Well, Mr. Joe Hillshoist, I apologise If I've offended you. Words are powerful tools in the hands and mouths of just about anyone. I'll keep my definition and gladly suffer your remarks calling me racist. It's the least I can do having been raised by a black nanny whilst my mother chose to return to the workforce in the early 50's. This dear lady attended my mother's funeral in 1987. I was very gladdened to see her after all those years.
And, no, that's not the end of my interaction with black people with whom I work, socialise, or care about. But I'm not going to bother you, or the board with my interracial friends, family, etc. I've already been judged by those who know me not, and I truly don't care what you think of me.
I have this to say about "fighting words". There is only one set of words that you, or anyone else on this planet could use against me and mine that would ABSOLUTELY set me on the user like a Tasmanian Devil. None of them are as trigger-pulling as the N-word in, and of themselves. They must be used in a certain sequence. The actual words matter not, it's a matter of semantics and connotation.
If anyone ever, for the rest of my natural life would utter to me, or in the presence of my hearing, ANY physical THREAT against myself, my family, my friends or close aquaintences, implying Actual Real Bloody Hurt, Maiming, or Death, and CONVINCE me that they really meant said threat, I promise you, Mr. Hillshoist that I would not only react violently, but I would use any weapon at my disposal to do my best to render said individual completely lifeless. I no longer believe in puffery nor empty threats towards any individual for any reason.
That's why I've possessed a concealed weapons permit, and carried a concealed firearm since 1998. I'm truly sorry that most of the folks in the U.K. and their affiliate countries have lost this right. It makes one THINK, if one has a brain; rather than punching, slapping, stabbing, or drawing and shooting ANYONE. Knowing that one legally carries the power of life or death over unsuspecting "arseholes" tends to make one a lot more tolerant of what most civilised folk would call bad behaviour.
