A woman went on a college shooting spree in America last week, and a couple months ago a young dude went on a shooting spree at a Colorado Christian college.

Tis the season I guess.

21 victims so far - not a lot of coverage (I am watching the Today show, and while it was the FIRST story, it was quite short indeed).

From ABC News.go.com:

"Kevin Sundstrom said, "He had [a] blank stare on his face, not a frown, not a grin, like there was nobody there. I went back to find Paul. He was reloading his gun, like he's in the backyard, methodically going about it.""

According to the radio five were killed "four of them women" and it's the fourth shooting of its kind in a week (or was it month?). As for the disarm the people stuff, I don't think so. I can't see Bush doing that. I didn't buy that under Clinton, certainly don't now. If they declared Martial Law people owning guns and using them wouldn't be resisting, they'd be commiting suicide.

No big deal. Having the occasional massacre is just the price we pay for being armed to the teeth.

Yes, some of that, but more would become terrified and desperate and go on shooting rampages.

They are ALWAYS on SSRI cocktails, of one sort or another. Yet ya dont hear the left calling for a ban of these drugs.

* He spent some time in a psychiatric treatment center reportedly for self-abuse.

* He spent some time working at a prison/correctional facility.

* He spend some time in the Army before being discharged for "unknown" reasons.

* And this:
A Green Bay, Wis.-based Internet gun dealer who sold a weapon to the Virginia Tech shooter last year said he also sold handgun accessories to Kazmierczak.

"I'm still blown away by the coincidences," Eric Thompson said. "I'm shaking. I can't believe somebody would order from us again and do this."

What a coinkydink indeed.

The Pearl Massachusettes school shooter, the mass shooting in 1997 that literally kicked off the modern school shooting phenomenon claimed to have been possessed, and involved in a Satanic occult order. Really out there stuff that came out in the investigation.

The DC Beltway Sniper, that black Iraq war vet dude I believe was a total manchurian candidate

And most these mass school/mall/office shootings that come in waves may very well be keyword triggered somehow.
Look at that Nasa Johnson space center shooting that happened 2 days after VT Tech.

Look at how Bush was several miles from the Omaha mall shooting, just as homeland security had been at the mall hours earlier.

Well that's what people cry every time, but has there actually even been any major push for that in the wake of recent shootings?

No (well not in the US, its happened in Australia and the UK tho), in fact after this one there is a call to allow people to carry weapons on campus. The theory being that armed students would shoot the nutcases before they did the damage they do.

I can see a few problems with that myself.

What would be interesting tho would be to see how often shootings like this happen in the wake of calls for stricter arms control. IE did someone call for a ban on guns or a limit on the availability of arms or ammo in the last 1 or 2 months. Did some legislation to ban guns get introduced then voted down in the last few months etc etc.

Also whats the policy on arms control of Hillary, Obama, Mc Cain, etc etc??
