Noreen has registered but hasn't posted. I've emailed her, using the contact info of her website (which differed slightly from the info with which she registered here), to confirm her identity, but I haven't heard back yet.

Et, I have tremendous regard for your adherence to principle, and don't think myself so wise that all should do as I do. But I would count to ten before writing to Mrs. Gosch to tell her about a particular instance of lunacy online that is so dwarfed by the external realities that prompted them as to be almost insignificant by comparison. Were I in her position, I would appreciate a condolence letter and validation of whatever part of her experience, emotional or actual, can be validated by any person or group. And everyone likes to hear a friendly word of support, every now and again. Beyond that, I don't know there's much that is informative enough not to be canceled out by its potential intrusiveness.

As always, I'm probably wrong. In fact, as I typed that sentence, it occurred to me that you mean someone should make sure that she knows, at a minimum, that a poster here who falsely claimed to know her is now inactive, and that all goodhearted people who were inadvertently involved in his imposture regret it very much and wish her well.

You're right. A polite note to that effect would be very considerate. I knew I had a reason to regard you highly!

ON EDIT: fixed a typo, and as long as I'm already here, may as well add: And not to think myself wise!

compared2what?, I am not an idiot but I don't understand a word of your post. Please use everyday language....
Apparently Noreen already knows that someone is posting here who claims to know her and have a relationship with her yet she doesn't know them. She is letting us know to take that poster's "quotes" with a grain of salt.

Am I the only one deeply disturbed by this thread? It seems to fit perfectly with the foul odor of the whole case.

Is there some other emotional aspect (previous feud) which would prod MP into quitting with no further explanation? Because it seems like a drastic step to take, even if he was being called out. It is hard for me to reconcile the apparently heartless deception here with the nature of MP as a person based on his posts.

This just got extremely f'n fishy - either that or abnormally callous.

Please excuse any stilted phrasing etc by me, I am typing this on a virtual keyboard. I'd add this in my last post, but my browser limits text entry length.

How did things get fishy....MP claimed he was on a regular conversational basis with Noreen and he wasn't. I guess that's why he left....why is that unusual?

Also, I don't really find this "popcorn eating" entertaining!

Care to speculate on what his motivations were? Y'know, since he has gone away at precisely the moment when such questions would be asked.

On reflection, I see that the fishy and callous options are essentially the same. I never meant that he was "one of them", I was just astounded at the murkiness and negativity which seems to gravitate to this case rather than all of the others. Perhaps this sort of thing is a direct result of such an attention-getter as the Gosch site and its inherent darkness.

That is everyday language to me, sadly. Have mercy and ask politely if you want clarification. I don't like being a bad writer, it's just my natural mode.

I understood you just fine. I think its a matter of taste, personally.

Light:

People occasionally say things that aren't true to make themselves seem more important than they really are to impress a group or individual. That's simple human nature and everyone has probably done something like it in their lifetime, although most would probably avoid inserting themselves into what is very probably a(unsolved) murder case.

Heavy:

Maybe he's involved in the case. In a bad way. And that's something I really don't want to believe, but you asked for speculation.

As far as the rest of the thread here, I want to clarify something myself, as I've garnered more than a few negative responses for the things I've asked. I didn't arrive at questioning Johhny's mother as a potential suspect out of a vacuum. The *only* reason I wondered at all if such was the case is the disconnect between what I would do as a parent and her decisions to post bondage images of her own child on a website that's almost certainly evolved into a feeding trough for the perverse.

I understand posting images of her son and asking, hell, forever, if anyone has seen him, but(and I'm not being a smart ass, honest) showing images of him tied up and gagged, etc...I really don't think anyone's going to come out and say, 'Yeah, I remember that night; I was in that hotel room and I saw him tied up'. These images are of limited value in that regard. I would imagine they would be trophies for pedophiles out there, and bring immense satisfaction to the perpetrators who could relive the crime in extreme detail whenever they want as a boon from the victim's mother simply by visiting her web space.

I would never do such a thing myself. Gratify the culprit or provide seed material for other freaks to get off on. No fucking way.

Comprehending why she does such a thing is what led me to ask other forum members if she may have been involved in her son's disappearance.

Just want to be clear on that.

It's an exciting thought that NG has joined RI.
I hope she feels strong enough to get posting soon and assist all board members in trying to fully grasp the current state of play with the case.
She will be an invaluable resource, and first hand info on her 'gut feelings' about various aspects [such as Gannon/Guckert, the mystery visit of the man claiming to be Johnny, and many more] will, I'm sure, help us all to get nearer the track we should be taking.

You are more than welcome Noreen, and your case is considered by many here to be the key to a very dark room, one into which we all wish to eventually shed some light. Let us hope there may even be info or aspects from this board and it's members which might assist in some small way.

I don't think there's anything so mysterious about MP's decision to bunk off... For whatever reason, he [marginally] represented himself as a 'somewhat inside source' ...and when called out, ran out.

BTW Stack, as your rebuttal of my earlier post actually contained precisely nothing of the spirit [or meaning] of the original, I see no need to repeat myself, as surely as eggs is eggs, you would only miss the point again!
but I have to confess, this little gem did make me laugh out loud:

Stackdag:
This thing won't be put to bed until it's fully investigated by the police or FBI who have the power to punish those reponsible. Period.

The Irony/Naivete index of such an utterance is off the scale, and I'm sure NG would laugh too. If she could only stop crying.
