That's awesome. Watching DiEugenio play whack-a-mole with the Lone Nutters on the Education Forum is a joy to behold.

How can he be so damn right about RI and so damn wrong about DU?
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Jim DiEugenio is The most knowledgeable assassination researcher.

But he has missed some things, like the spook contamination of Hollywood and their tactic of using UFOs to discredit independent research.

He's still citing spook Jim Marrs for his early JFK work despite Mr. Marrs extensive UFO disinfo output ('Alien Agenda') ramped up when the AARB was hitting the internet in 1996 along with Gary Webb's drug expose.

Hope he reads this.

Well, he's still citing spook Fletcher Prouty, too. So. Now what?

Overall, he's right. This is "one of the best forums out there" — if not the very best.

As for the troll thing, even with the trolling RI has been plagued with, this forum's "signal to noise ratio" remains something to be proud of. The mix of many insightful board participants and a great moderation team makes this a truly special place.

Oh, yeah, I am definitely going to join the group wank here.

I really appreciate the fact people here can reach me on a human level and remind me to stay polite and humble. I am grateful to that, but really...it's secondary to the more selfish reason for being here. You motherfuckers are thorough. Forums like ATS are a joke because they have no discretion or judgement -- if I wanted the first page of google results, I'd be using google. I have a lot of good friends who use RI but never signed up. They agree RI threads are the gold standard, because you guys find everything that matters and have honest conversations about what all the nuggets mean. I'm not gonna pretend it's everybody...but at the same time, holy shit, there's like 40-50 people on here I look up to. I can't even say that about about our government. (...and I honestly like Austan Goolsbee.)

Yep, it's usually the most important ongoing conversation in which I participate, if not the most fascinating, at any given time.

I trust this place to give us early warning alarms for big shit to duck and cover from, to clarify the decision to zig vs. zag against fascism, to repeatedly and relentlessly disrupt intellectual laziness and information-absorbing complacency. To remind that certainty is insanity, and the strive for it wasted energy. To remind that a group need not share beliefs to share a simple and profound platform from which a million righteous paths radiate in all directions, including inwardly towards each other where the cumulative light of truth is almost blinding. Almost.

Congrats all, especially Jeff whats-his-name!

There is no other place on the internet like this one. You are right Simulist, the signal to noise ratio is very high and the conversation rarely devolves to the "No, U!" level.

A round of metaphorical beers (or similar libation of choice) and a pat on the back all around. You deserve it.

I don't even know what to say except to chime in and say it is indeed a unique and wonderful place.

Somebody at DUmbville moved Octafish's Nov. 22 thread to the 9/11 dungeon:
"November 22, 1963 the United States of America had a President with Vision"

Whenever I try to forget how messed up that place is, they refresh my memory. :(

p.s. defendandprotect has a good thread on the subject going here:
"Today is anniversary of assassination of President John F. Kennedy ... any thoughts?"

Don't know how to feel, seeing Octafish soldier on over there. Good for him, certainly, but I'm exhausted just thinking of his endless defense of real history from the froth of consensus politics. Better to pound your fist on a door than bang your head on a wall. I once thought DU was the former, but it's the latter.

Goddamn. Can't believe I missed commenting in this thread -- after all, I do comment in all of them only because any thread can't be complete without someone using some variation on the word "fuck".

Anyways, I wanna echo it all -- all of the above. I don't know how this place does it. But I guess it's the continual act of me asking myself that question that makes it so good. Seriously, no matter what I'm doing, I continually monitor this place for all the trends and if I find something awry, strange etc, I make sure to post it here immediately. I just read that comment about the forum and am actually honored to be a part of that place.
