Sons of Anarchy?
S.O.A.?
I thought that stood for...
School of the Americas...where
the Pentagon and CIA teach officers from other countries how to suppress their own people.
Oh, different bad guys.
A tech filming this thing does call it "SOA"-

.....
I am looking forward to working on “SOA” since it is quite a departure from the light-hearted ½ hour comedies that I have been shooting of late. “SOA” is a dark, action filled one-hour about rival biker gangs in the fictitious central California town of Charming. There will be lots of night shoots, motorcycle rigs and the opportunity to do a lot more “edgy” stuff than I have been doing recently.
That image looks like a
discrediting of California and all social values and movements associated with it, a meme heavily leaned on since the Vietnam War to alienate 'heartlanders' from 'coastals' to prevent the spread of environmentalism, peace and justice movements, healthy foods, etc.
The equivalent of a Jay Leno joke about Berkeley.
Or a Pollack joke.
Or Freedom Fries.
Ah, timing.
Starting the show this September will let it settle in to the public's psyche for the final push to the November (s)election.

...13-episodes of the drama series called “Sons of Anarchy,” which centers on an outlaw biker “club” and how the club’s efforts to protect its home in fictional Charming, Calif., from suburbanization.
"Charming, CA?"
Um, didn't a border California town near San Diego called Portrero just prevent Blackwater from building a training site nearby? Yes, December 2007
So this plot sounds like a meme-reversal of that, the townies of "SOA" are now alot like Blackwater. Hmmmm.

POTRERO, Calif.-Residents balked at putting a Blackwater training camp near this sleepy mountain village, voting to recall five members of an advisory planning board that endorsed the global security firm's plan.
(snip)
Hammers said the board's decision had been misconstrued, and that its goal was to investigate what jobs and other perks having Blackwater could mean for the community.
"We chose to stay engaged," said Hammers. "Certain elements made it an anti-Bush, anti-Iraq war surrogate and sold that to the community. They were successful."
Blackwater wanted to turn an 800-acre former chicken farm into a training camp for law enforcement officers. The facility would have included 11 firing ranges, a driving track and a helipad. But opposition to the plan intensified in September, after Blackwater guards were investigated in the shooting deaths of 17 Iraqi civilians in Baghdad.
A call to a Blackwater spokesman early Wednesday was not immediately returned.
