Re: Please Don’t Run, Hillary
Here's something weird! My phone typically goes to standby on any website after a minute of no activity. But I checked out her site originally on the phone following a link from the Stranger. It keeps waking up when I have her/THE site loaded. They are pushing data when the page is loaded. Never seen a site like this as far as my phone's "behavior". I got no idea. It does keep refreshing and activating the display on my phone.
Just noticed. . .

That is the shittiest shit logo I've ever seen in Shitsville. If you 're going to use the Fed Ex trick, at least centre and obscure it so it's engaging.

It seems quite likely to me that Our Masters will decide that a person with an (R) after his name will be chosen to sit on his ass in the Office that is Oval (Offal?).
Helps sell the illusion that "the pendulum swings back and forth" thus providing "Balance" to the "system".
It would also help keep those who identify with the R Brand happy and complacent, much the same way Obama (D) rendered those who identify with the D Brand complacent.
If I were one of Our Masters that what I'd do.

Upon further reflection of that logo:
How would the "twin towers" looking vertical part with an arrow going through them horizontally have gone over in years past? I mean, who the fuck fired up MSFT paint to make that?

Wow, good point. I didn't notice that at first. The arrow is shaped like a fucking airplane.82_28 » Mon Apr 13, 2015 11:07 pm wrote:Upon further reflection of that logo:

It's almost like a joke, to see how many people notice.
Good eye!

In fairness to Ms.Clinton (whom I loathe), it would be difficult to depict an "H" without at least the possibility of a twin towers allusion.82_28 » 13 Apr 2015 20:07 wrote:Upon further reflection of that logo:

Sure. You certainly are right. Bit could have been HC, or HRC, or Hill, or Hillary. Instead it's that thing. Even without the 911 overtones it's a clumsy and clunky and inert logo.

Well, then, how appropriate!Nordic » 13 Apr 2015 20:29 wrote:Sure. You certainly are right. Bit could have been HC, or HRC, or Hill, or Hillary. Instead it's that thing. Even without the 911 overtones it's a clumsy and clunky and inert logo.
Seriously, it's going to be Jeb. How could it not be? They're only picking the most plausible, and plausibly repulsive, Democratic candidate, in order to maintain the now-barely-tenable illusion of democracy. It's exactly the same as how I knew Obama would win 2008 long before mainstream commentators thought he even had a snowball's chance in hell of winning: he was exactly the candidate needed to mollify and subdue the urban educated class after George W.

Re: Please Don’t Run, Hillary
I personally know the guy who designed Clinton's logo. He's what I would call a late modernist in the tradition of the Bauhaus (read: anti-fascist) favoring clear communication and "the democratization of form" over what we typically know of the patrician, parochial visual language of american political campaigning.
I agree to some extent it resembles some kind of Italo-fascist mark, but I think those groups were really just co-opting modernism in an effort to seem "forward-looking." If I can wager a guess here, I think this is merely an attempt to reintroduce (or introduce) modernism to american politics.

Wow. I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Actually, I threw up a lot.
I agree with slomo that Jeb will prolly become "our" next preznit. Fair and balanced, y'see.

One of the only pundits with a working model (perhaps in human history) says it's basically a coin toss until 2016. And he is probably right.
Worth reading, if only for the hilarious "Nobody Likes Anybody" opinion polling meta-chart.
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/cli ... a-toss-up/The truth is that a general election win by Clinton — she’s very likely to become the Democratic nominee — is roughly a 50/50 proposition. And we’re not likely to learn a lot over the rest of 2015 to change that.

Re: Please Don’t Run, Hillary
I think that may be intentional. It's a red arrow pointing to the right. Like a direct response to the Draft Warren movement trying to push her in the other direction. Not much for subtlety, is she?norton ash » Mon Apr 13, 2015 3:07 pm wrote:That is the shittiest shit logo I've ever seen in Shitsville.
