something is going to happen..

Postby sunny » Tue Oct 18, 2005 7:40 pm

Rest assured, something is going to happen-
according to Cannonfire:

"Ponder, if you will, the surreal spectacle of a newswoman claiming that she went to jail to protect a source whose name she now cannot recall. Some witnesses ask for amnesty; Judy hopes to be granted amnesia."

Fitzie isn't stupid, he's got it all worked out. Apparently, references to "Aspen's" in Libby's letter are alluding to the Aspen Institute, of which Cheney is an integral part. Read Miller:

"In answer, I told the grand jury about my last encounter with Mr. Libby. It came in August 2003, shortly after I attended a conference on national security issues held in Aspen, Colo. After the conference, I traveled to Jackson Hole, Wyo. At a rodeo one afternoon, a man in jeans, a cowboy hat and sunglasses approached me. He asked me how the Aspen conference had gone. I had no idea who he was."

Jackson Hole, Cheney's home.

Cannonfire has it nailed-cannonfire.blogspot.com/

Clearly, Miller is sending signals to Dickie that she COULD name him but hasn't yet, and wants something in return. If ordinary citizens can put all this stuff together, you can bet Fitzie, with access to vast amounts of testimony and facts can put it together even better.

If there is any justice left in the WORLD, Cheney, at the very least, will be indicted on Espionage charges as he so richly deserves. If something really big, on this scale, does not happen in the near future, I will abandon all hope. For now, it feels good to believe that it really might happen and I refuse, yet, to think that it COULDN'T.

Here's an interesting twist. Miller could be called to testify in another case of Fitz's, not related to these Plame-gate investigations. Surely he wouldn't negotiate away anything in the Plame one in exchange for concessions on this other case, would he?

www.suntimes.com/output/n...lah18.html

snip

Quote:
Bridgeview used car salesman Muhammad Salah recalls being beaten, housed in a "refrigerator cell" and threatened with rape by Israeli soldiers until he admitted to bankrolling overseas terrorists, according to a new filing in U.S. District Court.

In an odd twist, the interrogation was witnessed by embattled New York Times reporter Judith Miller, and defense attorneys suggested Monday the best way for the U.S. government to prove its case -- and prove Salah wasn't abused -- is to call the controversial journalist to the witness stand.

Ashcroft

Postby ewastud » Wed Oct 19, 2005 2:35 am

Actually the criticism of Ashcroft is that he took several months to turn it over to a special prosecutor when he had a clear conflict of interest in having hired Karl Rove for his own political campaigns in the past. There is the possibility Ashcroft could be indicted for that. Also Condoliar Rice was a member of the White House Iraq Group and is a likely candidate for indictmnet, too. Current AG Alberto Gonzales was the White House Counsel when the scandal first broke and he might be indicted for having given WH operatives a warning and opportunity to destroy incriminating documents and computer email files.

What I meant, ewastud, was that from the time that Ashcroft announced his decision to the time that Fitzy was appointed was very brief, really, as if someone had the complexities all thought out by the time Fitzy stepped in.

Yes, dbeach, Mel Carnahan died in a plane crash two years before Wellstone, and it was very similar to the loss of Wellstone later, in that they were both running neck-and-neck with their opponent up until the last several weeks before the election, and then each had started to inch ahead in the polls. Plane crashes and suicides--how many do you think the American public can absorb before it finally dawns on them?

I've been thinking that it is possible that we all may have our hopes up too high. But I find great comfort in knowing that they all have to be squirming, considering how severe the possible consequences are. I'll be surprised if Cheney survives the stress.

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 10/19/05 9:01 am

Chigger, I really think it has dawned on people that these "crashes" and "suicides" were stinky, but the media keeps a lid on it. Even in my area of the world where most people are conservative Republicans, suspicion is always high when important people die suddenly, in whatever circumstances.
Quite simply, the media aren't going to tell people that people think that they are full of shit when they act like "there's nothing to see here, folks, move along."
