D'okay. I'd ask you why you happen to suppose that, but I'm afraid you might answer me. So I won't.

Summary
Five police officers have been shot dead at a protest in Dallas
Seven more officers were injured in the shooting, some critically
The gunman has been named as 25-year-old Micah Xavier Johnson
Upset about police killings of black people, Johnson said he wanted to kill whites, especially white police officers
He was killed by an explosive device detonated by a police robot
Three other suspects are in custody and are refusing to co-operate with police
The protest in Dallas was sparked by the shootings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling by police in Minnesota and Louisiana

Speaking earlier, [Police Chief David] Brown said two snipers had fired from "elevated positions", shooting some officers in the back
"We believe that these suspects were positioning themselves in a way to triangulate on these officers from two different perches... and planned to injure and kill as many law enforcement officers as they could," Mr Brown said.

In initial reports, I heard that upwards of seven protesters had also been shot. Is there any truth to that? By the sniper(s), or cops returning fire erratically? I'm seeing little mention now of any protester casualties. KY3 says "2 civilians shot": http://www.ky3.com/content/news/Police- ... 52771.html
I'm so glad that this didn't happen in Philly, the gathering was huge last night and shut down the highway the night before. There's another vigil planned for tonight.
