About eight feet below the surface of one of the busiest neighborhoods in Washington, D.C., lies a massive series of tunnels. Snaking their way under Dupont Circle and beyond, these dark, concrete passageways and platforms take up about 75,000 square feet of space. Over the past 50 years, with one ill-fated exception, they have lain pretty much unused, forgotten and ignored. The Dupont Underground project is trying to change that, with the hope of turning the tunnels into a place where art thrives.
The first electric streetcar appeared in Washington, D.C., in 1890. Drawing power from overhead electric wires and, later, ground rails, the cars zoomed around the city, providing a faster and cleaner alternative to the horse-drawn transportation of the past. The streetcars were very popular into the 20th century, but the system soon became congested and plagued by delays and breakdowns. As early as 1918, Congress issued a report attempting to find ways to alleviate these issues. Despite the problems, commuters continued to use the streetcar system; by the post-World War II era, the congestion had become so bad—especially in the even-then-trendy Dupont Circle neighborhood—that improvements had to be made.

The city’s solution? Bring part of the system underground. In 1949, Capital Transit and the city worked together to build a trolley station, platforms and tunnels below Dupont Circle, extending from right above N Street to R Street, where the tunnels connected to the rest of the above-ground streetcar system. While the solution helped to alleviate traffic in the circle and surrounding area, it didn’t last long. In 1962, only 13 years after the underground portion opened, the entire streetcar system shut down due to declining ridership, labor strife and the rise of America’s car culture. Today, the District is trying to revive the streetcar system, albeit in a different area of city, though the opening has been delayed several times.

Since 1962, this vast, unoccupied subterranean space has hardly been touched. In the 1970s, parts of the tunnels were a fallout shelter, but according to Agnese, the site was used mostly for storing supplies—water, rations and equipment—rather than as a gathering point for people. In 1995, the “Dupont Down Under” transformed the west platform of the Dupont underground station into a food court, which left a bad taste in everyone’s mouths (literally). The project included 12 tenants, all of the fast food variety, and had problems right from the start.

I don't agree that "human trafficking, torture, ritual abuse, human experimenting, elite peddo rings, etc. are go to plot points in screenplays for many now, not social concerns to be exposed"...that is for most people, and I don't understand all of this concern for the powerful. What happened to speaking truth to power?

The following may be cringe-inducing for most RI members. But, speaking for myself, as a Christian, and also as a human being, I'm obsessed with finding the truth and the more I delve into this issue--the absolute evil of our rulers--the more I'm convinced that there is a spiritual element, that on some level this is spiritual warfare that's always existed but is now being unveiled...some sort of apocalypse.

I think the important thing here is not whether you believe in God or Satan, but to recognize that the super elite do, that many or most are deeply religious as religion is what gives any crusade its longevity because it resonates in the deepest part of the soul, keeps the fire burning, so to speak. But because their religion normally takes on a nominal Christian/Jewish/Muslim/secular humanist veneer, it’s hard to see until you begin to dissect it. Of course, there are many who are not religious but go along to get along or are compromised in some way.

Anyway, I'm convinced that Luciferianism/Satanism constitutes the nucleus of the ruling class religion. I think that the rampant pedophilia amongst the elite is not so much motivated by sexual attraction to children as it is motivated by their religion and of course the more pragmatic: the dynamic of blackmail and children used as currency in power politics, profit, etc..

The hardest part for most people is to reconcile this evil with the mostly likeable and even sometimes lovable face of these public figures, people that many worship to one degree or another. The bottom line is exposing these powerful god-like people for who or what they really are. That's why I'm investigating pizzagate. I want all the facts before I open my mouth.

And, PW, I don't understand why you are more concerned with guru's blog's effect on victims more than the effect of the atrocious pictures and what I assume are triggering words--considering they've been identified by the FBI as code words for pedophilila--posted by the politically powerful on Instagram, Twitter, etc. for all to see.

I agree with others that this is an excellent and illuminating thread; however, that I may not be sold on the specifics of PizzaGate.

One of my own bias is to reject or at least be uncomfortable with spiritual connotations especially conservative Christian (because that is what I am most exposed to as a USAian).

Aside no more than 300 posts on usenet in the late 1990s, my first time joining and posting in an online community was over the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. The about 5 years Holloway forums were active would be my biggest internet footprint except all the forums I posted on save Scared Monkeys ceased to exist. What caught my attention is that I had been following Plan Colombia for years and knew there was a controversial FOL (US military base) on Aruba. The equipment there was for drug and smuggling detection and intelligence gathering. SM came into being the day Natalee went missing. Four other Natalee forums came into being in three days; and all were strongly neoconservative and right wind Christian. Many of the involved Mountain Brook, AL children were deeply connected to the Bush family and or GOP. The first two days when the invasion of the "Alabama posse" were orchestrated by a US agent already in Aruba that then went away among assorted stories. I mentioned on the SM blog about the FOL and the search capabilities and my posts were deleted. After two weeks the blog was no more but there was a new SM forum (that still exists) that required registration to post.

I joined SM and played along with the culture and made several friends. One claimed to be an air force member at Kirtland AFB. We knew of an obscure USFS / US navy research project I had worked on as a Fed years prior. I had learned to watch site meters about that time and he was my target to watch (and he had a Kirtland AFB.mil address. I also noted that sometimes as much as 50% of the posters were .mil or .gov or .something foreign. The number of these posters were constant and tended to be opinion leaders and some were mods or administrators. Well I got banned there (only to see my screen name having a discussion about buying SM merchandize afterwards with the SMs site owner) and bounced around the various Natalee forums and was invited to several private forums that were obvious to me and some others to be honey pots. We were the folks that saw something political or covert as part of the story. That Fed agent that orchestrated the first two days was described buy Natalee's stepfather on Fox as a "family friend" and also as a "CIA agent". A reporter at an Aruba newspaper befriended me online (and was common on FOX as first the friend and then antagonist of Beth Twitty) and actually flirted me up in emails and gave me supposed inside info. She also asked me to stop posting about the agent because he was a family friend that lived near her and her family had sold him his retirement home, he was retired DEA and had helped the family as there was a lack in American presence. In the byzantine mess of forums I had two former mods at SM and a poster at SM who turned out to be ex (or current military) and who started one of the private honey pot forums tell me that my initial SM Air Force friend was also the evil mod Thorazine at SM and had stalked and harassed several women in real life and his military claims were false (but he knew of this obscure research project I had worked on as a Fed and from the site meter I knew "during our acquaintance" was posting from Kirtland AFB. None of the three had any clue I had communicated near daily for months with the guy. Anyway heavy MSM play of weird story add right wing Christians and my flags go on alert.

There is a story playing out now near where I live (3 hours away) but also where I lived last before here; the abduction and recovery of Sherri Panini. The story is another pretty blonde youthful woman gone missing this international media and a bunch of weirdness where a good proportion of the online community thinks it a hoax. Early on a fellow who claimed to have a Christian ministry that specialized in training and recovery of kidnap victims entered the story almost immediately and counter to law enforcement, offering a large ransom when no ransom had been demanded. The guy claims to be ex military and a military retainer and is also associated with the Bethel Church in Redding (which many locals including some Christians consider a cult). Now he has taken credit for Sherri Panini's return. Case reminds me in some ways of Natalee only with a better ending in that the young woman has come home. BTW I really appreciate Project Willow and she has planted in me a degree of sensitivity where I lacked. She put well into words the discomfort I have felt over some of Guruilla's obviously effort packed contribution here and elsewhere.

The PizzaGate stuff like what I just typed about (and the MCann disappearance) seem to be weirdly attractive (as in interesting attractive ) public narratives with agendas deeper and different than the surface story. On the early Natalee forums there was a Chinese poster screen named Ting so popular at SM that a group of woman adapted avatars that identified themselves as daughters and granddaughters if Ting.. Then after months Ting started an "Insurgents" thread and called Natalee gone missing the "Elegant social engineering of a front of World War III". The thread and Ting didn't last much longer. In fact the late May, June, July, and part of August (2005) posts of SM are gone, the forum crashed and that period could not be recovered. So I m pretty heavily convinced that the internet and social media and media in general (the SMs in this screed are for Scared Monkeys) is used by the military and intelligence agencies much more than we can conceive and what ever is ham-handed is likely matched by the sublime (from that perspective).

I've read and listened to numerous victims of SRA throughout the years and almost all of them said one of the hardest things to accept was that no one believed them. Recently, I've come to know someone who was a victim of sexual abuse by her father--now deceased, who was a high ranking military figure and a nominal Christian--and at times, his "friends". She never mentioned Satan or SRA, and I would never bring it up but I did tell her that her description of the abuse sounds almost ritualistic and she agreed. Now, I'm not saying she's a victim of SRA; I don't know. But, here's the thing, she hates her mother more than her father because her mother didn't believe her and did nothing to stop her father.

My point is if everyone keeps quiet in fear of triggering victims, and consequently no one believes SRA even exists, the only people who pay the price are the victims who have no one to turn, which, in my humble opinion, compounds their trauma that much more.

That people will realize that acknowledging parts of the MSM are full of shit and conspiracies do exist doesn't mean we should accept as gospel whatever nonsense agenda-driven alternative "news" sources present?

I'm more comfortable letting the individual decide for themselves. Even if they make the wrong decision. Otherwise, powerful interests will make the decisions for everyone. To the benefit of themselves alone.

People who find themselves in literal prison can be free in spirit.

Spirituality is not a hierarchy. No one can control your spirit. The 'psychic wargame' is just intellectual, whether it's religion, spirituality, belief system, philosophy... You're role-playing as a soul-wizard, fighting an ancient order of elite wizards with more money than you.

More than half of the active participants here would be permanently banned if I was stricter, though. That's definitely true.

Jerky was always one of the first half dozen or so commentators on Jeff's oldest blogs. If you read the fire pit you will see he has been long tolerated, and that often the most heated of threads produced the most telling results. (Fire is the test of gold)
