Hugo Chavez Blames U.S. For Earthquake In Haiti, Claims "Tectonic Weapon" Was Used [Video Included]

by Danielle Canada January 21, 2010, 12:48pm
http://hiphopwired.com/2010/01/21/hugo- ... -was-used/

The leader of Venezuela Hugo Chavez is blaming the United States for Haiti's earthquake claiming that the U.S. tested a “tectonic weapon” causing the devastation.

According to Chavez the earthquake was a result of “weapon earthquakes” started by the U.S. that would eventually be used to take over Iran.

The Venezuelan media also coincides with Chavez's claim and reports that the earthquake "may be associated with a project called HAARP, a system that can generate violent and unexpected changes in climate."

HAARP which stands for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program has been the source of controversy for many conspiracy theorists.

Former Secretary of Defense William Cohen even expressed concerns over the program previously saying,

“In eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves…."

PRESS TV reports that the purpose of HAARP is “directed at the occasional reconfiguration of the properties of the Earth's ionosphere to improve satellite communications.”

Chavez also said the U.S should “stop playing God.”

Maybe his petition was also for show.

It seems that the conversation RE Chavez on other mainstream blogs I like and know skews towards "crazy Chavez" like about oh, 100 percent.

It got me to thinking: what makes us so effing crazy here? Or at least odd?

I know I hold my shit together when it comes to commenting in the public square of the mainstream and I come here to say what I really think. I'm not crazy, I'm just "creative" and love hyperbole. I also believe in the deep impact of evil.

If I were to totally go the route of what evil and the occult is -- Haiti was an occult sacrifice and the fear, the meme of fear, was meant for everybody else vibrating out of the intensity of the Haitian souls. Chavez for all we know, could be and always could have been an accomplice, an agent. Fear, uncertainty and doubt -- FUD. All large powerful incorporated entities engage in it.

My sci-fi writing brain skews for itself, into the "oh absolutely. Doomsday device all the way!". Prosaic, scientific side, in which I was trained all my life says "natural disasters can happen anytime and anywhere".

Combine the two and I get "Gee. What an utterly absurdly fabulously understandable coinkidink!" This is why I never talk politics and current events with my liberal friends. And certainly not conspiracies! (maybe when I am drunk enough) I make up for it in sports talk, video game talk and gossip about others. I've gotten quite a few friends interested in the NFL mafia shit we've been discussing here inspired in my mind by that long running NFL thread. Groups of conservative, but friendly military dudes I've met around and about, however, are really into my "alter-ego", which just so happens to be my true self.

(just a personal anecdote -- apologies)

Here's an aspect I just realized we can't leave out either:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haitian_Vodou

Haitian Revolution

The majority of the Africans who were brought as slaves to Haiti were from Western and Central Africa. The Vodun practitioners brought over and enslaved in the United States primarily descend from the Ewe, Anlo-Ewe, and other West African groups.[citation needed] The survival of the belief systems in the New World is remarkable, although the traditions have changed with time and have even taken on some Catholic forms of worship.[1] Two important factors, however, characterize the uniqueness of Haitian Vodou as compared to African Vodun; the transplanted Africans of Haiti, similar to those of Cuba and Brazil, were obliged to disguise their loa (sometimes spelled lwa) or spirits as Roman Catholic saints, an element of a process called syncretism.

Roman Catholicism was mixed into the religion to hide their "pagan" religion from their masters, who had forbidden them to practice it. Thus, Haitian Vodou has roots in several West African religions, and incorporates some Roman Catholic and Arawak Amerindian influences. It is common for Haitians followers of the Vodou religion to integrate Roman Catholic practices by including Catholic prayers in Vodou worship. Throughout the history of the island from the day of independence of 1804 to the present, missionaries repeatedly came over to the island to convert the Haitians back to the Christian religion which previously had been forced on them. This has set many Haitians to project vodou as an evil religion, from the influence of the missionaries to abusive practitioners who use vodou to persecute.

Vodou, as it is known in Haiti and the Haitian diaspora, is the result of the pressures of many different cultures and ethnicities of people being uprooted from Africa and imported to Hispaniola during the African slave trade. Under slavery, African culture and religion was suppressed, lineages were fragmented, and people pooled their religious knowledge and from this fragmentation became culturally unified. In addition to combining the spirits of many different African and Amerindian nations, Vodou has incorporated pieces of Roman Catholic liturgy to replace lost prayers or elements. Images of Catholic saints are used to represent various spirits or "mistè" ("mysteries", actually the preferred term in Haiti), and many saints themselves are honored in Vodou in their own right. This syncretism allows Vodou to encompass the African, the Indian, and the European ancestors in a whole and complete way. It is truly a Kreyòl religion.

The most historically important Vodou ceremony in Haitian history was the Bwa Kayiman or Bois Caïman ceremony of August 1791 that began the Haitian Revolution, in which the spirit Ezili Dantor possessed a priestess and received a black pig as an offering, and all those present pledged themselves to the fight for freedom.[10] This ceremony ultimately resulted in the liberation of the Haitian people from French colonial rule in 1804, and the establishment of the first black people's republic in the history of the world and the second independent nation in the Americas.

So what's the deal? Can someone translate what Chavez is saying in that clip? Is this just a rumor about what he said? Is the footage used in the clip of him actually talking about something else?

I'll believe Chavez before I'd believe anybody in the U.S. government.

To judge by Google it's been pretty widely reported in the Spanish-language press, also in the Chinese People's Daily Spanish edition and that kind of thing. Not too much in English though. Apparently Chavez, Evo Morales (Bolivia) and Daniel Ortega (Nicaragua) have all been expressing alarm at the number of US troops dispatched to Haiti, which is not too far off Chavez and Ortega's shores-- 11,000, according to Morales, as reported in the Chinese paper above and badly translated by Yahoo:

More than 11,000 Military staff American they will be unfolded in Haiti in the next days from boats located in the environs. American general Daniel Allyn explained that the military will provide security in "key targets that exceed the capacity or the reach the forces of the ONU".

from: "Acusa presidente boliviano a EEUU de usar terremoto para invadir Haití" ("Bolivian president accuses USA of using earthquake to invade Haiti")
http://spanish.peopledaily.com.cn/31618/6874819.html

The "tectonic weapon" speech was apparently something Chavez said in Caracas on Thursday, Jan 21, and that too has been widely reported and discussed, as on this Spanish financial discussion board, translated via Google:

"Chávez: Terremoto en Haití provocado por la marina estadounidense" ("Chavez: Earthquake in Haiti led by the U.S. Navy")

Please click on page 3 of this thread and follow the link before speculating on precisely why Evil Wacky Bolsehevik Bolivarian Conspiracy-Nut Hugo Chavez said what he in fact NEVER actually said.

Sorry, I can't make heads or tails from that DU thread.

From the Voltaire article:
According to Russia Today, Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez Frías evoked the possibility that the United States are behind the series of earthquakes that struck the Caribben region last week, including the one that devastated Haiti. However, according to Vive Tv, the allegation originated with the Russian armed forces. Be that as it may, Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua have requested the UN Security Council to convene an emergency session. This forum will be expected to examine these charges and look into the "humanitarian" invasion of Haiti by US troops.

and then it says:
Editor’s Note: The following article was written and published by ViveTv, a Venezuelan public channel. The video was broadcasted by Russia Today, a Russian public channel. Oddly enough, the Venezuelan channel designates the Russian Army as the source of these claims which, in turn, attributes them to President Chávez.

So I am gathering that he said it, but that he got it from the Russians, and the Russians are saying that they heard it from Chavez?

Nevertheless, has anyone else heard of the request for the UN Security Council to convene a special session on these charges?

I think that if Earthquake machinery were functional, a whole lot of us in the various hot-spots around the world would be pancaked. However, I tend to agree with Naomi Klein's "Disaster Capitalism'. The freaks in power have all kinds of plans to profit from disaster. Laid out in "Project for a New American Century" if I remember correctly.

Never credit woo theories when human cupidity will suffice.

The earth's plates moves... then there are Earthquakes. Nothing too special about it, it just happens.

If HAARP actually puts warheads deep into the Earth, then well... Humanity is quite simple a waste of damn space on this Planet. 'Nuff said.
