So you admit to mostly being fueled by spite, then? I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. There's an awful lot of that going around.
Sounds like Peartreed's got some of you guys pegged even harder than I thought. No wonder you all started hating on him all at once, and all of a sudden!

I value civil discourse very highly. At the same time I feel that many voices including harsh voices need to be heard and listened to. Discomfort does not bother me much. The anxiety produced helps for focus and IMO contributes much to the 'vale of soul making'.
I have all kinds of shade thrown on me here, especially in earlier years. But it has been a crucial aid to my thinking, so why take personal offense at attempts to marginalize.
Mac or BS have never 'targeted' me. Perhaps they sub-consciously find that others could put their productions of discomfort to better use.
But don't listen to me, i liked mulebone quite a bit. I have a friend like him, freaking heart of gold behind that rude exterior.

simple rules by Jeff ...THESE ARE THE RULES FOR POSTING HERE...so important that this paragraph was the FIRST rule listed......they should/must be followed .....
While Rigorous Intuition welcomes a range of informed perspectives, it is not intended to be a forum for the re-fighting of elemental human values. It should be assumed that this is a place where the dignity and rights of all people are respected Members who challenge these rights may be regarded as disruptive, and members who habitually challenge them will be banned.
...........
The charge or insinuation of "disinfo agent" can almost never be proven, and poisons and often ends meaningful discussion. Therefore suggesting a poster is purposefully spreading disinformation is not permitted.
Please refrain from personal attacks, and keep arguments issue-based.
.........
Thank you for your civil and thoughtful contributions, and your cooperation in helping to generate more light than heat.
You are so full of shit you're a public health hazard
"You are a tedious timewasting troll, a shitstirrer and a flame baiter."
insane
troll
vomiting all over this board
this notorious troll still getting away with this incessant insufferable attention-seeking flamebait?
egregiously stupid, obnoxiously rightwing warmongering, copied and pasted
Spook Infiltration of Discussion Boards as RI Subject
Non-stop fascist warmongering
dignity?
respect?
civil?

Nice try, 'ol pal, but no -- that's not it, at all. Bear in mind that you're the one that initiated this direct 'poking' at me. I'm simply responding to it, but avoiding the bait (though this will be my last direct reply to your attempts to antagonize).
Also, I never indicated any hatred towards Peartreed. He certainly does not inspire hate. And no, he doesn't have any of us 'pegged'.
By all means, continue with misrepresentations, as you tend to do, however. Your choice.

Mac, you can't call a member a "shitstirrer." It's Jeff''s rule about not directing profanity at another member. And it's bad form.
Jerky, you too -- lighten up the language when addressing members, please.
And anyone else I may have missed.
And really, Peartreed has been re-writing the same complaint and making the same ludicrous charges for years now, I don't get why people feel they must keep responding to it.

Never heard that song before. Pretty rockin' old school American boogie-woogie rock-and-roll as filtered through a British sensibility ("There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvis?!" Talk about culture clash!)
With those jeans Kristy's rocking, however, she's just begging for the mother of all urinary tract infections.
Yeah, the thing is after that Boston Marathon thread I realized that interacting with you is wicked boring.
It was just so obvious that you knew nothing about Boston.
Once that was apparent, those displays of ignorance then extrapolated in my brain into every other subject you decided to pontificate on.
Wicked boring.
Then, I discovered a different discussion board that uses the same phpBB platform as this one.
Except it is all about different music equipment, and the various workflows one can point that same said music equipment towards.
People there are wicked opinionated too.
But by and large, those opinions are about things they have actually experienced firsthand, with those same said items of musical equipment.
Who knows? You might also be a member there as well.
Interacting with those opinionated folk there is simply more rewarding for me.
So, boring or not.
Peace be unto you here.
For the most part it is simply more fun over there.
At first I saw Elvis's signature line "Frankly, I don't think it's a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous." as the caption for the image he posted up-thread. (Slow to wake up this morning.)

My personal preference is to stop the beating I really like horses
if only the personal attacks rule which Jeff thought was so important he put it in the first paragraph of his rules was enforced no one would have to keep beating those poor dead horses
It is personal attacks that are reviving those dead horses over and over and just happened again yesterday
there should be consequences for repeat offenders of this rule but there is not so this problem will continue forever and ever ....the dead horses will never be buried......instead of going after the offender the receiver just needs to stop complaining
BS ask me why I posted Jeff's remark from 9 years ago....it's because the person Jeff was talking about has never stopped and is STILL breaking that rule and Jeff's characterization still stands today as it did many years ago .......
This is what Jeff wanted for RI ...this is what was most important to him
this is a place where the dignity
and rights of all
people are respected
civil
thoughtful
cooperation

MacCruiskeen used the cartoon simile of beating dead horses in a recent post to SLAD.
Elvis then used a photo of beating a dead horse in a snide remark about my posts.
Elvis used to ride high in the saddle before he stooped to shoveling Mac arse biscuits.
Now both are reflecting each other’s mean metaphors in mirroring a horse’s ass.
This board, as SLAD notes, will continue to degrade until moderation sets an example.
