The effing-hypocritical arrogance of these world-class Political-Fraudsters never ceases to amaze me -- If only their hot-air could be tapped the world woundn't have any more energy concerns.

Imagine, criticizing Iran for not guarding the Iraq border, to 'prevent' arms and military equipment from reaching the 'wrong' hands -- as reliable reports indicates, increasingly Iraq Civilians who are resisting and defending their nation from a widely-despised, incredibly destructive occupation that has left most Iraqis worse-off than under Saddam (who was installed as Dictator ONLY through US-directed military-coup and political intrigue -- amazing how selective the memory of US citizens and politicos are!)

Oh, and in the context of the US leading the world in providing arms to all-comers, esp. autocratic governments and unstable regimes. Sorta reminds me of Rumsfeld shrieking about Venezuela's buying 100,000 assault rifles and a few lousy helicopters, which compared to the US's selling or giving-away billions-of-dollars worth of missiles and artillery and jet-fighters and tanks and god-knows what other killing-machinery/equipment to almost every tin-pot despot and drug-lord-King and criminal-thug imagineable ...

In a related story, this rense-linked article on Cheney's "Guns of August" planning for pre-emptive or rataliatory attack on Iran based on more fudged 'Intelligence' evaluation is noteable:
www.rense.com/general67/gunsofaug.htm

The 'leaked' results of a comprehensive NIE that contradicts the Cheney/Rumsfeld hysterical rantings about Iran's immanent nuclear-capability would seem to be a deliberate reaction by outraged and appalled members of the US military and intelligence institution who strongly take exception to the seemingly insane antics of the neocon war-mongers, esp. Cheney who is displaying a Hitler-type Bunker-mentality (as the article describes) -- perhaps seeing war with Iran (or another ME nation) as the only way 'out' of the dilemna the Bush Administration's lies and misfeasance, corruption and reckless irresponsibility has led it to.

Starman

Planting seeds, aren't those mass-media bastards. They serve their masters well. Good Gawd! Did someone turn up the thermostat, or are things coming to a boil?! The Iran tid-bits in the press are little germinations of thought meant to spread across the "sheeple". The firing of this Gen. Byrnes is a much deeper story than anyone in the MM is letting on at the moment. And, there's just no way any evidence/supositions of a military coup (for, or against bush) would ever "hit the papers". Fitz-ie must of really smashed his fist into the hornet's nest to cause such a stir. The Russian/Chinese "exercises" are no coincidence. They've sat on the sidelines too long while we had our way with the world. Don't expect them to "sit out" the next 9/11. Stay tuned for the next exciting episode!

You know what is really sad about this?

I mean besides how slow EZ board is moving right now...sigh.

I was thinking of sending an email to the list of my local peace group here about these ominous developments. Now, I certainly remain skeptical, because these sorts of rumors get started (I think intentionally) from time to time...testing the waters? who knows?

Anyway, this one seems rather serious. But I realized, if I do post about this, no one in that group will take it seriously. I don't know, maybe I should do it anyway, but if it doesn't materialize, I look like more of a paranoid freak.

I did send this info to more aware friends on the west coast and asked them to think about some things that our friends on this board not from the US might also want to think about, such as safe routes out of the country for those who need them. I'm not saying everyone should leave the country, but there will be those who have no choice if this comes to pass.

I would recommend people be thinking of what sorts of things we ought to be prepared for in the event these things come to pass. Maybe a new thread? Safe routes, communication, legal support (for those who get swept up...see thread on martial law plans) etc. If you want to be really paranoid, and I am, I'd keep the discussion rather general on here...certainly don't give out your Canadian Uncle Bill's phone number who says he'll help out or whatever!

And if this isn't the BIG ONE, so to speak...well, it never hurts to think of these things ahead of time, no?

Adding with edit: This link provided by LibertyorDeath: www.whatdoesitmean.com/index796.htm

is interesting. Something definitely quite serious is happening with the resignation of Gen. Byrne, but I feel confident that it doesn't involve soldiers in blue and gray uniforms charging their clattering steeds through the hallways of the Pentagon, firing revolvers at each other.

Edited by: robertdreed at: 8/10/05 10:38 pm

Skolnick

8/10/5

"The occupant and resident of the White House, George W. Bush, has secretly ordered the bulk of the U.S. Troops in Germany, to be quietly sent over the next 18 months to Romania. Why and How?

Some background.

In World War 2, the German forces were hoping to conquer Cairo and go East from that, to take over the oil fields of Iran, to support the Nazi war machine. The first Shah of Iran, Peacock Throne Pahlavi (1925), Persian dictator, pro-Hitler, would have made a useful German ally. It was not to be despite the efforts of "The Desert Fox", General Rommel, much later assassinated by the Gestapo in an aborted effort by Rommel and others to assassinate Adolf Hitler and overthrow the Nazi government, to spare the German common people further bloodshed because they followed and believed a madman and a demagogue.

As an alternative, Germany was using the Ploesti oil fields of Romania. U.S. bombers, in a far from successful raid, targeted Ploesti. Many U.S. airmen died in the tragic effort.

The post-war dictators of Romania, in a violent coup, were supposedly overthrown and replaced by the dictators' surrogates, the current pliable group.

In the post-war period, too many Americans, and others, came to believe that Romania's oilfields were depleted. Knowledgeable sources, however, contend that Romania has sufficient oil reserves currently for another ten years. Moreover, large deposits of natural gas have been discovered offshore Romania, in the Black Sea.
Also, too many Americans, and others, have forgotten that Germany, now consolidated as one nation, East and West, is still a foreign-military-occupied country. More than sixty years after the Second War, large numbers of U.S. armed forces are stationed and garrisoned in Germany.

Commander-in-Chief Bush has arbitrarily and unfairly imposed on the occupied German government that Germany supposedly "agree" and "co-operate" to the removal of upwards of seventy five thousand U.S. troops over the next 18 to be sent to Romania. As an alternative to the failed U.S. invasion of oil-rich Iraq, done without a U.S. Constitution-mandated Declaration of War by Congress, Bush seeks to control the oil and natural gas riches of Romania. And Bush schemes to have a dagger against Russian power in the Mid-East, Central Asia, and nearby lands.
www.cloakanddagger.de/med...20_78_.htm

A well-kept secret is that Bush ordered to be built in Romania the largest U.S. military base outside the U.S. mainland.

So far, Moscow boss V. Putin has appeared to be tolerant and patient as the U.S. surrounds Russia, on all sides, with U.S. war bases. The Russian people are not enemies of the American people and vice versa as well. Like in the U.S. there is. however, an element in the Russian military that is bloodthirsty. They strongly insist that Putin safeguard "Mother Russia" and reverse, with war if needed, the U.S. military base encirclement of Russia.

While this is happening, the new royal dictator of Saudi Arabia appears not to trust large portions of Saudi investments in the U.S. As a start, Saudi has ordered the withdrawal of over 350 Billion dollars of their funds sent to the U.S. just in the past 18 months. Some assert that the Bush administration, to assure continuing oil from Saudi, by the U.S. military dividing up Saudi, with the U.S. military occupying with an iron fist the Eastern portion from which the oil comes.

By setting up the huge U.S. Military base in Romania, Bush intends to make use of the oil and natural gas from Romania at the same time being in a position to deter, or threaten, Putin if Russia interferes with Bush's mad plan to either bomb and/or invade Iran, adjacent to Russia and a Russian client State.

On the other hand, Putin reminds Bush that Russia, through one pipeline, supplies most of the natural gas energy to Central and Western Europe. If Europe goes along with Bush's secret Romania insanity, many parts of Europe will freeze in the winter.

All this is occurring against a backdrop of efforts by a group of U.S. Admirals and Generals, called in military jargon flag officers, to invoke provisions of the Uniform Military Code, authorizing them to arrest their Commander-in-Chief Bush for treason, committed against the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and the American common people.

If Bush has them arrested for mutiny, and if they are not assassinated, they intend to prove at Courts Martial, that Bush is a fictitious President; that he caused by bribery a Five-Judge majority of the U.S. Supreme Court to corruptly and arbitrarily install Bush as the occupant and resident of the Oval Office in 2000 and a further fake presidency by massive election computer fraud in 2004; that George W. Bush as supervised by Daddy Bush, with the full assistance and treachery of their joint mistress Condoleeza Rice, had full prior knowledge of 9-11 and caused the murder of three thousand fellow Americans; that George W. Bush started an unconstitutional war by fraud and deceit amounting to treason, invading Iraq; that George W, Bush caused the death and serious wounding in mind and body of many thousands of American men and women sent to Iraq as an invading force, serving no legitimate American purpose other than aiding and abetting the conspiratorial Oil Cartel including Richard Cheney and the Bush Crime Family.
That flag officers, to support their position, have undisputed documentary proof of the crimes of George W. Bush and Daddy Bush.

Actually, President John F. Kennedy was publicly executed in an open car in Dallas, by the Anglo-American Aristocracy, constituting a coup. That every President after JFK covered up this overthrow of the Presidency.

So that those brave and patriotic flag officers in the process now of arresting treasonous Bush, are, for the good of fellow Americans, conducting a counter-coup.

To try to stop this counter-coup, Bush has ordered one of the flag officers, a General, to be arrested. The unfortunate reality now becoming evident to those knowing about this, is that the friction between the North and the South, continues from the end of the War Between The States in 1865 to now.

Some Northern flag officers vow to make the counter-coup successful. On the other hand, Southern flag officers have taken up arms against the Northern flag officers. There has been unreported bloodshed among the highest level of the U.S. Military, "

You know, I get tired of having my chain yanked. Skolnick is still reporting that a shooting war has begun within the US forces. The only change is that now his scrolling text is white, not red. Barrett echoed that sentiment during his discussion of the LNO mission. He said the lessons learned from the various liaison countries has “contributed greatly” to the successful training of U.S. forces ramping up for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

“We are very proud that we have been able to contribute to that effort,” said Col. Shalom Levy, Israeli liaison officer. “One of the most important things I think we bring to the table is our extensive experience in dealing with terrorism.

“Unfortunately, many of our lessons-learned were paid for with blood,” Levy added. “But we want to share those with our best friends in the world so you don’t have to pay the same price.”

Referring to an earlier phone call during which he was able to provide some helpful insights about anti-tank mines, Levy said it’s the largest part of his LNO mission. He also held up a military manual used in one of the leadership development courses at Fort Leavenworth, Kans., and made note of some of the content that was contributed by the Israeli army.

“We, in return, are benefiting from your experience with digitization and Land Warrior,” Levy said. “It is a very productive environment, and I am very proud to represent Israel in such a positive manner.”

Looking to the future, Levy said he has little doubt that future conflicts will resemble the situations in Afghanistan and Iraq rather than large force-on-force skirmishes. “We are all dealing with the same threats of terrorism,” he said. “We must stress new technology to protect our troops and the importance of flexibility and agility. For that reason, I would say the U.S. Army’s Transformation effort is very much on the right track.”

Reshaping leader-development training and placing extra emphasis on Warrior Ethos are also among the aspects of Transformation the LNOs said they admire most. In the Netherlands, the “all-conscript” Army came to an end roughly six years ago, and, according to Wolters, his forces are using part of the U.S. model to develop “professional soldiers” who are fully prepared for the Joint warfighting environment.

Silk highlighted TRADOC commander Gen. The USA needed help conducting mass interrogations of Arabic-speaking detainees. The Israelis may be brilliant linguists, but they cannot match Arabs speaking their own language. But there is a significant difference between the Egyptian and Jordanian interrogation techniques and those of the Israelis. For the Egyptian and Jordanian secret services, physical torture is an essential part of interrogation and a key element in breaking the prisoner's will and making them co-operative.

In the past, Shin Bet would use torture when it interrogated prisoners. But 20 years ago, an Israeli government committee investigated the security service's practices and the use of torture was subsequently banned, forcing Shin Bet to adopt a variety of techniques that did not cause physical damage. These new methods are much more palatable to US sensibilities. They also brought faster and more convincing results.

Foreign Report has learnt that top Shin Bet interrogation experts were sent to Iraq to help with the most difficult interrogations, such as the captured heads of the Iraqi intelligence - and perhaps with former president Saddam Hussein. US sources say that in spite of the incidences of abuse in Abu Ghraib prison, such events are not representative of the sophisticated methods that Shin Bet used in Iraq.

Most of the Shin Bet interrogators are of Ashkenazim (European) origin who study the Arabic language only when they are in their twenties after joining the security service. Before each interrogation a psychologist who has studied in depth the mental profile of the prisoner is consulted. The interrogator will also read intelligence reports about their charge.
