False Flag Alert? intelligence specialist fakes bomb scare

This guy was sending a message, either he knew something and wanted to let people know something was up, or he didn't want to be reactivated and go back to war. Any other ideas?

BANGOR, Maine -- The father of a former Air Force intelligence specialist was left to wonder why his son went from leading a "squeaky clean" life to being accused of claiming he had explosives aboard a trans-Atlantic flight, forcing the jetliner and its passengers to spend the night in Bangor.

Delta Air Lines Flight 273 from Paris to Atlanta was diverted to Maine because the passenger said he had a fake passport and explosives aboard the plane, U.S. officials said. The passport was real, law enforcement officials said, but there were no explosives on the Airbus A330.

The officials spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing.

Richard Stansberry was perplexed after government officials told him that his son, Derek Stansberry, 26, of Riverview, Fla., had been detained Tuesday at Bangor International Airport.

"My son's profession in the military required he live a squeaky clean life," Richard Stansberry said.

In Washington, Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Col. Linda Pepin said the man detained on Flight 273 was a senior airman and worked as an intelligence specialist She said he was on active duty from June 2005 to 2009 and was last stationed at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Charde Houston, an all-star forward for the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx, was on the flight. She said she saw no clues on the handcuffed man's face as he was led off the plane on Tuesday.

"He looked extremely calm, like a blank face. No emotion," Houston said.

Passengers were told they'd complete their flight to Atlanta late Wednesday morning, while Derek Stansberry remained in Bangor awaiting an appearance in U.S. District Court.

There were 235 passengers and 13 crew members aboard Flight 273 when it landed safely just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bangor International Airport. Passengers said there were some tense moments but everyone remained calm and there was no shouting or ruckus.

"It was scary for three hours, but we bonded and kept each other's spirits high," said Nancy Albertson, of Charlottesville, Va.

Passengers prayed together, she said.

The pilot eventually explained the situation, said Adithya Sustry, of Chicago.

"He basically came on about an hour after the drama started and said, 'There's been a security threat and basically we think we have it under control. But we are going to land in Bangor.' They did not get any more specific about what the security situation was," Sustry said.

After the man was apprehended, flight attendants asked passengers - including several children - in the back of the plane to move to empty seats in the front of the aircraft. They also collected passengers' pillows and blankets, piling the cushions in the back of the plane.

It was not immediately clear what was the significance of the pillows being taken from passengers.

After a failed attack aboard a Detroit-bound flight on Christmas Day, for a period of time there were extra pat-downs before boarding flights, no getting up for the last hour of flights and some passengers reported being told they couldn't have items in their laps, including laptops and pillows.

Among the passengers spending the night in Bangor was J. Alexander, from the television show "America's Next Top Model."

"Some crazy person almost screwed up my trip," Alexander told reporters, describing the flight ordeal, after clearing customs. "Now I can say I've experienced that and I don't want it to happen again."

Richard Stansberry, of Apollo Beach, Fla., said he had not been able to speak to his son.

"Unfortunately, I don't think they'd let him call me," the elder Stansberry said. "In a situation like this, the government is doing what it is supposed to do."

The Bangor airport is accustomed to dealing with diverted flights.

It's the first large U.S. airport for incoming European flights, and it's the last U.S. airport for outgoing flights, with uncluttered skies and one of the longest runways on the East Coast. Aircraft use the airport when there are mechanical problems, medical emergencies or unruly passengers.

Yep, Bangor briefly hosted Cat Stevens before some feds escorted him by car four hours south to Boston for the first flight back to England.

It's also, due to the runway length, an alternate landing site for the Space Shuttle. Or so they've always said.

It was also featured in the TV film of the Stephen King story (imagine that), The Langoliers.

Anyway, thx for the editorial styling in the OP. Definitely something's not organic about this.

Looks like a news cycle diversion away from Pacifica Radio's 9/11 Truth broadcasting show today-

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28020

Look at the key components of the story.
They both mirror the cover story of 9/11 hijackers AND the expose of US mil-intel involvement.

Another spook win-win.

Man charged with making bomb threats on plane
An Air Force reservist working for a defense contractor in Africa...

FBI Special Agent James R. McCarty said in an affidavit that Stansberry, 26, of Riverview, Fla., had passed a somewhat incoherent note to a flight attendant:

"I am not an American citizen. I was in Ouaga illegally. My passports and identity are fake. I bought that bag on eBay and have no association with the United States. I will take whatever COA the US wants. I will leave my wallet & passport on this aircraft."

McCarty said the note ended: "Please let my family know the truth — I [screwed] up & will let the HN preside over prosecutions; and that I love them."

It was unclear what Stansberry meant by the acronyms.

Stansberry made rambling statements about holding "high level government clearances" for secret material, and said the bombs were to "divert attention from the fact that he had classified information," McCarty said.

He also allegedly stated that he believed people on the plane were following him, ridiculing him and using interrogation techniques on him, although these people never spoke directly to him or asked him any questions.

Update from cryptogon.com

Derek Michael Stansberry: Former Air Force Intelligence Specialist Claims to Have Bomb and Fake Passport Aboard Trans-Atlantic Flight
April 28th, 2010

Update: Text of Note

COA may mean Course Of Action.

Via: Los Angeles Times:

Air Force reservist Derek Michael Stansberry allegedly claimed in a confused note to have explosives aboard a Delta flight from Paris to Atlanta. His possible motives are unclear.

An Air Force reservist working for a defense contractor in Africa was charged Wednesday with making bomb threats on a flight to the U.S. that prompted four air marshals to barricade his boots and laptop in the rear of the jetliner for fear any explosives might go off in midair.

Derek Michael Stansberry, who served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan as an Air Force intelligence specialist, allegedly said that he had packed dynamite in his boots and other explosives in his laptop, and that he had a “pressure switch” to detonate the devices.

The plane, Delta Flight 273 from Paris to Atlanta, carrying 235 passengers and a crew of 13, was diverted to Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday. Stansberry was arrested and charged with interfering with a flight crew and making false bomb threats on an aircraft.

FBI Special Agent James R. McCarty said in an affidavit that Stansberry, 26, of Riverview, Fla., had passed a somewhat incoherent note to a flight attendant:

“I am not an American citizen. I was in Ouaga illegally. My passports and identity are fake. I bought that bag on eBay and have no association with the United States. I will take whatever COA the US wants. I will leave my wallet & passport on this aircraft.”

McCarty said the note ended: “Please let my family know the truth — I [screwed] up & will let the HN preside over prosecutions; and that I love them.”

It was unclear what Stansberry meant by the acronyms.

Stansberry made rambling statements about holding “high level government clearances” for secret material, and said the bombs were to “divert attention from the fact that he had classified information,” McCarty said.

The crew alerted four air marshals on the plane. At that point, McCarty said, Stansberry was moved to the rear of the aircraft, along with his boots, backpack and laptop. Blankets and pillows were braced around the items to serve as a makeshift “bunker … to dampen the effects of any potential explosion.”

Authorities said it turned out there were no explosives in the laptop, although a minute trace of some chemical was “‘preliminarily” found on the boots. They theorized it may have come from his work in Africa.

His father, Richard Stansberry of Apollo Beach, Fla., could not explain his son’s alleged behavior. “Something did happen. But what caused it to happen, I have no clue,” the father said in an interview.

He denied that his son was stressed from his Air Force service from 2005 to 2009, when he conducted mission briefings for flight operations over Iraq and Afghanistan. “He was kind of like a big brother in the sky” to pilots, the father said.

He speculated that his son might have been affected by taking an Ambien sedative for the long flight. The son told authorities he took one Ambien, then said he took eight, then said he also used Valium.

Agent McCarty said the younger Stansberry “was responsive to questions, but he spoke in military jargon and had trouble keeping the events in a chronological order.”

In a separate incident Wednesday morning, a Continental Express flight from Houston to the Washington area was diverted to Greensboro, N.C., after someone discovered the word “bomb” written on a bathroom mirror. No bombs were found and no arrests were made.

Update: New Version of Story Adds More Details

Via: Washington Post / AP:

A former Air Force intelligence specialist showed signs of paranoia aboard a trans-Atlantic flight and told federal air marshals that he had dynamite in his boots and laptop computer, forcing the plane to be diverted to Maine, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

Derek Stansberry told the FBI that fellow passengers were talking about him, ridiculing him and using interrogation techniques on him, and suggested that he concocted the dynamite story to divert attention from the fact he held “classified information,” according to an affidavit.

Passengers reported that seat cushions, pillows and blankets were taken to the back of the plane, where federal air marshals erected a bunker of sorts around the boots and laptop “to dampen the effects of any potential explosion,” FBI Special Agent James McCarty wrote in the affidavit.

Stansberry, 26, of Riverview, Fla., is charged with false information and threats, and interfering with a flight crew. He was ordered detained pending a detention hearing Monday.

His federal public defender, Virginia Villa, said she would seek a competency hearing but had not yet had time to fully review the case.

The Air Force described him as a former intelligence specialist who served four years, ending his Air Force career as a senior airman in 2009 at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

He told an FBI agent after the plane landed that there were no explosives and said he made the claim to deflect attention from the classified information he held, McCarty wrote. He also told an FBI agent that he had taken the sleep aid Ambien and told an air marshal that he’d taken eight of the pills, McCarty wrote.

Stansberry’s father, Richard, described his son Tuesday as “squeaky clean” and said the episode made no sense. He couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday.

Delta Air Lines Flight 273 was the first of two flight diversions in a 24-hour span. On Wednesday, a Continental Express flight from Houston to the Washington area was diverted to North Carolina after a threatening message was written on a bathroom mirror, the Transportation Security Administration said.

On Tuesday afternoon, there were 235 passengers and 13 crew members on the Paris-to-Atlanta flight when it was forced to land at Bangor International Airport.

Among the passengers who had to spend the night in Bangor were Charde Houston, an all-star for the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, and J. Alexander, featured on the TV show “America’s Next Top Model.” The weary travelers were finally allowed to depart Wednesday afternoon.

Stansberry came to the attention of the flight crew when he handed a rambling note to a flight attendant that said that his passport and identification papers were fake. He made the claim of having dynamite after being moved to the back of the plane for questioning by a federal air marshal.

Air marshals took Stansberry into custody without incident. Passengers were later told the plane was headed to Bangor, which is accustomed to dealing with diverted flights thanks to its location as the first large U.S. airport for incoming European flights.

I know this is Steve Qualyle, so take it with a shaker of salt but it does sort of tie in to this thread, I will try to find the radio program that has this 'Greg' guy.

Info Concerning False Flag June/July from CIA Source

April 27, 2010

Steve,

Having listened to Hawk's broadcast, I wanted to pass something along.

Two weeks ago, a lifetime family friend who runs a hunting service, stopped by my office. (He has another business which our business utilizes.) He dropped off our invoice (they are usually mailed) and he said to me, "Can we talk for a minute?"

We went into my office, and he said, "You might want to sit down." He has a hunting client who is retired CIA who told him that the grid would go down in June/July. Our friend told me, "It is to mask the global monetary collapse." He then went on to say that it would be, "either an EMP attack or the Chinese would shut the lights out 'with the push of a computer key.'"

He then said something that I didn't understand (until I heard Hawk's broadcast.) He said, "they are going to evacuate the cities....you don't want to be next to a railroad track."

I thought this sounded funny and I didn't think that I heard it right. Until I heard Greg on Hawk's broadcast.

FWIW

More Confirmation of What Is Coming

April 28, 2010

Steve,

My brother is retired from a Major plastic bottling company , he was the CEO and President. For him it is all about the charts. He does not have college education, he was bored with college, one of those type who are so damn smart they have to just get out there and do something. My brother can look at a chart of statistical data, pick up on what is going on and go straight to the problem and fix it. We have not really spoke for the last 20 years very much until the last couple of months, he has started to prepare. I sent him the webbot report, and he read it completely and asked me what I thought, that was a first. Then I sent the latest update about the CIA hunter. Following was his response:

“Mike, here is what I think: The stock market has recovered way to quickly and the profits being reported are all cooked up. THEY CAN’T HIDE WHAT THEY ARE DOING, IT’S IN THE CHARTS!

I know what they (all the major corps) are all doing, I was part of it for twenty years. We all attended the same special weekend corporate meetings and executive seminars. THE OTHER SHOE IS GOING TO DROP AND DROP HARD. It is coming very quickly.“

In the light of the kinds of information you get, this does not sound like a big deal. However for me it just puts a very ominous light on the coming events. He has all of his own sources he respects in his world, and he is getting hard core information from some key people to get out of the market, which he has. My brother is a Christian, he retired five years ago to get “out of the rat race”. He has never admitted it, I think he was being asked to do things that were outside his morals, so he got out. Everything is slapping us in the face. Some of us have woke up, most folks are asleep at the wheel. Thank you for your efforts to keep us informed.

Interesting tidbit, they just keep coming.......

Military Cancels Nuclear Attack Test
Monday, 26 Apr 2010 10:27 AM

By: Rowan Scarborough

The U.S. military has canceled a major field exercise that tests its response to a nuclear attack, angering some officials who say that what is now planned for this month will be a waste of time.

U.S. Northern Command in Colorado withdrew from major participation in this month's National Level Exercise (NLE), a large-scale drill that tests whether the military and the Department of Homeland Security can work with local governments to respond to an attack or natural disaster.

The exercise was canceled recently after the planned site for a post-nuclear-attack response — Las Vegas — pulled out in November, fearing a negative impact on its struggling business environment.

A government official involved in NLE planning said a new site could not be found. The official also said the Northern Command's exercise plans for "cooping" — continuity of operations, during which commanders go to off-site locations — also had been scratched.

"All I know is it's been turned into garbage," said the official, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the information. "It's a nonevent."

The NLE, which is supposed to be a series of hands-on exercises to test the system in the event terrorists use a nuclear device, has become instead a "tabletop exercise at best," the official said.

Maj. Michael Humphreys, a Northern Command spokesman, said the military officials decided to delink the Ardent Sentry exercise from the National Level Exercise, but he stressed that the command conducts other exercises and "cooping" at other times.

"This exercise enabled both the [Defense Department] and other agencies to review their processes and procedures, and focus future training efforts on closing gaps and additional areas identified during the exercise," Maj. Humphreys said. "This year, Ardent Sentry will not be linked with the NLE."

He said NorthCom will work with the Pentagon in its role in the NLE.

In a statement to The Washington Times, the Pentagon said: "It was necessary to cancel the field exercise portion of the NLE due to the inability to get another state/local community to engage on short notice after the original venue was changed. NorthCom still has a requirement to exercise its core requirements. It is just doing this at another location."

Created after the Sept. 11 attacks, the NLE is the country's largest exercise of its kind — combining activities among the military, Department of Homeland Security and local governments to test their joint, emergency response capabilities.

Homeland Security spokesman Clark Stevens said his department still plans major field work.

"NLE 2010 provides an important opportunity to exercise and assess emergency response and recovery capabilities in the face of a major disaster or a terrorist attack against the United States," Mr. Stevens said.

"Working with local partners in a number of states, the scenario will allow emergency response officials at all levels of government to test response plans, communication capabilities, and interagency coordination — tools that are vital to the effective response in a real-world event."

The field exercise in Las Vegas was to simulate terrorists detonating an improvised nuclear device assembled with smuggled weapons-grade uranium.

The 2009 NLE focused on intelligence sharing between the federal government and local law enforcement after a terrorist attack abroad.

I keep thinking they're gonna milk this for something:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/04/ ... 9872.shtml
Georgia President: Enriched Uranium Seized
Leader Blamed Russia for Creating Instability that Allows Nuclear Smugglers into the Region

(AP) The president of Georgia confirmed Wednesday that his country seized a shipment of highly enriched uranium, and blamed Russia for creating the instability that allows nuclear smugglers to operate in the region.

In an interview with The Associated Press, President Mikhail Saakashvili declined to divulge details of the seizure but said the uranium was intercepted last month coming into his country in the Caucasus region of southeast Europe.

The Georgian interior ministry said authorities had detained a group of foreign nationals and seized a small amount of uranium, which is now in a secure location.

Saakashvili's government no longer controls two breakaway sections of Georgia, separatist Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which declared independence after the 2008 Russia-Georgia war, and the president said the smuggling is evidence of a security black hole in the area.

Such seizures have come "mostly from the direction of Russia," Saakashvili said.

If this were true, and I am absolutely convinced that it is not, then it should be a Big Freaking Deal. Yet there's hardly been a peep about it.

It seems it's some groundwork being laid for ... something else.

But what?

Now that's RICH -- Blaming Russia for 'creating' the instability which Nato armed and encouraged Georgia towards. Why Why Why Why WHY don't such reality-deficient blasphemy-spouting psychotic scum-sucking stone-cold degenerate opportunistic liars do us all a favor, just fold-up into their own feces, dry-up and blow-away?
