The video posted above is an example of how it would not matter if the claimed thesis (e.g., that covid is some routine flu-type contagion vastly exaggerated so as to implement a global lockdown and transformation plan) was true or not. The methods used by the "Citizen Reporters" would still be a lie. They would still be showing nothing, and claiming it was proof of something. Or showing proof of the opposite, and giving it the reverse label. They would still be rejects from the James O'Keefe School of Churnalism.

I've been a recipient of Mac's below-the-belt attacks and he can be insufferable at times but his offenses are minor compared to the wealth of critical thinking he brings to this board.

If he goes, a lot goes with him. Bad decision, banning him. Especially at this critical juncture.

Serious proposal—Why don’t we all make one or more visits to the emergency rooms of local hospitals and report back on what we find. We both live in NYC Jack, right? I already went to Columbia Hospital on Broadway in Inwood, next I’ll go to Montefiore. You can go to some other one (or more).

Fear porn about New York showing bodies being loaded into long refrigerator trucks and the like is being broadcast all over the world in sensationalistic news shows. Let’s go see for ourselves and report back. We all live close to a hospital in some city someplace in the world. Let’s be proactive.

That way we can see with our own eyes and share what we find. I’d like to know what’s really going on.

On TV and in newspapers the constant drumbeat seems to be about equipment—PPE’s, masks, ventililors—constant talk about equipment for a tide of serious cases that is sure to come.

Looking forward to hearing some news!

While I’m at it I’ll add one more thing—I did see Operator Kos’ posts in the Covid is seriously dangerous thread. First I want to say that because of his efforts to help survivors through his art, he’s one of the posters I most respect, and now that I know he’s a nurse my respect has doubled or tripled.

He’s probably too busy but I wish, without violating any Hippa codes or privacy of patients of course, he could update us and/or flesh out some details of what he’s experiencing.

Really bad idea on so many levels. Why would you want everyone to flood the hospitals that are already stressed and overwhelmed right now, if not from covid patients yet, but from preparing for them? Do you think the doctors, nurses and staff will appreciate that? Why would you willingly expose yourself by going into a hospital at all right now (unless absolutely necessary)? Even in relatively good times they are full of pathogens run rampant. Thousands die every year from superbugs like c-diff which killed my 64 year old healthy relative in December. Have you been tested? How do you know you aren't an asymptomatic carrier?

And why do you think it's cool to film and violate people's privacy while they're in the hospital?

Jack already pointed out the obvious things like ambulances don't take people into the lobby so the lobbies are empty. People are not having elective surgeries. Nobody can visit people at the hospitals. Everyone is told to not go there unless you are extremely sick or injured.

How is it sensationalistic by showing the actual refrigeration trucks they're using? Should they hide them with tarps or paint Elsie the Cow on the outside of the trucks? Funeral homes in NYC are running out of air conditioned rooms for the quadruple amount of bodies they're receiving, begging hospitals to keep them longer.

Common sense has left the room.

I agree with you and Jack on this Blue. Hospitals are losing big because of the cancellation of elective procedures. So parking lots are empty, so what.

Still the modeled fatalities are not running as high as projections, hope that doesn't disappoint anyone.

Hope that snark wasn't aimed at me. I already stated awhile ago in one of these covid threads that the death numbers (directly from the disease) were not going to be more than other pandemics. It's the collateral damage to the infrastructure, especially in the US where despite what the Whacko VP said yesterday (greatest healthcare system in the world!!!1!!11) the system is held together with scotch tape. More than half of the American population has "underlying health conditions" many of them the exact kind covid turns into a death or near-death situation: lung disease, heart disease, hypertension, obesity. Half of the millennials have chronic diseases. Poor folk don't even have hospitals or doctors in rural areas. So while the official count of fatalities might not be high, due to lack of testing, suppression of numbers and indirect deaths: marginally unhealthy people being pushed into chronic situations, does that mean it's all a hoax?

A lot of people sure are going out of their way to stir up the chaos by saying things like "oh, they're counting regular old people deaths as covid deaths in order to inflate the numbers and scare us" when all evidence leads to the exact opposite conclusion.
