All these attempts to smear the boy's reputation are disgusting. Maybe even actionable.
Agreed.

Additionally, George Zimmerman claims that Trayvon Martin came up behind him; which is a blatant lie on the face of it. Since Zimmerman had already claimed — during the 911 call — that this young black man was suspicious, then why would he later turn his back on him?

Trayvon Martin in morgue 3 days as 'John Doe' after mom reported him missing

SANFORD, Florida (Isabelle Zehnder reporting) – The Sanford Police Department's handling of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin is under intense scrutiny, and many say “rightfully so.”

There appear to be many glaring errors on the part of the police department including, his parents say, the fact that police failed to identify their son more quickly.

Trayvon was reported missing by his mother, yet his body was left in the morgue for three days classified as “John Doe,” ABC News reports. This report conflicts with an interview PEOPLE did with Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin - see below.

According to the ABC News article, the family said officers didn’t bother to ask neighbors if they recognized Trayvon, who had been staying with his father who lives in the neighborhood where he was shot.

Police reportedly had Trayvon’s cellphone in their possession yet they alledgedly made no attempts to call his friends or family whose numbers could have been retrieved from his phone. According to his girlfriend, she and Trayvon were talking on the phone moments before he was shot and killed by 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain, George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman guarded the gated community where Trayvon’s father lives. Trayvon was on his way to his father’s home the night he was shot, returning from a convenience store where he had bought a can of Arizona iced tea and Skittles.

On the night of Trayvon’s death, Zimmerman admitted to shooting him, saying he did so in self defense. There were witnesses who are speaking up saying they believe Zimmerman was the aggressor and that he pursued Trayvon – not the other way around.

The public believes grave errors were made by the Sanford Police Department and that Trayvon's killer, Zimmerman, should be behind bars. To date, he remains a free man and reportedly still has his concealed weapons permit.

Zimmerman was armed with a 9mm gun that he used to shoot and kill Trayvon last month, Trayvon was unarmed.

Local officials now say they have called for a full review of the investigation by the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department.

PEOPLE interview with Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin

Another article, written by PEOPLE, indicates Trayvon Martin's father reported his son missing the morning after he was shot and killed. According to the interview PEOPLE had with Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin, he was not concerned when his son didn't return home the evening he was shot because he thought he might have gone to the movies with his responsible older cousin. He went to sleep, and when he awoke to find his son gone he grew concerned. He made several phone calls, no one knew where Trayvon was.

Tracy Martin called the Sanford Police who came to his home the morning after the shooting. When he told police about his son's disapperance, police asked him for a photo of his son. Tracy showed the police officer a photo of Trayvon he had saved on his cellphone. The officer said he was going to show Martin a photo to see if it was his son. It was a photo of Trayvon's dead body.

It is unclear why ABC News reported that Trayvon's body was left in the morgue for three days, classified as "John Doe."

Some are skeptical and fear this will be another case like Caylee Anthony, the Florida toddler who went missing and was found dead. Her mother, Casey Anthony, was charged in her death but was found not guilty by a jury of her peers.

On February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin, 17, was walking home from a convenience store after purchasing an Arizona iced tea and Skittles. Moments later he was lying dead on the ground, shot to death by volunteer neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman, 28.

Yes and also, an autopsy report showing how close the gun was, bullet trajectory, etc.

the police did jack shit, they hauled the corpse in as a john doe because they couldn't be bothered to look at the cell phone he had.

Report: Lead investigator wanted to arrest Zimmerman for shooting unarmed teen Trayvon Martin

By: WFTS Staff
SANFORD, Fla. - A lead investigator into the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin wanted to charge neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman with manslaughter, according to a report from ABC News.
The news agency said they confirmed the information from 'multiple sources.'
The state attorney's office, headed by Norman Wolfinger, told investigator Chris Serino that there was not enough evidence to press charges.
Serino filed an affidavit on Feb. 26, the night Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman, saying he did not believe Zimmerman's version of events.
The City of Sanford later issued an alert to "clarify a statement made related to the police report."
In part, the alert read "A reporter stated that based on the description of the incident on the report, that the officer on scene wished to have Mr. Zimmerman arrested and charged with the 'Uniform Crime Code' listed on the report. That is not accurate. All police reports from all law enforcement agencies require a 'Uniform Crime Code' to qualify an incident and for statistical purposes for tracking types of incidents. This code does not indicate a formal charge that will be lodged against an alleged offender. It is used for internal processing and to type cases.

All we have to do to expose this hypocrisy is to imagine the outcome if Zimmerman had been black and Trayvon white.

Spike Lee tweets Zimmerman's address, was wrong about it, and has endangered an innocent woman's life.

Reddit is all over this. It's gonna be ugly...

Addendum:
Something about that website didn't feel right to me after posting so I snooped around and found:
About Us

Founded by Tucker Carlson, a 20-year veteran of print and broadcast media, and Neil Patel, former chief policy adviser to Vice President Cheney, The Daily Caller is a 24-hour news site providing original reporting* from an experienced team of professional reporters, thought-provoking commentary and breaking news. In addition to hard news reporting and commentary, The Daily Caller features:

- The DC Trawler: Washington’s most entertaining political blog – hosted by Jim Treacher

Could this be some kind of attempt to fan the flames by these guys?

*providing original reporting, eh?

Take that for granted on any social media platform post-2010. The IO term isn't "censorship" it's "persona management."

So is someone paying this Joe Oliver? That was O'donnell's question point blank, and Oliver denied it, but why would you go all over national TV and even quit your job for a family acquaintance? And he doesn't even know Zimmerman's violent history... and he doesn't tell the press that he used to work with Zimmerman... the whole thing is shady. Not to mention Oliver just doesn't come off as sincere. Though I suppose he could just be doing it as a family favor, being the the token black guy....

p.s. Caught that Bobby Rush action- that was dope. All activist-style, with the hoodie under the suit; nice metaphor for an ex-Black Panther now in the House.

Not that his family relationships are relevant of course:

Killer of Trayvon Martin is son of retired Virginia State Supreme Court Judge

CNN revealed a telling piece of information Friday that has been missed by many of the media outlets covering the slaying of 17-year old Trayvon Martin by a neighborhood watch captain on Feb. 26.

"The portrayal of George Zimmerman in the media, as well as the series of events that led to the tragic shooting, are false and extremely misleading," his father, a retired magistrate judge, wrote in a letter published in the Orlando Sentinel. "Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas."

"George is a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends," Robert Zimmerman wrote. "He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever." (Emphasis added.)

Might this explain why, when he was first taken to police headquarters on Feb. 26, the lead investigator wanted to bring charges against Zimmerman, saying he was unconvinced of the 28-year old's description of events.

ABC News reports:

The lead homicide investigator in the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin recommended that neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter the night of the shooting, multiple sources told ABC News.

But Sanford, Fla., Investigator Chris Serino was instructed to not press charges against Zimmerman because the state attorney's office headed by Norman Wolfinger determined there wasn't enough evidence to lead to a conviction, the sources told ABC News.

According to Think Progress, Wolfinger has since removed himself from the case.

Was Wolfinger doing a favor for a retired judge? The blog Hinterland Gazette believes that may be the case.

It should be noted that George Zimmerman may have received favorable treatment from the police because of his family. ‎According to court records, his father is retired Supreme Court Magistrate Judge Robert Zimmerman and his mother Gladys Zimmerman was a court clerk. Connections in the legal community run deep and go far.

Might this also explain the younger Zimmerman's record that includes three "closed arrests"?

Another blog, RollingOut.com, puts it like this:

According to a records search on George, he was previously arrested for domestic violence, resisting an officer without violence and most shockingly, resisting an officer with violence — a felony charge that surely could have landed him in prison.

All three of those arrests, however, were mysteriously closed with no semblance of charges for the Florida resident. So how was someone with a violent past including that of battery against an officer able to carry a 9 mm handgun? Maybe that’s a question Robert Zimmerman should answer.

RollingOut goes on to list the arrests and cases in question.

One case seems to be a "he-said-she-said" case of domestic violence where both parties were charged.

How did this guy get a gun, let alone a carry permit?

By the selective leaking of information, whose ass is the Sanford Police Department trying to cover? It's own? The former state attorney? Retired Virginia Supreme Court Magistrate Judge Robert Zimmerman's? Or George Zimmerman's?

One thing seems crystal clear. Despite the conservative rush to smear Trayvon, it's looking less like a case of justifiable homicide and self-defense and more like someone trying to protect the privileged son of a retired Virginia Supreme Court Magistrate Judge.

Eureka!

By gosh man, I'd say you got to the bottom of it...has any of this been brought up to the mainstream media, or at least the Trayvon's parents?
