I think the thing is is that I "stuck up" for 8bit. I do not like the genuine speculators getting tossed around anywhere. There is always room for speculation. Even, "way out there" speculation. Speculate away.
