I think the rise in sea temp. has been 2 or 3 degrees in the last 20 years. Yeah, thats an issue thats needs adressing, but does it warrant a comment like this:

Dr. Fishman said "this is exactly what we would expect for dolphin behavior... if you had hot water poured on you, you would flee, wouldn't you?"

Sorry, I'm not buying thier reason for the dolphins exodus. Every year I see pods of dolphins in the Monterey Bay in summer, then they migrate south in the winter to warmer waters. Its what dolphins do.
Why are the dolphins terrified? Because the waters just went up a degree? This article does little to explain.
With a name like "Gaia's Revenge" it would seem the researchers have a not so hidden agenda. That would be global warming which is a noble and important cause for sure, but are they missing the real reason the dolphins are terrified?
Mother mentions a "dead zone", I don't know anything about it, but I would consider it before a rise in temperature (which is happening at a rate the dolphins can escape without panic).

<on edit> mother, after reading the other thread you were posting on tonight, I want to say that you were mistreated. I like your posts, I think that you are full of wisdom and not afraid to ask questions. I enjoy your posts. Don't let immature, punk-asses get you down. Your better than that.

Edited by: BajaSur at: 3/5/06 1:11 am
