Soros Open Society + "Anti-fascists" = Globalist propaganda

Postby Searcher08 » Tue Sep 09, 2014 6:24 pm

Background
I have noticed a big influx of posts recently at RI with a very focused theme, which is the propagation of the work of Anton Shekhovtsov and the focus of this has been to focus and call into question Global Research and focus on a theme of issues with Putin.

Now the fact that Globalresearch.ca is the web home of Peter Dale Scott
http://www.globalresearch.ca/author/peter-dale-scott
immediately makes me very careful about the provenance of criticism. Not just WHAT is said, but WHO says it and their background. I raised these issues several times and they were either left unanswered or were summarily dismissed (without dealing with the facts raised).

My purpose in starting this new thread is to shine a light on some of the people in what I have found is a professional anti-fascist ecosystem, involving university departments, Institutes, academic journals, conferences, grants, funding sources, intelligence connections, Israeli connections and many links to the Open Society Foundations.

My concern is not that I am *against* academic anti-fascism, rather that it in some ways is being co-opted / used to forward the globalist agenda of Soros and the Open Society Foundations and that that is being done here at R.I. whether innocently or... (<--see how manipulative three dots can be?)

Why is it important to be critical and very careful of Soros / Open Society?
Here is a quote from Wiki
Criticism

Left-wing critics of Soros and the Open Society Foundations argue that these institutions serve primarily to reinforce the existing social order. Nicolas Guilhot, writing in Critical Sociology, connects the Soros charities to the history of capitalist philanthropy maintained by the Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation, among others. Guilhot argues that control over the social sciences by monied interests has depoliticized this field and reinforced a capitalist view of modernization. He argues that despite critiques of malfunctioning free markets, Soros is actually a neoliberal who believes that competitive markets are the best way to organize society.[13] According to this view, the apparent radicalism of Soros' "open society" serves as cover for the capitalist order, the basic rules of which are never actually questioned or "opened".[2]

So starting with Anton, from his website:

You really haven't proven much of anything yet.

What is your central contention and what are the primary facts you are using to support it?

The first thing I have established is that Anton is a Research Fellow at an Institute with Soros on the Board of Regents (Governance body). Soros also appears in their videos.

Are you disputing George Soros's deep involvement with this particular organisation?
If so, provide evidence, rather than your evidence-free assertion.
Also, you have not stated your position with regard to Soros. What is it?

Actually, I'm saying: You really haven't proven much of anything yet.

What is your central contention and what are the primary facts you are using to support it?

As to Soros, I've never studied him in depth, but he certainly is a member of the bourgeoisie and a somewhat shady one at that. He certainly has used his resources to push a neoliberal agenda in Eurasia (and profit at the same time), quite possibly has spooky ties, and has gotten wealthier and wealthier in part due to his connections within the power elite.

So what is it exactly that you are trying to prove?

From Anton's linkedin profile: http://uk.linkedin.com/in/antonshekhovtsov

Anton Shekhovtsov's Projects
Fascism. Journal of Comparative Fascist Studies
October 2011 to Present
Team Members: Anton Shekhovtsov, Andreas Umland, Roger Griffin, Madelon de Keizer, Marjo Bakker, Aristotle Kallis, Wim van Meurs

Let's have a look at who are the main players in this journal
http://www.brill.com/fascism
Editor-in-Chief: Nigel Copsey, Teesside University, UK,
Managing Editor: Marjo Bakker, NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Amsterdam, NL,
Consultant Editor: Roger Griffin, Oxford, UK

Roger Griffin
Roger Griffin has carried out an ideological profile of a suspected extreme right-wing ideologue in connection with legal proceedings and delivered lectures on the socio-ideological dynamics of terrorism and fascism to the security forces.
He invites requests for consultation work of this nature and in areas relating to the design and delivery of courses on topics relating to fascism, terrorism, and modernism at postgraduate, undergraduate and sixth-form/high school level.
He has acted as a consultant to the Home Office on terrorist radicalization
He is also available for talks on the psychological dynamics and security implications of modernity, terrorism, and radicalization

Marjo Bakker
is an information scientist with niod, the main Dutch Genocide studies organisation.
Holocaust and Genocide Studies:
The Holocaust and Genocide Studies department engages in scientific education and research on the Holocaust and other genocides. Also the department in line with this takes care of the master program Holocaust and Genocide Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Nigel Copsey runs the 'Centre for fascist, anti-fascist and post-fascist studies' at Teeside University.
http://www.tees.ac.uk/sections/research/design_culture_arts/facist_centre.cfm

Teesside University hosts a unique research unit dedicated to the study of the far right and its opposition.

The centre for fascist, anti-fascist and post-fascist studies is part of the School of Arts & Media.
It examines the historical development of far right politics and culture since its inception in the early twentieth century.

Some of the themes the centre aims to explore include:
the contemporary far-right, especially since 9/11, and anti-Muslim politics
‘tit for tat extremism’ and how the reactions of radical groups only seek to fuel more hatred and violence
the role of the internet and other new media technologies in far-right radicalisation.

Renowned experts at the forefront of research
The centre is led by Professor Nigel Copsey and Dr Matthew Feldman and will build upon their reputations as two of the leading UK experts on both historical and contemporary manifestations of fascism and (radical) anti-fascism.

Professor Copsey has a long-standing research interest in right-wing extremism, fascism and anti-fascism. He has published widely on the history of anti-fascism in Britain, the nature of anti-fascist activity and the British National Party and its quest for legitimacy.

Dr Feldman is an expert on fascist ideology and the contemporary far-right in Europe and the USA. He has written widely on these subjects, as well as on the interaction between politics and faith in the modern world.

Dr Feldman has featured on various radio and television programmes, as well as national and international newspapers and websites discussing high profile cases such as Anders Breivik, who killed 77 people in Norway and the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich.

Exploring Roger Griffin some more (remembering that Anton works directly with this Journal, as he stated on his linkedin profile)
Roger Griffin is an Associate Fellow with ICSR
ICSR partners with five great academic institutions: King’s College London; the University of Pennsylvania; the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (Israel); the Jordan Institute of Diplomacy; and Georgetown University.

CSR nurtures leadership. Our Atkin Fellowship programme has created a network of pragmatic and educated young leaders from both sides of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

ICSR sponsored a conference "What id the New Far Right?"
http://icsr.info/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/ICSR-Conference-What-is-the-New-Far-Right-Handbook.pdf

Let's drill down into the people at the Conference:
Firstly, the Conference was in partnership with
Community Security Trust (CST)
Centre for Asymmetric Threat Studies (CATS), Swedish National Defence College

Before getting to the speakers, let's look at who the partners are:
Community Security Trust (CST)
About us

Every year CST helps secure over 300 synagogues; over 120 Jewish schools; more than 1000 Jewish communal organisations and buildings; and approximately 1000 communal events. CST also represents the Jewish community on a wide range of Police, governmental and policy-making bodies dealing with security and antisemitism. Indeed, the Police and government praise CST as a model of how a minority community should protect itself.

CST is the only organisation in the country dedicated to collecting, analysing, responding to and publishing statistics relating to antisemitic figures. CST publishes these figures in the Antisemitic Incidents Report annually.

CST statistics, opinion and analysis are also sought by the media, academic bodies, law enforcement and government on all matters relating to antisemitism, terrorism, communal security and policing.

As the threat of terrorism and the physical manifestation of antisemitism –antisemitic incidents – increase, so the work of CST becomes even more essential. CST’s aim is to provide the community with as high a level of security as possible to combat these threats, enabling Jewish community life to be open, proud and strong.

Centre for Asymmetric Threat Studies (CATS), Swedish National Defence College
About CATS
The Center for Asymmetric Threat Studies (CATS) at the Swedish National Defence College (SNDC) is already engaged in Terrorism Studies with Dr. Magnus Ranstorp as the academic lead and in studies of Information Operations (IO) with Dr. Dan Kuehl, NDU, as an informal Visiting Professor.
The third pillar under the "asymmetric umbrella" deals with intelligence studies with Dr. Greg Treverton, RAND, and Professor Wilhelm Agrell – the first Swedish full professor in Intelligence Analysis – at Lund University. Treverton and Agrell are Visiting Professors at CATS.
The projects at CATS are mainly sponsored by The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), The Cabinet Offices and The Swedish Armed Forces.
Studies
CATS are carrying out studies within the areas below:
Research and studies concerning Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism policies/approaches.
Research and threat assessments on Counter Violent Extremism.
Research and education within the area of Intelligence Studies.
Research and studies on Cyber Security, Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP) and Information Assurance concerning policies and approaches in different countries.
Information Operations – studies, exercise planning and courses on the intermediate level within the joint military education programme on behalf of The Armed Forces.
Research and studies on Perception Management/Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) as well as on relevant cultural factors.

So you just intend to use vague guilt-by-association?

It appears that you have no clear contention which you are willing to own, and defend.

you really are a sad dude AD.

You ask others for proof, and when they provide it.....reams and reams of it, you dismiss it as "factoids", or some other such plainly feeble, deeply opinionated ( your opinion) rebuttal.

The funniest or most hypocritical part of it is that all you ever do with your copy pasta crappoila that litters this board is exactly that which you so smuglyt attribute to others. You sound a lot like a prime minister or "Government spokesman".

Get a new life AD while you still have the chance this time around

Thanks for the info Searcher. It would appear that Peter Dale Scott has been infiltrated . Wherever are we supposed to go now lol?

The second post here is a remarkable example of a "show me the money" type hijack. Often this is more subtle but not here.
Searcher is just starting to set out his stall when trading standards turn up and demand he unload everything at once in a heap. A heap being something that always looks like a pile of rubbish.

If pretty sure that Searcher knows about the sacred phrase 'anti-facism', and how it's high priests are likely to react. That's one of the points of the thread though, so no big surprises there.

Proof of what??? This is an intellectually challenged "proof".

Yes, Peter Dale Scott does publish at Global Research as well as with Alex Jones, which are questionable sites in various ways but do have a relatively large readership. It's not something I would do and PDS' politics are at best liberal and/or progressive but his academic rigour is unquestionable, I would dare say.

The fact that jakell is your "ally" should be a clear sign that something is wrong here.

I know, like you have so convincingly 'proven' that jakell is a fascist. You go boy.

Funny word that, when none is called for or needed in this context. What many do have however is impressions, and mine is that AD is very committed to a George Soros globalist mentality.

No proof needed, and yet the impression does not go away.
All these things will continue as long as coercion remains a central element of our mentality.

Yes. That and yet another attempt at that dsigusting "guilt by association nonsense, which our ever vigilant anti fascist spends all his time spraying around this board, having just accused searcher of using such an argument. Im sure the irony isnt lost on people who read RI.

I guess when your bow has no other strings to it, but a large pile of largley and deliberately meaningless BS, then you can only woirk with what youve got.

Anyways lets carry on shall we. There are international fascists to deal with. Its pretty clear to most of us who they are.

Ive got an idea.....lets audit the fed and stop the wars......o wait.......we cant cos that racist and fascist.....

It seems I have been associated with someone (Slim) here by the use of the word 'ally', there is absolutely nothing to support this here, nothing, it's just another random claim. I'm often taken aback by how unsubtle the techniques used here are, and I think that's why folks are sometimes taken in by them,. people (on here) expect artifice and overlook blatant hamfistedness.

Poor old Searcher though, he set's up a decent thread and almost immediately a bull charges at his china stall. He did put some sacred words right in the title though, so there's the red rag. I suspect he knows what he is doing (I hope)... getting the inevitable bull** out of the way early on.

**ETA. Just grokked the double meaning of the word 'bull' here, seems apt though.

Apologies for my careless phrasing. It is true that slim has done nothing to make jakell his "ally". Rather, it is the reverse- jakell attempting to ingratiate himself to one "side" where he already has tried and proven pals.

Jakell activated himself here shilling for boards sponsored by far right racist/fascist types who wanted to use poison gas to kill off all the racial minorities in Britain! His efforts towards allyship here don't make any of you look any better.

Efforts from a few of you here to cultivate his friendship and encourage his efforts reflect particularly poorly on the quality of your own politics.
