Damn interesting. Got sucked into the whole thing, gawdy late-80's network ads and all.
What
was it about pink and teal back then, anyway?
I'm surprised by how much ground is covered, and how many characters show up in it, like Budd Hopkins, Bill Moore, Jesse Marcel Jr., etc.
The mood music is almost condescending, but the treatment, overall, seems supportive and well-meaning.
Seems.
It's interesting that they mention the NSA a few times, which didn't officially exist as of 1988 AFAIK, did it?
On Edit:
This aired the week leading up to the US theatrical premiere of Alien Nation, a trailer for which runs late into the broadcast. Of all damn things to be premiering within days of this show!
It also coincided with the Kennedy mini-series, which reminds me of the lore that at least one of the cards stacked against JFK was his unwillingness to tow the Brookings party line.
AT&T is a major corporate sponsor.
