It's the slimy racist thought that counts.

Why isn't Black in jail?

On April 27 1981 Black, Droege, Larry Lloyd Jacklin and seven other men were arrested by the US Federal Agents in New Orleans as they prepared to board a boat with automatic weapons, shotguns, rifles, handguns, dynamite, ammunition, and a black and white Nazi flag. The incident was later dubbed the Bayou of Pigs.

Black knows this can only hurt Paul. Black has run for office before garnering miniscule percentages. Quoting Jeff, maybe it's "Because a militant, "patriot" right provides valuable service to the Deep Government ... "

Here's an interesting side light:
... working on the Stoner campaign was Jerry Ray, the brother of Martin Luther King's assassin James Earl Ray. On July 25, 1970, Jerry Ray shot Black (who was 16 at the time) in the chest with a .38-caliber hollow-point bullet to stop him from taking files from Stoner's campaign office. Ray was acquitted of all charges by claiming at trial he saw Black reaching for a weapon

In any case, it'll be interesting to see how this is spun. Hillary had to return some money, Kuchinich too.

Does anyone have writings or interviews from Paul where he openly and clearly distances himself from these far-right groups? Certainly he's not walking around unaware of the hubbub concerning this "phenomenon" and would see how this might tarnish his image.

Anyone?

Dear Congressman Paul:

Your Presidential campaign has drawn the enthusiastic support of an imposing collection of Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, Holocaust Deniers, 9/11 “Truthers” and other paranoid and discredited conspiracists.

Do you welcome- or repudiate – the support of such factions?

More specifically, your columns have been featured for several years in the American Free Press –a publication of the nation’s leading Holocaust Denier and anti-Semitic agitator, Willis Carto. His book club even recommends works that glorify the Nazi SS, and glowingly describe the “comforts and amenities” provided for inmates of Auschwitz.

Have your columns appeared in the American Free Press with your knowledge and approval?

As a Presidential candidate, will you now disassociate yourself, clearly and publicly, from the poisonous propaganda promoted in such publications?

As a guest on my syndicated radio show, you answered my questions directly and fearlessly.

Will you now answer these pressing questions, and eliminate all associations between your campaign and some of the most loathsome fringe groups in American society?

Along with my listeners (and many of your own supporters), I eagerly await your response.

Respectfully, Michael Medved

No, of course not, but it does indicate that his politics are of the sort which neo-nazis approve.

Michael Medved lumping everybody he disagrees with into "loathsome fringe groups" -- that's rich, especially considering the source.

The title of the article said "To his dismay Ron Paul becoming magnet for White Supremacists," but nowhere in the article did I even see a single word from Paul repudiating anything. In fact there isn't a comment from Paul on anything in the article.

Close, but not quite. More like pointing out the irony.

Be careful with your thought-box there. Osama bin laden is alleged to be on video supporting withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, but that doesn't make it a bad idea nor does it make the many Americans who want us the hell out of there wrong.

Regardless, the groups he mentioned are pretty "loathsome," though some might argue about the "truthers."
