In the episode the Twin Towers are the target. The purpose is to enable the secret fascists in government/military/intel to blame the act on "terrorists" and bring about a suspension of liberties etc. in a scenario which completely ridicules the "Lone Gunmen" as credible. It appeals to folks like me who believe in conspiracies of the BFEE/Nazis but is in such a ridiculous scenario that the very idea discredits the idea for the masses (not that it worked, really, given folks' opinions of 9-1 today on the facts).
Rove's most famous effort in this regard prior to 9-11 was, not uncoincidentally, a plot to inoculate the public against the idea that Bush was a cokehead who had been busted in Texas and had to do community service. That story was fed to the late James Hatfield (but with false facts) who already had a shakey reputation as an excon convicted of, I believe, conspiracy to commit murder. The false fatc made the whole story and Hatgfield totally discreditted (even though it was true. Hatfield was brought to the boonies by Rove and two others in the Bush white house and fed the facts and then fed false facts about the judge involved in the sentencing . St. Martin Press cancelled the book and 60 minutes ran a hit piece on Hatfield when they had planned to blow thew whole story open prior to the 2000 election (which might have buried Bush).
Hatfield was almost destoryed by this. The story was discreditted because the messenger was unreliable (not because the actual core facts were untrue).
You can feel it. You can feel it in your own dreams. You can feel it in your own trips. You can feel that we're approaching the cusp of a catastrophe, and that beyond that cusp we are unrecognizable to ourselves. The wave of novelty that has rolled unbroken since the birth of the universe has now focussed and coalesced itself in our species. And if it seems unlikely to you that the world is about to transform itself, then think of it this way: think of a pond, and think of how if the surface of the pond begins to boil - that's the signal that some enormous protean form is about to break the surface of the pond and reveal itself. Human history IS the boiling of the pond surface of ordinary biology. We are flesh which has been caught in the grip of some kind of an attractor that lies ahead of us in time, and that is sculpting us to its ends...
sorry Pan, but when i saw you post that Glenn Beck link I had to bring up this one:
We can take all the examples of images that resonated (sometimes dramatically) with the WTC attack and come to several different conclusions.
One -- The Coup, Steve Jackson Games, The Lone Gunmen Pilot, and the creators of the $20 bill were privy to the 9/11 plot and embedded clues in diverse places. (Evidence? None)
Two -- Some of the above were in on the plot, some are coincidences. (Evidence? None)
Three -- It's all coincidence, synchronicity, Sheldrakian morphogenic fields, etc. (Some historical evidence)
Four -- The WTC towers are obvious symbolic targets of Western Capitalism/Imperalism/Consumerism/Whateverism, towering above arguably the most important and influential city on the planet. The idea of terrorists attacking major targets in the U.S. has been on the public radar screen for a decades, and the WTC was attacked by a bomb in 1993. (All assertions supported by evidence)
The idea that the U.S. government is not to be trusted, and would attack its own citizens to achieve dark aims related to a New World Order, has also been in the public consciousness, particularly in the realm of conspiracy researchers and (in the 90s) right wing militia groups. (Abundant evidence)
Creative artists (game designer Steve Jackson, rap group The Coup, the writers of the X-Files and Lone Gunmen), with their radar tuned to various conspiracy themes and ideas and current/contemporary history, independently create imagery showing the destruction of an obvious target of terrorists.
The writers of the Lone Gunmen pilot episode -- creative artists working in the field of conspiracy-themed entertainment -- come up with the idea of a secret cabal flying a remote-controlled plane into the WTC. After 9/11, X-Files and Lone Gunmen producer Frank Spotnitz says:
"That was such a disturbing thing. It was very upsetting. As I say in the DVD featurette, you write something like that, and you assume that if you can think of it, being a Hollywood writer, then somebody in the government has thought about it already."
And of course, people in the government *had* thought about it.
Excuse me, but while I concede there are eons' worth of historical evidence for coincidence, how in the world is there anything that could be defined as "historical evidence" for synchronicity or morphogenic fields? When did either of those two phenomena get the seal of approval from the Department of Legitimacy?
Seventhsonjr wrote:That certain members of such groups have infiltrated or collude with Hollywood's elite writers, directors, actors or production designers to communicate their goals to each other is undisputed given that Hollywood has amended scripts, altered storylines and revised history at the behest of government, military and intelligence officials (Campbell 29 August 2001). Even now, controversy surrounds the pilot episode of Chris Carter's The X-Files spin-off The Lone Gunmen wherein a secret faction of the US government, posing as foreign terrorists, hijacks a commercial airliner by remote control and targets the World Trade Centre (Killtown 30 January 2005). Written by Vince Gilligan, John Shiban and Frank Spotnitz would it be farfetched to suppose that one or more contributors to the show had inside information?
In a recent series of interviews with Alex Jones Prison Planet Dean Haglund, who played the role of Richard 'Ringo' Langly in The X-Files and The Lone Gunmen, revealed that the writers of these shows had links to the FBI and NASA, who supplied material for their show (Jones 17 December 2004 00:15:39-00:15:56). He also asserted that for the past twenty years the CIA has hired informants to attend Hollywood functions for conveying trends and concerns and related his encounter with one such informant who works as a psychic in Hollywood:
“She was at a Hollywood party where Chris Carter was standing in the corner in a tuxedo looking very out of place. And she went up to him and said, 'Whatever you're working on right now is going to make you millions of dollars'. And it was just before he started The X-Files. So she was a psychic who predicted the success of The X-Files not knowing what the project was or who he was. And then when I asked her, 'What were you doing at the Hollywood party?' she said that she was working for the CIA and that she would get e-mails telling her to go to this party and that party. And there'd be swanky affairs in the Hollywood hills and her name would always be on the guest list (she never knew how that happened). And then she would just go hang out at the party, and then at the end of the night go back and e-mail what she talked about. And she didn't really know where the e-mail went or who this person was, but then she would get a cheque. And it turns out that was the CIA and they were just, you know, keeping tabs on what was being talked about at Hollywood parties with the producers and the creators because film is one of the, you know, major foreign policy tools that are out there….”
