Re: "Viruses": Tiny Invisible Airborne Killer-Dots. (Really?
The "conglomerate" I was referring to was not just IamwhomIam's post, but also the two by Joe Hillshoist and Dr Evil that had immediately preceded it. We can now include all those that have since followed by the same three authors, plus the added syrup. I haven't replied to any of those posts (yet), not because I am stuck for responses to any of them (I'm not) but because I think most people have eyes and ears, are capable of reading, and can think for themselves.
And I wasn't just being sarcastic when I said it would be instructive to give that conglomerate (of rhetorical ruses and received ideas) some time to develop, to watch it closely as it catalyses and ferments and see what we can all learn from the process. That process is still ongoing and still instructive. There's a lot to be learned just by observing, patiently, how defenders of a ruling paradigm react when that paradigm is challenged.
Meanwhile, here's a kinetic artwork that neatly illustrates how the living body's crack Special Forces fight off an invasion by airborne terrorists how the mighty machine called TheScience™ responds to insurgent ideas (2m 43s):

I'm curious to hear yours and Macs take on Cowan's apparent belief that we have found alien life (or your take on why a supposed doctor doesn't know the difference between amino acids and microorganisms), and that the correct cosmology is the electric universe theory. The list of probes we've sent to various comets is pretty long ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_S ... met_probes ), so you would think some of them would have noticed the electrical arcing (or been fried by it).
For him to be right about virology and cosmology there has to be a lot of people who are wrong, and not just a little wrong about some of the details, but completely and utterly wrong about everything they've done throughout their professional careers. Since I'm not an expert in either field, the sensible thing is to assume that what virtually everyone who knows something on the subjects are saying is true, or as close to true as we can get with our current knowledge (yes, yes, I know, I'm being a sheep following the herd, blahfuckingblah). Maybe they'll all turn out to be wrong, but that doesn't mean Cowan, Kaufman and Lanka are right.
There's nothing saying their paradigm should be the one to replace the old one. It could be something completely different, it could be some variety of what Cowan and friends are preaching, it could be the paradigm we already have with some further refinements and tweaks, or maybe both competing paradigms are true to some extent. What I do know is that virology has been around long enough for the old guard to die out, and it's still here.

Harvey and DrEvil, you both deserve to endure this video for engaging in such silliness - God exists. No! He doesn't.

I'm in the middle of reading a few other things first then I'll have to catch up with you - I haven't even skimmed the book. My point is still, that I and many others are now in a position in which we have no idea how much of what we think we know is actually true but we see self declared experts lying to us all day every day from every direction. It's perfectly valid to question the foundations of virology at any time, but it's absolutely fucking vital to do so here and now.DrEvil » Sun Dec 12, 2021 11:53 pm wrote:I'm curious to hear yours and Macs take...

That's fair enough.
Just don't believe the first thing that comes along and don't trust that the people who write books like that one Cowan wrote are any different or not lying to you as well.

HM Government advises: Follow TheScience™: Beware of Black people. They carry the Black Death, they breathe out Giant Black Clouds of Giant Black Killer-Grapefruit, and their faces are turning green.
If you are a human being and still have to endure their presence, then at least take sensible precautions and sit well behind them, near an open window.

Re: "Viruses": Tiny Invisible Airborne Killer-Dots. (Really?
Some screenshots from a film released in 2018.
I can't help wondering if the film will continue being so scarily accurate scene after scene, even as we're nearing the end of it, after acting out the whole of the rest of the film in reel time. Keep telling ourselves that this isn't some long discussed script now being read out loud, and we're not the actors. Convince ourselves that it all ends well if we keep our heads down.
It's all just the most astonishing coincidence, to think anything else would be mad. Simply await further instructions.

...and Scary Santa locks all the children in their homes, speaking through the television and literally dropping hypodermics down the chimney. For those who do not comply the sentence is death. For all those who do comply, the reward is also death.

Re: "Viruses": Tiny Invisible Airborne Killer-Dots. (Really?
^^ Note the use of green lighting to indicate sickness, sickliness, deathliness, death.
Note the same technique deployed in the two UK govt/NHS posters I posted above, along with the use of green costumes for all three disease-spreaders.
Hitchcock famously used green filters and costumes in Vertigo (based on a novel called From Among The Dead) to convey the same subtle, subliminal sense of foreboding. And of course green doesn't always or necessarily "mean" death, it depends on the context and the intended purpose,
Then there are all the other colours and their various connotations, as well as shapes, compositions, framings, perspectives, etc. As a painter, you know all this.
And of course words. Words, words, words. Repetitions, repetitions, repetitions. Virus, deadly, virus, wicked, virus, cunning, virus, mutant, danger danger danger, follow the science the science the science.
Schoolkids of 14 or even younger could easily be taught within a year to recognise and develop immunity against the most omnipresent techniques of manipulation through language, images, and sound. But that would be bad for business. Awareness would leave them ill-prepared for life as uncomplaining and even eager consumers of mediated gunk, and uncritical consumers and regurgitators of moribund received ideas.

I saw this movie early in the pandemic. Maybe cos of this place recommending it.
Have you seen it? Its pretty tripped out, like electronic cthulu meets ted bullpit. Way beyond peoples considerations of this pandemic.
