I never realized how blessedly priviledged we have been for so long to have had such a fine wordsmith grace us with his presence here! Remember? it seems like only yesterday we were all takin' turns gettin' the Riddler all riled by posting an oblique opinion 'bout O'bama, Occupied, Glenn Greenwallet, or gays... Dumb-asses daring to debate d'master... Oh Boy!
A few times, when I actually took the time to read what he rote, I learned to appreciate the effort it took. It was fun playin' Ponty Pool, huh? Fifty pages later, t'weren't no reason to reason no more! Jack was write, and we were wrung... No slack Jack had a knack for flack like a smack attack on crack like whacky Mack in tacky Iraq ... Yackitty, yackitty, yackitty, yack... All the way to a shack on the tract! That's a fact...

Bruce Dazzling doesn't seem to be around much anymore, and now his name has been dropped from the list of moderators.
Did he leave without saying good-bye? Last I heard he was going out to check on his tomatoes or something.
Anyway, I thought he was a great moderator. Wanted to tell him how much I appreciated his magnificent collection of photos from Occupy, too.

well Bruce more or less decided to resign after the same blowup that sent the Wombat on indefinite hiatus. Folks need to start trying to be nicer or we wont have any mods left.
thankfully the flame wars have died down for now.

It's been a month since we had the never ending strings of fbi posts...
That makes me strangely happy too. Don't know why really. I like to know he's out there, doing his thing, whatever it is.
Don't think he liked me at all. In his final analysis, I would no doubt have come out on the unacceptably "mangina" side of the spectrum, but in my personal opinion Stephen had a decent way with words, an enviable knowledge of history (however slanted), and a fair bit of unusual charm about him. He was also totally sincere, most of the time, however offensive his views were. That's rare. Of course his persona was partly an act, but he meant every (non-sarcastic) word he said. A rarity. Perhaps that's just as well.
He's one of the few board members that I've ever had a dream about meeting and spending time with. It actually turned out really well, in the dream. He stayed in my house and all, and we had a good laugh, despite disagreeing vehemently on many matters. When I woke up I remembered that he doesn't drink, though, and the dream quickly faded.

But they can't medicate me to change being myself.
All the drugs in the world couldn't do that.
