This is blood for blood and by the gallon. These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choice left. And I'm ready for war.

I hate people, but I love gatherings. Isn't it ironic?

You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.

You know, when you're little, you have more endurance than God is ever to grant you again. Children are man at his strongest. They abide.

I guess this is just another lost cause, Mr. Paine. All you people don't know about lost causes. Mr. Paine does. He said once they were the only causes worth fighting for. And he fought for them once, for the only reason any man ever fights for them; because of just one plain simple rule: 'Love thy neighbor.'... And you know that you fight for the lost causes harder than for any other. Yes, you even die for them.

But no one has lived in the past and no one will live in the future.
The present is the form of all life.
This quality cannot be changed by any means. Time is like a circle which turns endlessly. The descending arc is the past, the arc that climbs is the future.
Everything has been said... provided words do not change their meanings and meanings their words.
Is it not obvious that someone who customarily lives in a state of suffering requires a different sort of religion from a person habitually in a state of well-being?
Before us, nothing existed here. No one. We are totally alone here. We are unique, dreadfully unique.
The meaning of words and of expressions, is no longer grasped.
An isolated word, or a detail of a design can be understood, but the meaning of the whole escapes.
Once we know the number one, we believe that we know the number two... because one plus one equals two.
We forget that first... we must know the meaning of plus.
