I have a soft spot for vintage political novelty tunes.

Antique Fair - Fuddle Duddle

The House of Commons - Do the Fuddle Duddle (w/ B-side, "Funky Fuddle Duddle")

The story: "The Prime Minister interrupted me in a way you wouldn't expect on the street, by mouthing a four-letter obscene-ity...."

It's only a faux novelty political song. But they were only ever a faux novelty act, may god rest their restless souls.

My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes To Bitburg) -- The Ramones

Plus: It's still not to late to make this the most significant event of the '80s. Assuming that it isn't already.

There's definitely quite a lot to be said for dancing your pants off, too.

ON EDIT: Or just forgetting about the pants altogether.

You'll Never Get To Heaven (If You Break My Heart)

Anyone Who Had a Heart

A brief shout out to the genius of Miss Warwick, whose ability to sing the most impossible shit as if it took no effort or emotion at all makes her easy to overlook. Though "Anyone Who Had a Heart" is one of my favorite Dionne songs in part because she must have taken advantage of a momentary lapse in Burt Bacharach's attention or something to deliver the last few seconds with feeling.

But seriously. Who can sing this stuff? I've been practicing that one my whole life and I still can't get it right.
