Now they're saying 2 dead and 13 injured. FWIW.

CNN was saying 10-12 dead and 21 injured and flown to either Portland or Seattle. Harborview in Seattle is the main trauma center for OR, WA, ID and AK. We will see. I tried to get the preliminary reports for future reference as to how the story changes. I'm sick of this bullshit.

Roseburg in the national news again? That's weird.
It's also the hometown of one of the Americans who prevented the terrorist attack in France.

Just heard the shooter was telling people to stand up and asked them what their religion was.
My first instinct may have been correct, that this is a lone-wolf retribution against the hometown of one of the American heroes in France.

And the dissection begins...33 this and 33 that...
When all you really need to know is be very afraid because the "enemy is us". The more we distrust each other, the more trust we place in them to protect us from ourselves...." that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil." and they already are.
I know someone who went to see the pope. She didn't even get close enough to see the huge screen, let alone the Pope, yet they searched all of her pockets, purse, and even inside her wallet. I'm only surprised they didn't do strip searches. Moreover, they continued to search people for quite some time AFTER the pope left.

Anybody here read, "The King Of Torts"?
Book Trailer - The King of Torts
On Tuesday, May 17th The Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance hosted a conversation with "The King of Torts" Joe Jamail. During this discussion, Jamail discussed why plaintiff's lawyers are much maligned by corporate players and whether there was a rational argument to be made that some of the plaintiff's bar activity should be embraced (even encouraged) by the likes of independent directors and certain institutional shareholders. If so, what stands in the way of a deeper understanding of the information, incentives, justice, and checks and balances that plaintiff's lawyers inject into the corporate ecosystem?
