I'd guess that's pretty close to the mark. I haven't looked into it much, as I was no fan of Edwards, but he had a big following of well-off supporters, the type who can get a Dem elected if he plays them right, so why WOULDN'T the spooks send a fetching videographer his way to get some paydirt in case he pulled it off? She wouldn't need to be agent. That's how they work. If they can't blackmail a pol through his pants they get him publicly loaded and splash it all over CNN for a week, or kill off members of his family, or go the suicide /ski / car/ plane accident route. It happens just about every other week.
