Right, do you think it's ok for someone in a mod position to be inflammatory? Of course not, but that's what Barracuda is, as well as proudly biased. Cuda can be a fierce, convincing, and passionate poster. My opinion is that those are not ideal qualities for someone in a moderator position. That's my opinion, my complaint. I wanted to say it and it's not just about Nordic or the Mel thread which I avoided because those threads end like they always do and did. I'm done, but what I want to say besides the above complaints it that I think the mods should think again about what being a mod is supposed to be.

i have always over the years read your posts and got a lot from them, but more recently i read your posts and wonder whether you are taking the piss or desperately need a bit of time off,

Your honest and respectfully stated viewpoint is always welcome, even if you don't get what I'm on about sometimes.

That's the thing. Jeff's anti-HMW rule prevents us from discussing - me explaining- things without copying thread material over to a whole new thread and starting from scratch.

This is such a burden of time that is is like segregation- separate but unequal suppression of information.

That's not so, you big poopy-pants. Pan wasn't even working as a mod during the instatement of the obscenity rule, dude, which was put in place in December of '09. Beyond that, the rule is very loosely applied, and rarely enforced. But when a poster tells another poster or a mod, "FUCK YOU, YOU STUPID FUCKHEAD!!!", or something to that effect, my assumption is that they want to be suspended, and you know what? I can help fulfill that desire.

You were suspended for being a disruptive, weenie-nosed, mod-baiting, blubbering water mammal. It's not as if you weren't warned. The ruling regarding your disruption tactics has been in place since May of 2008, over two years now. And, sorry Hugh, but starting a new thread is hardly an imposition. You notice that people on the board, yourself included, do it all the time. Why? Simple - it's a discussion board. You post a topic, and others discuss it with you should they care to. You know how it goes.

I doubt that will happen, but it's up to Jeff. I would tend to voice a "no" on that one. The posting guidelines subforum has the basic limits of what behavior is acceptable here.

If you encounter egregious violations of that rule, feel free to flag the post so the mods can see it. Otherwise, yeah, we're not on kindergarten yard duty here.

And Hugh, I'll say I personally feel that that you ad to the board, I enjoy your posts. Some seem way out in left field & others seem bang on, but man, you tend to give Jeff a hard time, like he's some dictatorial admin.
Of all my time on forums, I've encountered some pretty nasty admins. One bloke who ran a website focusing on 9/11 had such a horrendous temper, he'd ban, mock & namecall anyone who had a differing opinion. Needless to say, I certainly didn't stick around for long. Jeff seems the most patient & good natured I've seen...

That has happened to me a couple times & must say, it's maddening, especially when you put so much work into it. It's a mystery as to why it happens to me on occasion, so, I tend to write it on my note pad & pate them in here.
