Good catch.

Also, somewhat related, yesterday evening on the station that hosts Coast to Coast the top-of-hour 'news' highlight included the tidbit that in a recent poll American citizens cited 'concern' that NATO would not take its role in the Afghan war seriously enough.

I was like, WHaaaa? I don't know of ANYBODY whose worried or concerned about this -- most people I know think the US made a huge mistake to get involved in Afghanistan, that we're there under false pretenses, over-extended and in a losing battle with an abstract enemy. They're far more angered or distressed over prospects the US will be in Afghanistan for a generation or more, like the US has been in South Korea, Japan and Germany. So this notion that Americans are 'concerned' NATO won't pull their weight is most certainly a blatant opinion-management psyop showing once again to folks whose eyes aren't welded shut how devious, manipulative and complicit the mainstream media is in unquestioningly parroting the military-industrial establishment's foreign policy agenda.

Which is also what the apparently misleading BS about '30 Taliban insurgents' killed by a drone-fired missile-attack is about. I can't even imagine how utterly terrible it would be living under the threat of instant-death from the air for being a 'suspect person.'

My GOD, decent people ought to be in-arms, outraged ovr such a monstrous violation of the US's most basic precept re: the absolute value of an individual's human and civil rights. Now, routinely, hundreds of people are killed or horrifically injured by the US's wanton disregard for the well-being of civilians. US complicity in betraying Afghanistan's people is an atrocious blot that NO amount of violence can 'fix' -- it's so insane that an illegal war which the US prosecuted on its own after realizing the UN would never condone it has now achieved the status of a legitimate conflict requiring NATO participation. I doubt more than 30% of the American public supports it -- and then only as the result of tremendous disinfo and false reporting that portrays it as a 'good fight'.

Such incredible bullshit.

When are America's 'leaders' finally going to be held accountable for their war crimes?

Until then, America can have NO moral credibility whatsoever. We all ought to be ashamed at allowing ourselves to be cheated out of the promise of progressive, just, enlightened democratic self-rule.

Sometimes I think we're de-evolving as a species, becoming more brutish, stupid, unthinking, crude and self-defeating.

We fall for the dumbest shit.

2nd German official quits over Afghan airstrike
November 27, 2009 -- Updated 1415 GMT (2215 HKT)

* Germany's former defense minister quits over controversial airstrike
* General Wolfgang Schneiderhahn quit a day earlier
* Bild claims German army chief knew civilians could be killed in airstrike
* At least 90 killed -- many believed to be civilians -- in September airstrike
* NATO, Afghan officials investigating airstrike but results still classified

Berlin, Germany (CNN) -- Former German Defense Minister and current Labor Minister Franz Josef Jung has resigned over a fatal Afghan airstrike ordered by German forces, the Labor Ministry said Friday.

It comes the day after the head of the German army stepped down over the same incident.

The resignation of Gen. Wolfgang Schneiderhan, the army's chief of staff, came after Germany's Bild newspaper reported he knew civilians could be killed when the Sept. 4 airstrike was ordered.

The attack in the northern province of Kunduz killed at least 90 people, according to reports at the time. Bild said 142 people were killed. Local Afghan officials said at least half of the dead were civilians, and NATO acknowledged soon afterward that civilians had been killed.

NATO said the death toll is contained in a classified report about the incident that is now in the hands of German authorities.

The German commander in the area called in the strike after Afghans tried to siphon fuel from two tankers hijacked by the Taliban a day earlier. The fuel had been earmarked for NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

Bild said it had access to confidential documents and it posted a video of the airstrike on its Web site. It said German Col. Georg Klein was not able to rule out the possibility of civilian victims before he ordered the strike.

The newspaper said a report dated Sept. 6 -- two days after the strike -- made clear that it was impossible for Klein to verify information his informant had provided before he called in the airstrike.

Jung said Friday he was taking responsibility for miscommunication following the incident.

Bild reported that for days after the incident, Jung -- who was then defense minister -- repeated that there had been no civilian victims. That was despite Jung having videos and documents that proved the defense ministry knew about civilian victims and also had insufficient information before the strike was ordered, Bild said.

"Although this information painted a completely different picture of events, Minister Jung repeated in newspaper interviews and before Parliament, again and again, that 'terrorist Taliban exclusively' had been hit, and that the local commander had had 'clear information' that the people by the tankers were exclusively insurgents," Bild reported.

I noticed this from the raw story article..

Not 29, not 31. Thirty.

What does this mean? For the Security Crank, it means we just shouldn't believe the numbers.

I remember a few strikes killing "33" a few times, and upon average it's about 33 a month taking in all figures. "33" is also the number of people reportedly killed whenever "al Qaeda" blows up a building in Algeria's capital(usually, on the 11th of a month, no joke) and of course the number of dead in the VTech massacre.

I think Rawstory is noticing something interesting, more proof the numbers are all fudged.

I remember ABC News realized there was a numerological pattern happening with all the so called "al Qaeda" attacks, usually happening mostly on the 11th or 7th of a month:

As everyone knows, al Qaeda is obsessed with occult numerology
