:shrug: Used an essay written for a crime site so guess I accept the 'verdict'. (American w/dna ethnicity origin 99% European)

Genre: Informal
Female = 2123
Male = 1523
Difference = -600; 41.77%
Verdict: Weak FEMALE

Weak emphasis could indicate European.

Genre: Formal
Female = 1557
Male = 1117
Difference = -440; 41.77%
Verdict: Weak FEMALE

Weak emphasis could indicate European.

What the heck is this??? European?
They say it's based on word use. By European could they mean someone from Europe who isn't a mother tongue English speaker?

I wonder what words they're basing it on. My sample that came out with the highest male quotient was a post I made here about the evolution of feminism. You'd think that talking about feminism would be considered female.

Another sample brought the same results ("Verdict: Weak Female; Weak emphasis could indicate European"). But, uh......two others written in the last several years brought:

Genre: Informal
Female = 814
Male = 1427
Difference = 613; 63.67%
Verdict: MALE

Genre: Formal
Female = 781
Male = 939
Difference = 158; 54.59%
Verdict: Weak MALE

Weak emphasis could indicate European.

Genre: Informal
Female = 332
Male = 745
Difference = 413; 69.17%
Verdict: MALE

Genre: Formal
Female = 443
Male = 532
Difference = 89; 54.56%
Verdict: Weak MALE

Weak emphasis could indicate European.

Actually, if given the benefit of doubt, this 'analysis' is kinda fascinating to me personally. I could view it not for 'predicting' actual gender only but maybe picking up on gender (and ethnic) influences. For instance, my early formative years were spent as the only girl on the block in a working class neighborhood and I learned to socialize, play, and fight as a boy. I also spent a lot of time in a newspaper office that employed only male reporters and journalists.

Beats me, but also during childhood, weekends were often spent w/my large extended family that included older members who, English being their second language, often spoke in their native tongue. :shrug:
