Don't trust the anonymous Operators. Trust the heroic supermarket workers. Watch, listen and learn from them.

I mentioned earlier my sister was hospitalized on March 13th after she fell and broke her Humerus. She's remained hospitalized in their PT/Transitional Care unit awaiting placement in a rehab facility or adult home, but that's now unlikely to happen, imo. They wanted to discharge her to her home today, but she cannot manage by herself. It seems they've cancelled the liver biopsy tomorrow she had been scheduled for for more than a month. First two, now 3 -10cm+ growths. I spoke frankly and honestly with her about triage, should she become ill. We sick old folk will die so a younger, more productive person may live on.

Testing has greatly increased in NYS and consequentially, the number of confirmed cases is skyrocketing.
Very sorry to hear about your sister. I wouldn't give up on finding a Skilled Nursing Facility. They are a little more cautious about accepting new patients, but as long as potential patients don't have a cough and a fever, they are generally still being let in. Be aware that many SNFs are prohibiting any visitors for a while though.

The triage situation right now really is heartbreaking. There's a potential positive on my unit right now, and we've been waiting over a week for the results. She is elderly with a Do Not Resuscitate order, which I suspect has gotten her bumped down the list. A lot of less urgent care in general is also getting delayed to deal with the immediate crisis. Stay safe out there, and I wish you both the very best.
Thanks for your kind words, Kos. My nephew has driven up from Atlanta to aid her. Are you folks sending your patient's specimens to the CDC for testing. I think so, if it's taking that long for results to be returned.
Is it still too soon to screen blood for covid-19 specific antibodies?

For those looking to boost their immune system, Paul Stamets recommends Turkey Tail mushrooms. Elvis and PufPuf, please watch this half hour video.

Sorry you felt my words insufficient, alloneword. I'm sure Operator Kos will provide you with his own personal anecdote and you'll then be satisfied; or you could ask Rex for his personal anecdote. Is it possible you believe OK's hospital's needs are unique to it alone in the US and no other?

^^Scroll past the acres of blather, disinfo, fearporn & emotional terrorism. Observe who is stretching threads with this timewasting anti-knowledge. Vomit out the empty uplift and tearjerking propaganda & pseudo-solidarity.

Watch, listen to, and learn from supermarket workers. Develop rigorous intuition. Live in your body. We all have to learn to get real again.

I really wish our moderators would put a leash on Mac. And please straighten him out about Operator Kos, or ask Lynne to. The man is raving on in a most insulting manner and I am communicating with a nurse most of us respect, doing a difficult job under the most difficult of circumstances. Mac is a heartless Bastard - don't believe for a minute he's anything but. Let's face it, who is the emotional terrorist here, me discussing my sister's difficult health circumstance with Kos or Mac, who calls it "acres of blather, disinfo, fearporn & emotional terrorism. Observe who is stretching threads with this timewasting anti-knowledge. Vomit out the empty uplift and tearjerking propaganda"?

Fearmongering and disinfo is Mac advising people to ignore their doctors and advising them to instead listen to grocery workers.

Trust your body, everyone. Breathe the fresh air. Go out and talk to humans.

Oh, I talk to my neighbors and my family members too, and even some friends, on the phone. An I go out every day for a walk, often with my 18 or 19 year old cat. I have to remain away from my LL for a week more, 'cause he's immune-suppressed and dying with cancer. It sucks getting old and becoming ill and getting stuck inside a hospital with no one to comfort you. My sister's situation is real, Mac, and I love my sister very much and do not want to see her die alone. What kind of person would call my words to Kos about my sister blather & bluster? Stop pretending I'm the bully and your my victim. You alone are the only fear monger at RI; a regular in-house terrorist, terrorizing only in-house posters. Awesome! good night.

He's not anonymous. He put out a comic under his own name years ago and we could all access it.

Just an FYI since you're probably not aware of it yourself, but when you get worked up about something you get seriously unhinged, obsessively repeating the same things over and over again, starting threads left and right and generally ranting like a madman at anyone who dares disagree with you. Maybe take a deep breath and tone it down a bit.

And just for the record, I'm being completely serious right now. You're kinda scary when you get like this.

BBC, CNN, the Murdoch empire, the Bild-Zeitung, the corporate-state media giants all over Europe are catapulting the propaganda 24/7, bombarding us with fearporn 24/7, repeating repeating repeating repeating repeating repeating the panic-message 24/7. That is how propaganda works: through incessant repetition repetition repetition.

It is not me who is ranting at anyone, and it is not me who is throwing insults.

Booowya!

I laughed.

What's wrong with ranting? It's an essential feature of 'emotional truth'.

Before it is anything else, it is an emotional response.
